Man that was seriously unfortunate. Once I got hit on the nose while practicing slip catches. I dived to the right, my mate to the left and it deflected right from his hand and hit my nose. Thankfully I didn't break it. Hope Joe gets his million dollar smile back. Btw great commentary Luke. Really excited for you guys, wish you have a great season. 👍🏼
Luke, glad you enjoyed the tea. As for the pitch its all been said. Talk about worm burners. Surprised to be honest that the seam bowlers were allowed to continue. Luckily no one got hurt. Hope Joe is ok and managed to smile at his inaugaration. Look forward to the cup games at the weekend, hopefully with a playable wicket. Oh and dont worry, you have your low score for the season. Now its only upwards. Right its time to watch the Reds stuff the Submarines, or as the Beatles called it...Yellow Submarine...all the best Dave
Jagota is a class act. Shocking pitch. Don’t suppose Mick Blandford, David Wynn and Adam Jones are coming back for the season ? Be a strong side with them in it. Connor is quality, great easy bowling action oh and he can bat a bit too.
Adam & David are overseas, and I believe that Sussex clubs can only have one overseas per XI? If that’s true then you won’t see them I imagine.

It must have been something with us keepers this weekend! I dislocated a finger taking a catch from a fielder throwing it into me!! Go well Joe!
Reminded me of some of the council / parks pitches I used to play on in South Wales back in the day. Like corrugated iron. Very good job there was nobody properly quick playing in this match. Could have been very messy. Playing it like a T20 absolutely the right way to go.
Well batted on a pitch like that. Felt for poor Joe. One u.14A team I coached while still a teacher had the wicket keeper get two teeth knocked loose at practice. Never a pretty sight!

biggest tip I ever gave a young keeper was always wear a gumshield! every keeper needs too. always stand by that.

I’m a keeper and don’t wear a gum shield and stand up with no lid. Top edge to the face is always a risk but copping lollipop from the outfield even he’ll laugh at. Took it like a champ #KeepersUnion

I watched most of your games last year and was just curious if this is the same commentator as last season.

Worst pitch I've seen in club cricket.
Pitch wasn’t that bad, played on a opposition pitch that got condemned the week after we played on it now that was dangerous!
Apart from the fact the batsman’s foot was up when the bails were dislodged, there was no other reason for it to be called out, shameful umpiring from someone who was doing square leg to square leg for 40 odd overs
