@@GBA_Raspberry Saguaro shouldnt have even gotten this far in the first place. They injured hamiltons starting QB in the semifinals and came back to win. If they barely beat an injured hamilton football team, there was no way they couldve beaten chandler.

Anirudh Srinivasan ok I’m from Tucson so we don’t like saguaro down here but you gotta give it to them chandler is in the top 20 teams in the nation and they held up no too bad but yes every here makes fun of them for being in a low division but they still can beat almost every team here and they just got moved up to 5A (used to be 4A and highest is 6A)
We do but we don’t do D1 we do 6A which is the highest and then going down to 5A kinda like D2 but we also started an open bracket which makes it where no matter what division you are in, if you are one of the top 8 teams you will play in a small bracket for the open bracket state championship which is the real deal one now

In Arizona kids are allowed to choose which high school they want to go to.
Well you got a good program maybe top in the state of course lots of ppl want to transfer and or move to be there.
Also they’re a D1 level team, but they play against ALL D3 and compete for a D3 championship every year. It’s no challenge to them so all those state champs they won aren’t even something to be proud of.

My son goes to this school, he plays football for Saguaro and we live in Scottsdale. I GUARANTEE you we are not rich. My son excels in sports and this was the school for him. Don’t think just because some of these kids parents have money that these boys don’t work their tails off. Not just on the field but in class too. This is an amazing program and Coach Mohns is an amazing supportive coach.

Tell your son not to take any of that for granted, because it's a luxury only rich schools enjoy

Being from AZ I know this team is damn good. I also know they are in Division 3 which is not as tough as the Division 1 talent. Division 1 in Arizona is quite decent tbh. They can’t help that though as their school population isn’t on the D1 level hence their D3 placement. If they did somehow get into the D1 scene I think their 6 straight state titles will definitely be a different story. The real school that should have been featured is Chandler. Talk about athletes... 👀

They keep their enrollment down so they can stay at a lower level. No open enrollment only I'd u live in that district. Even then kids are turned away just keep enrollment down.
I hear a lot about this team. But they’re in a lower division and don’t play out of state much if anything. Why don’t they come play a top team in the trinity league in Orange County CA and let see how good they really are or just a SoCal power in general
Pac Meez they play a bunch outta state every year 2 games out of state but very true enrollment # is small but they have a roster as big as big schools do.

I live in scottsdale, and if you know one thing in AZ , Scottsdale has money...and lots of it, chandler is meh, but what I'm trying to get at is that the attention, fame, glory, and spotlight will go to sag just because I'm sure they put themselves out there more because they're able to do so fast, and how they want it. Being a big wealthy HS in a rich city gets you places.

Saguaro is a great team but they play in 4a,(Divison 3 in AZ) it's a joke. Chandler has been 25 in the nation for 3 years(produced Cameron Jordan) and plays in the highest division in AZ. Centennial beat Bishop Gorman and St. Thomas Aquinas, they're top 50 in the nation and play in 5a which is D2

Glad the program is where it is these days. Very inconsistent in the 'old days' of the 70's. 1976 they went to state and lost to, I think, Marcos De Niza. In 1977 Saguaro was an easy target for anyone who wanted to get their B squad some time and still not lose the game. Hell, Saguaro lost their Home Coming game to Yuma that year. Some members of the Sr. Class, in order to try to get some 'Spirit' back started a program to change the mascot from the Saber Cat to a mole. "Role With the Mole.' Still makes me laugh. Of course it was a stunt. Anyway, many great memories came back to the frontal lobes watching this. Thanks.

Hey guys, it's a team from Ruston, Louisiana. The 1990 4A state Champs and National Champions were equally talented. They went down as one of the best high school teams ever. 18 D 1 scholarships and 3 more D 2. Start doing some more research on the teams before that did it first. Go Bearcats!!!!! By the way, the rb we had won player of the year over Marshall Faulk.

Let's not forget Joy Christian practically cheated at the 2015 Division 5 championship against Benson on Chaparral territory. It's not Chaparral's fault but my point is that rich city schools will do anything to make a small town school lose even if it means cheating. Btw Benson received a Super Bowl 50 Golden Football that same season. Maybe that's why Joy Christian cheated cause they were jealous.
