To offer some context for the people who havent watched my testimony yet, i was a kundalini yoga practitioner for about 10 years before coming to Holy Orthodoxy. This is why the book "The Gurus, the Young Man, and Elder Paisios" had such a significant impact on me. As well as the story from the former Greek Hindu that i retold in this video. Glory be to God for leading me out of spiritual delusion 🙏☦️💙

@@lightoftabor i dont believe in anything. Nor does alan watts. He isn’t a guru. He is a spiritual entertainer. Thats all. He shares what he has learned and i listen. Daoism does not require me to believe in anything. It simply shows me how to live a happy life. It worked. There are no miracles to believe. I have nothing against christianity. But that story of Paisos exploding a rock turned me off more than anything because that is silly. I enjoy learning about other religions though, that is why i am on your video. I didn’t mean to offend. 🙏🏻

@@whysosrs5534 I don't believe, I know. I know God is real, I know the kind of miracles He is capable of working through His people. I know because I've experienced them first hand. As anecdotal as that may be, this is why life experience is key. There's a saying that goes "if you stand for nothing, you'll fall for anything." I think that sums up Alan Watts's philosophy fairly sufficiently. Fun fact: Fr. Seraphim Rose used to actually study under Alan Watts before he discovered the unfruitful nature of his teachings. He went on to describe Watts as an "Armchair Buddhist" as there seemed to be a strong disconnect between the faith he claimed to follow and his actual works. Much like the disconnect between faith and works in protestantism. This was before Seraphim Rose converted to Orthodox Christianity and became a Hieromonk. Buddhism in it's original form is still incompatible with Orthodox Christianity simply due to the fact that it has no God, no Creator at the helm. Not only that but it doesn't acknowledge Jesus Christ as the pre-incarnate Logos. As Christ Himself stated, "I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life. No one comes to the Father except through Me." (John 14:6)

@@whysosrs5534 you come in here mocking my Patron Saint in a video where I describe why I chose to honor him and then you act as if you never meant to cause offense? This is gaslighting and it's extremely disingenuous. Here's a quote from an Orthodox Saint on Buddhism:
"True, Buddha appears with traits that are characteristic of God, but along with others like him there are an infinite multitude of buddhas, and each one has reached this blessed state through his own merits; each person, in turn, is faced with a great number of degrees of incarnation into a buddha. This ladder leading from man to the heights leads to a state of Buddha; but why not also extend it downward? Thus… the entire animal world is also equated with Buddha; moreover, the ladder goes even further downward: there are various of degrees of hell invented, which are inhabited by living beings, and they are also in contact with Buddha… Thus, the image of heavenly, earthly, and nether worlds is a huge laboratory in which the countless races of existence swarm, are born, re-born, and in the final analysis become buddhas."

I’m proud of you for coming to Orthodoxy.
Yes - Seraphim Rose really sized up Watts & the western worlds hype with Buddhism.
    Funny thing though,
the Tibetan Buddhist Dalai Lama highly respects the Orthodox Holy Mt. Athos!
Even visited there along with King Charles…

I loved reading the book Saint Paisios the Athenite. In the story you mentioned with the Hindus, what got me was when they asked Saint Paisios what can he do; he said "My God is humble." There is a great story on CZcams which really captivated me as well called Saint Paisios and the alcoholic monk. I just want to also mention that there was also another saint who l think you would enjoy to read about that lived on Mount Athos about the same time as Saint Paisios, I'm referring to Saint Porphyrios.

One more thing, going to heaven after death isn't the same thing as becoming a Saint. Men and women who devout themselves to God in the Holy Orthodox Church can attain Sainthood WHILE ALIVE if they purify their hearts and ninds well enough away from any fallen nature. It only happens while we are alive, that if we attain that level of holiness, God will do miracles through us, and therefore our bodily temples will not rot when we die. These Saint's can work miracles even after death... Their God-given miracle-working "powers" never end and they sork them even beyond the grave. People be healed even at their grave site. Yes, this is 100% real and true!
