The new TBI intake manifold in 87 was the first aluminum design. It dissipated heat too fast so in order to keep heat, a cast passage went around the plenum of the tbi for coolant to warm the charge. Very cool technology back then 🤗
Love the content.. On the silicone when your done put it in a freezer and it stays fresh a old man at a boat shop told me this and it 100% works for years

Hello Sam. Your the first person to catch that. We are only expecting this intake to be on there for no more than 3 or 4 months, so I wasn't concerned with them leaking in the future. I would normally have used liquid teflon sealant or some ultra black on the threads. Great question. Thanks for watching. Jerry

Correct. There really was no need for it with the surfaces being as good as they were. If I hadn't put any on I would have gotten numerous comments asking why I did not so I just opted to put as little on as I could. We appreciate you watching. Jerry and Emily

working on my first sbc 350. this is all very helpful. I’m curious why no thread sealant on the manifold through bolts?
Hello Sam. Your the first person to catch that. We are only expecting this intake to be on there for no more than 3 or 4 months, so I wasn't concerned with them leaking in the future.
