If I were in DFW right now I would visit the Capital One Lounge instead of the Centurion. Not even a question. đ
C1 Lounge is outstanding. Iâd say that itâs worth going out of your way for it if your route, timing, and the price of your flight allow it. I was able to make DFW my long layover flying from east to west so I had plenty of time to enjoy the lounge.
DFW is my home airport and everything is better at capital one lounge. The to go section is well stocked also. Free guests on top of that and there is no reason to go to centurion lounge.
C1 beats the piss out of Centurion. Not even a question.
I visited both lounges a few weeks ago at DFW. I have both C1VX and Amex Plat card. C1 lounge wins the showdown. Period. Better food. Variety options. Killer dessert. Less crowded. Better view. Also can do carryout. Customer service better. I got a thankyou card and candy for stopping by.
The lemon cake pops they give you when you leave are fantastic! The grab and go items I took were also delicious.
The C1 lounge was awesome. Customer service was phenomenal. I went with my wife and 3 kids (she has a card too) there was a staff member who came by and chatted the kids up, refilled our drinks, and gave our kids cookies on the way out. The food was very very good, the grab and go was also delicious and came through mid-flight as we had a 4 hour flight.
Last time when I visited Capital One lounge there was queue and they waitlisted us, had to wait more than 30 mins. They also mentioned shower room is broken and guests cannot access them

The Capitol One lounge is not the Centurion Lounge âKillerâ. The lounges are equally as nice. However, the Capitol One lounge is MUCH less crowded than the centurion lounge, making it more appealing.
The Capital One lounge makes the Centurian Lounge look like a 7-11. Seriously, It is waaaay better all around!
Many of the Centurion Lounges are definitely due for an upgrade.
I love to see all these collabs Ben! Also, I'm excited to check out this lounge myself. Dallas isn't terribly far from me so if I'm ever flying from there for any reason I'll be sure to check it out. Thanks for sharing your experience Jazzy!

Iâve been to the C1 Lounge and it was outstanding. Especially the food. I also liked the ambience and bright colors/decor. My only Centurion experience was at the newly renovated one at SFO, which had a darker feel. I barely had time for a quick walkthrough and a cookie at Centurion. It was late morning with only 2 people ahead of me in line. Both C1 and SFO Centurion were packed, but C1 still had seating and you still felt like you had space to enjoy the lounge. Hopefully, Iâll have more to enjoy Centurion in the future.
Between the 2, based on my own experiences, Iâd still go with C1.

Live in Dallas and commute to LA many times for family. I can say the Capital One Lounge destroys the Centurion Lounge for sure in DFW. Other places itâs different but comparing apples to apples they do a far better job. As for the guests itâs easy and customer service at the Capital One Lounge is great! I was extremely impressed. Flying out of DFW a lot and I wonât use any other lounge now.
The regular $95 Venture card also gives you 2 free Capital One lounge visits per year. It also earns the same 2 points per dollar on all spend like the Venture X.
I donât understand how anyone can do a review of a lounge and say itâs a killer of another lounge if in fact Iâve never been to that lounge. I have never been to the capital one lounge and probably wonât be in the near future but I can say Iâve been to at least half a dozen centurion lounges and they are Generally the best Iâve been to in the US, but they do vary a bit. Iâve had to wait online to get it into a centurion lounge once for about 20 minutes otherwise I am generally checking right in and going in. Centurion lounge at CLT is my favorite so far.
So the C1 lounge has had a wait last two times Iâve been there. BUT: you donât have to wait in line very long (traveled on a Friday afternoon). Like you put your name on the list and the text you when they can take you. So much better than waiting in line. I went to Bar Louie across the street to have a beer then got a ping 15 min later.
Was surprised to see this was about the DFW C1 lounge, that's been open for over a year already. Seeing "new", I was hoping it would be announcing the opening of the IAD or DEN location.

I went to the capital one loung in DFW, hands down the best place I have been in an airport. I went to 4 in one day just to see how they compare. When I saw capital one is on point, it would be an under statement

The guest speaker is certainly a lovely lady.... But she's never been to the Centurion lounge and has only been to the Capital One lounge once. Maybe I'm old, but in my day, we brought-in guest speakers who were maybe experts or had something to add. Not sure what the purpose of this lady was.
Probably because she has the best videography of the C1 lounge, which is still relatively rare compared to all the CZcamsrs who've filmed through the Centurion Lounge network.
I've been to the DFW Capital One Lounge several times. I've never been to a Centurion Lounge. But Capital One Lounge is by far the best lounge I've been to (compared to any Priority Pass lounge). I'd also argue its better than the Delta flagship lounge in Atlanta, which I've been to.
Nice to see capital one stepping up the competition. My wife has the Venture X and we love it. Best way to get lounge access for cheap.
sounds like cap one lounge wins just on shower alone. centurion has showers, they are not always broken, but they are always broken or "something wrong with the pipes" whenever guests want to use the shower.

I've been to both in Dallas... ... the food is a little better at the Centurion as you can get as much as you want.. BUUUT the Capital One lounge feels classier because of the way they lay out the food AND the VIEWS... the views are amazing!!! they need to modify the bathrooms at capital one.. there is always a line!!!!
Centurion lounge at JFK has 1 shower, but it was pretty nice as lounge showers go.
Having been to both in DFW, I found the Capital One overall experience to be better... They are both great, though. I suggest a long layover and do both... And swing by the Flagship lounge if you are so entitled...
It would be extremely nice to have if I had a flight delay or an extended layover, provided that it wasnât overcrowded and you could gain access, but Iâm still not sold on this whole airport lounge thing. Iâm glad that itâs there though for the people who enjoy it.
In the past, I was uninterested in airport lounges. But with the delays of last summer and crowding at a lot of gates, this necessitated arriving much sooner than in the past. Having access to lounges started to make sense. Iâve found airline specific lounges to be quieter, less crowded, and cleaner generally. The C1 Lounge is one of the best airport lounges Iâve visited. My flight worked out such that I could have a long layover at DFW.
Go one time to a nice lounge (not priority pass) and you might change your mind. If it was crowded like the Centurion lounge I'd say it's overrated. Because waiting to get in sucks. Haha. But when it's seamless, you can relax, get a drink, get food and get some food for your flight.. which could be a huge savings.

They are having issues connecting to Chase. Other issuers are fine. They are trying to fix the Chase thing, but it is taking time

Was trying to get to into Delta lounge at JFk and they want me to pay $50 for my wife and same thing for centurion.

LAX, LHR Centurion Lounges have showers. I assumed they all had showers, I guess some donât.
I think they are adding showers to the newer locations. The LGA one didnt have a shower when i visited, but about a year or two ago it moved to a larger location within the terminal and i guess they added showers

She disqualified herself by saying sheâs never been to a Centurion lounge. Itâs hard to say a lounge is better without either 1) having personally experienced it OR 2) having quantitative evidence that oneâs better.
