Jimmy sat there thinking, "Why the fuck couldn't I have played a Jak Jones instead of Hendry every year??"đĄ
He'd probably still have bottled it. Like he did vs Parrott
@@StewartyMacTo be fair Parrott played the snooker of his career in that final, never played like it afterwards
A Jak Jones would have beaten him as well. Kyren has put in the work and made the sacrifices needed to win. Jimmy didn't.
White was perfectly capable of beating Hendry, if he'd put the work in.
Jak Jones scored twelve 50+ breaks. I bet Jimmy didn't do that in any of those finals vs Hendry
Well done Kyren, comes across as a great bloke, loves his family, so nice to see him acknowledge all his parents sacrifices and he finally gets to pay them back.
Worthy winner
He has probably earned enough money before this to pay them back already. He has been a top 16 player for last 6 or 7 years. Just winning it and being world champion is the ultimate payback and the reason they sacrificed.
@gamblinggod960 Yes that's what I meant when I said about paying them back mate. I wasn't talking financially, I was referring to the fact that he's world champion, how that made all their sacrifices worth it. As you say he's been a top player for a while now and he's earned decent money through prizes and sponsorship, endorsement deals etc.
I saw an interview with him at home a few years ago and his house is very nice with a full size snooker table and a couple of decent cars in the drive,so I'm sure as you say ,financially he's been able to pay them back a few years ago ( that's even if they wanted it back,he is their son so as parents they've supported him for love and not money )
But the real payback is to show them that it was all worth it,he's now a world champion and every sacrifice was more than worth it
think i have a feeling one of the good guys has won it
Ronnie lost out big time... Bingham the so and so...cost him his 8th ...will he get a better chance ???
â@@nisarmairban9835 couldn't care less about Ronnie. He's far too unstable, arrogant and rude. He acts like a knob far too often!.
A trophy for resilience.
Well done, boy đȘ
Very pleased for Kyren, been a fan for some time. A class act in the presentation interview too.
I've always said technically he's one of the best in the world with the potential to be the best. I've just always questioned if or not he had that killer instinct to win that makes a real champion. I still do question it to some degree but I hope he goes on from this. He has every right to lift that trophy 3 or more times.
â@@npdoughty1405Unlikely but once is still good
â@@gordoncockfieldwhy do you say that?. He's been in 3 triple crown finals and has now won 1 of them.
@@lardy70s hope he does but got a good draw like Robertson did. Could never beat Ronnie or John. John was not in form this year.
@@gordoncockfield It's a known issue with him, this is why he's seen therapists. He's almost too much of a nice guy to be a prolific champion. He cried when he went through on a fluke against McGill. Very nice, but if that was Hendy or O'Sullivan they put their hands up to apologise but inside they're laughing their fucking arses off about it. He needs to be more stone cold killer type to emulate what previous people with his natural ability have done
Many congratulations to Kyren, such a great ambassador for the game, wish him and his family all the best
i am a big ronnie fan but if he can't win kyren is one of the good guys you hope wins it...i agree with all the things you said he is also a top player
â@@paulrichards6894 yes and now he's got the world championship he may kick on and win a few more titles
@@NellyGandhella always felt he was good enough
Kyren Wilson the Rocky Balboa of snooker. đ
What a great new world Champ. Congrats to Kyron and all his family. He has worked so hard for this. Well done Jak too on making the final. đđ
Worthy winner, best player throughout the tournament
This is lovely. Good lad, Kyren
Kyren has given us so much over the years, so happy for him
Well Done Kyren đ A True Gentleman and Warrior đ Absolutely Well Deserved World Championship Winner đ„đđ
Well deserved, great guy and played like a true champ đ
Congratulations to Kyren! It's easy to takes these things for granted but Kyren is very luck that his parents who have sacrificed too much for this are around to see this. I am so happy for him and his family!
Nothing but admiration and respect for Kyren, a not so everyday story of triumph over adversity, very well done young man đđđđ
I love to watch this sport, it is control of mind over matter and body and also very British. Such good sports Snooker players are in general, definitely Kyren Wilson. That he may win more finals in the future, congratulations Champ!
get in my son! been a fan for years. was a rough season, but hard work, dedication and perseverance pays off. enjoy it my man!
Delighted for him, obvious how much it means to him.
Iâm crying watching this ,
Goose bumps !,
Well done Kiren , you and your family deserve the highest medal in the Snooker Sport !.
Hats off lad !.
Saddo
The lad with the Afro is an absolute legend great interview and great respect he has for kyren his family well done
A legend you taking the mick đ
Nice guy and would be a legend as presenter of a Kid's TV show, but awful presenting sport imho.
bot comment surely,
Ha he's awful seen him do strongman events and that is bad also.
This you Razzi?
A great family man and comes from my home town to.
Which is a hole.
@@gordoncockfieldnice comment bro! Maybe get a life đ
Congrats Kyren! Well deserved. On a side note, this interviewer is brilliant!
congrats kyren, hard luck jak,but thanks for making a match of it
Listening to the back story here its great to see Kyren win it. He deserves it. Nice story about John Higgins as well.
Ive warmed to kyren hes gonna carry the title well
Good on ya, Kyren. You did the 'hard yards' to win this.
It's time to kick on and win a few more đđȘ
Well done Kyren Wilson
Well done Kyren!
Congratulations!!! đ
CONGRATULATIONS Kyren đ đ you played brilliant though out this tornement. đ đ
I donât enjoy watching Kyren and this has been one of the lowest quality finals I have seen for many years BUT thereâs no denying he loves the game and itâs nice to see someone else win. Unlike Luca, this could push Wilson on to win more titles as heâs undoubtedly more consistent.
Well said. I like Kyren as he seems a genuinely nice guy.
Well happy for you Kyren.. world champion!!! above all a nice humble person wish you all the very best and family !!!
Well done Kyren, Many congratulation
So pleased for Kyren đ
Great to see someone achieve their lifes ambition.
Congratulations Kyren enjoy the title together with your family .
It's a great final!!! đđđđđ
Well done Kyren! Been following him for a good few years now and I always hoped he would do it. Also how classy from Higgins. Two of the very best examples of the sport!
Such a decent bloke and a lovely supportive family. An inspiration to all of us. Well done, Kyren. đ
Jimmy White looking like Edward Scissorhands again!
Congrats to Kyren on finally winning his WC title. Also impressed with Jones for pushing him after a poor start in this final. A player who has a bright future.
Really nice people. Very happy for them as a family, good luck to them
Totally deserved for his regularity, hard working player, serious behaviour on the table. I think a lot of people knew he would win one day when he has becomed finalist against Ronnie. Congrats Mister Wilson
Congratulations Kyren on becoming World Champion, wishing you and your family all the best â€ïž
Well done Kyren, top lad and classy player. Well deserved.
Well done Kyren his boys always wanted him to be world champion đ„°đ
Well done Kyren a deserved win. Hard luck Jak, you'll fight for the Welsh another day.
Class act and seems like a top bloke, well deserved
He is a good lad , congratulations man , you did it
Reminds me of the year Neil Robertson won the title. Neil's run that year was: Fergal O'Brien, Martin Gould, Steve Davis, Ali Carter, Graeme Dott ... not the trickiest run, took advantage of his opponents where he could and he stayed relatively fresh throughout (beat Davis early, quick first round match etc)
Kyren's run was Dominic Dale, Joe O'Connor, John Higgins, Dave Gilbert, Jak Jones so a very similar run. He was helped immensely by having the easiest opponent possible in the first round (no offence to Dom... he's not the same player that he was) and he was still very fresh by the time he played Higgins who had only just scraped past Mark Allen 13-12.
This is true but you've still gotta take your chance when it's there. The other semi finalists will have fancied winning it as well.
Neil was nearly beaten by Gould though, 11 5 down but ended up winning 13 12 iirc.
Kyren waon all his matches pretty comfortably. His run was more comparable to
Ronnie 's path in 2022.
McGill was missed this year, he often has a good WC.
@@johnmc3862 too many of the crucible specialists fall out of the 16 and have to qualify
Good on you Kyren, well-deserved and I remember when you were pulling pints to make ends meet
fair play to him. seems like a sound geeza
So pleased Kyren completed this event as a win. What a tumultuos season with mostly downs.... To cap off the season with this year.... what a turnaround.
Congrats Kyren! Well Done!
Had a great tournament well done đ
Well done kyron, you deserve it mate
If someone deserves it , it is Kyren. Well done. Congratulations.
Well done Barry stark
Well done the winner a few good breaks under pressure on either side but "Not the best" standard for a final has to be said, probably in the bottom 5 of all time Crucible history along with Taylor, G. Dott, Parrot & Joe Johnson.
What a beautiful victory.
Now please KW now your a worthy world champion no more tears when you win tournaments.
Loved it for kyren. Absolutely class play. Well deserved đ
Congratulations Kyren, much deserved đ
Commiserations to Jones he was unlucky in the final and did well to get there but full credit to Wilson, thoroughly deserved World Champion.
Unlucky? He played awful
Top man Kyren
Very very happy for Kyren đđđđđđđđđđđđđđđđđ
Wel done kyren world champion.
It's a very good feelings to be a champion of snooker game entertainments. Congratulations and well done. Enjoy being a the 2024 World đ Snooker Champion đâ€. Good relaxing entertainments enjoyed by us all the snooker game fans â€đ. Good luck again for next year 2025.
Always good to see Jimmy White it must kill him that he was a few pots away from being World Champ 30 years ago
Hurts him more that even now he would have destroyed Wilson tonight.
I think he hasn't given up on the 0.00001 % chance he can still become World Champion. It's why he's still playing events in his sixties.
@@number1Don he woudnt
â@@number1Don No way. Maybe in a coke snorting tournament. White is a 6 time world final bottle job!. His time is gone and Kyren's moment is now.
Well done son! All the best for the future.
Always said he'd win it one day. Couldn't believe I got 25-1 as well.
Lovely Champion
GO ON RONNIE!!!!!!!
He got lucky he was left so many gifts
Worthy winner for sure.
I know Kyren as a kid, use to play against him in Northampton when he was still ahead of all of us, so glad he is now world champion!!đ dosent make me look as awful at snooker anymore đ€Łđ€Łđ€Ł
I agree with Jimmy. Kyren will kick on from this now to go to heaps and bounds! đ canât beat live TV
Wilson is mentally extremely tough. To come back after the way he was beaten in the final by Ronnie is a fantastic achievement.
An incredible performance, well done Kyren
Incredible performance? Really?!!?
Well done
Letâs hope the warrior wins more
Kyrens brother sounds just like him. You can tell they spend a lot of time together
Firstly well done kyren well, deserved, secondly hard luck jak,i think the occassion got to jak ,but no person is imune from pressures like that, sure he had a terrible start, but recovered to make a final of it,and im sick of hearing about people saying his style of play put others off,not all players are the same and its up to your opponent to find a way to beat you,and dont forget that jak beat players like judd trump and si juiwei and stuart bingham over long matches ao he was in the final on merit, and maybe one day he will be back again
When a name tells you everything.....
You know just by the names they are council estate - kyren, taylor, finley, bailey.
No doubt they will have cousins called logan, diesel, callum, connor etc.
Tyson
Chopper, Geezer, Neo, Egbert.
Sounds like country estates not council. Poshest council estate names Iâve ever heard.
Also when a comment tells you everything. Youâre an insecure little boy đ xx
I sold my soul ...but in a good way.
Explains why he was constantly doing the hand triangle when sitting in his chair During the match.
đ„±
They all do it, Davis-Hendry and Murphy, to be honest I think it might be a in joke with those three.
Are you serious? You think Kyren had sold his soul to Beelzebub wow! đ„đčđș
The position stimulates a nerve which relaxes your body. People do it unconsciously and consciously.
I wanted Jak to win, personally, but if he was going to lose to anyone, Iâm happy it was Kyren.
Congratulations, mate. Thoroughly deserved.
Everyone needs a bit of luck in their career, well Wilson has had a careers worth the past 2wks, barring the Higgins match (even he's not the player he was) his run has to be the easiest I've ever saw in nearly 40yrs of watching it! I watched all his matches & the amount of times he missed when in & wasn't punished was hard to believe, he even made hard work of this after goin 7-0 up on Jones who was absolutely shattered after Saturday night & his extra 2 qualifying matches!
Fair play to him this was the trophy he wanted & proved that hardwork pays off when u don't have natural talent. His cue action is very unnatural & robotic, just not so easy on the eye!
A bizarre Championship with 12th in the world being highest ranked of the Semifinal lineup!
Nearly in tears watching kyron and his son. Legend. So happy for him. Deserved it since day 1.
WHAT A SPORT!!!
Jimmy White..."I think you will kick on from this now, to go to heaps and bounds."
Jimmy has said âheaps and boundsâ before .. he must think thatâs the correct phrase!
Since you cried during that match against Mark Allen, i knew that you will come back stronger and stronger. Congratulations Kyren ! Iâm sure it wonât be your only World Championship.
I said when he lost to ronnie in that final he would be back to lift the world trophy and I was correct well done kieran great guy
We see Kyren the family man instead of snooker Kyren who doesnât show his emotions.
Good lad
bright kid, really witty
Congrats Kyren such an amazing achievement hopefully more to come in the future đ„łđ„łđ„đ„đ
Kyren deserved it. He played well the whole tournament.
He was the best player all the way made it look easy
Mr bean World champion 24
Worst last 4 ever how did they get here. On a level with Ebdon
A former winner, finalist and semi finalist....? Ok
Not really, Ebs was lucky Hendry wasnât his usual self.
@@johnmc3862
Hendry peaked too early but had to or else he wouldn't have made it to the final. He was running on empty as Stave Davis mentioned in the studio after raising it to come through against Doherty and then extra psyching himself up to defeat O'Sullivsb. It's difficult to peak for 3 rounds at the fag end of the world championships to win it. An immediate century was most unlikely in frsme 35, a century has never been done in frame 35 before, a tsll order at such a late stage of a world chsmpionship final
Ebdon was hsrdly somebody who you would expect to lose 18-3 in any case. Talking like leading into 2002 world chsnoinship finsl that it was unfinished business from 1996 world final as though Hendry winning it 18-12 waa a terrible perfoemance, as if an 18-3 thrashing coming in was ever a realistic prospect. Hendry was great, but fully expecting him to chase an 18-3 to equal or bresk Steve Davi's 18-3 finsl win from 1989 and achieve it was ridiculous. Being lucky as though they don't deserve to be world champion doesn't come into it, because there's no such thing as the real world chsmpion ss though the actuel world chsmpion is not a the real world champion. The sctual world champion is the real world champion.
There's bo such thing as a bad world champion. There's no players making the world championship finsl floating about likely to lose 18-2 or 18-3. Congratulate Wilson please, this world championship final was not the equivalent of sn 18-3 had one of the big nsmes had got to the final instesd of either Wilson or Jones and played the other. Ebdon and both Doherty got lukewarm congrstulations in 1997 and 2002 for their world title wins it was ridiculous. If you become world snooker champion you deserve to do so.
Ebdon wasn't exactly a no hoper. Saying "He was lucky" to diminish a player's achievement of winning the world championship title is ridiculous.
Wilson's wotld title success shouldn't be diminished by ridiculous claims of "18-2 or 18-3"' either.
Bad players don't become world snooker champion. I haven't seen a bad world snooker champion yet.
That presenter needs to go back to CBBC ffs
He alright, itâs a European cast probably told to present the way he is.
Mr Boring wins đđ
Well done lad fully deserved.
The funniest thing of this interview was the story of having Rob Walker in a headlock 4 years back Bet there is going to be one hell of a party tonight going on somewhere in Sheffield Well done Kyren enjoy it
