Great deal! Are we all forgetting farkes lack of tactics last year though…we relied heavy on individual skill, I’m honestly worried for next season no matter who comes or goes
I understand that abit but after watching England we didn’t play that bad last season, struggles against low blocks but for the most part we found ways to win

Maybe a loan deal for Skipp can still be done. But Premier league teams don’t like to sanction these types of deals until the very end of the transfer window when they know the make up of their squad and if they have enough midfield depth.

We need dynamism from the midfield not Forshaw 2.0. as a matter of fact Forshaw probably played more football than him last season and people want us to put 12 million down for him. Looks like Archie had a release clause in his new contract if we didn’t get promoted… so I think we really need to stop with this sentiment FC. It’s looking more and more likely that the kid wanted out.
I’m not a big social media person but I found it weird that Archie didn’t even make a comment or post after the final - even Cree did and he’s been linked with a move away for ages. Something tells me Archie is a very happy boy right now.

Being honest... I think this is a good deal. Archie is a great player and would love him to stay, but the reality is that we need to do these deals. Rodan coming back is amazing. We need a RB now.

It'd be nice for Rodon to come, but would that eagerness be because of Amps/Gray and James? BUTTTT Revie would have played Joseph a hell of a lot more! Also, football has changed so much compared to Revie's time. I'm hoping 49ers and RB are in for a reasonable time, and they won't want to break the club....profits are a very important factor. I'm NOT happy with the sale, but it does make sense.

Player has no agency. He's not going to turn it down after clubs have already agreed the transfer. But you're correct, his career will inevitably stall after this deal. Leeds need to be ready to bring him back if this is the case.
Exactly what happened with Joe Rodon, Spurs signed him from Swansea, my club and I support Leeds. And they then ruined his development and confidence.
I worked with Ceri Rodon, Joe's father, they are from a big rugby union family and played for Morriston RFC in Swansea, hence Joe's initials, JPR - Joseph Peter Rodon (after JPR Williams, the legendary Welsh rugby player.
Don't forget, Pascal will be back aswell... That's like a new signing.

The "football is a business" point of view may be factually true, but I don't watch football for business management skills, I watch for the heart in your mouth, amazing skills, and the progression narrative. Losing this young man who probably harbors the same dream for Leeds is hard, no matter if it was 80 million. What is the point of it all really if you sell players like him?
Eases profit and sustainability and makes it easier for us to get in to the Premier League where we would be in an easier position to keep young talent without worrying about the finances.
I'm not saying I like it, or that it's right for the game. But it's the environment we're in. This why getting promoted last year simply HAD to happen. This sale doesn't go through if we had the Premier League funds. It's about being practical. Think about how people felt when Howson went to Norwich, we all hated it. But we moved on. We'll move on and maybe we'll even see him back. But for now #1 concern has to be getting out of the Championship, and the better we get at managing P&S rules, the easier that becomes.

Because Leeds get £40 mil up front for Archie but are paying 10 mil In instalments for Rodon so we get the full £40 mil up front instead of 30 so it helps more with PSR

A massive head v heart moment. It is an absolute dagger right where it hurts. But it is absolutely the right thing. I'd love Archie to stay, but lets be honest. Rodon on a permanent is a better impact player for us than Gray, who had some good games, but cost us in others - it's not his fault, he's still only a child, but it's the truth.
I would expect in going to Spurs he will be sent back on loan almost immediately. If Leeds win back promotion and the P&S situation eases, buying back Archie must be on the cards if his career, predictably, stalls at Tottenham. Let's be honest there is no way he is good enough to be getting Spurs to a Premier League top 4 finish. Leeds must be ready to pounce and get him back.

Honestly hoped Rodon would not be a part of the Gray deal since it will diminish the cash we would get for this young, excellent player. But at the end of the day, I have said it a few times and I will say it again: I do not care who goes, who comes in or who our manager is AS LONG AS we get promoted. I'm not getting emotionally invested in players, no matter the names on their shirts. Whoever playes, just get Leeds up, get Leeds competitive, get Leeds in Europe, get Elland Road rocking.
