Always loved a cover band that the drummer rearranges his kit to the original drummer. Props for you, I know it's not easy but worth it.

Creio que ele tentou imitar o kit do McBrain. Más o Maiden Drummer não usa o china desse jeito, nem o ride. O ride que ele usa fica bem colado com os tambores.
O Ride (prato de condução) do Nicko McBrakn fica em pé mesmo. Posicionado rente ao tom. O Aquiles posicionou seu ride semelhante ao do Nicko. Simples.

Na aces high, por volta de 21:00 dá pra perceber o quanto o Aquiles já está habituado com o pé esquerdo no bumbo e não tanto na máquina de chimbal.
Essas levadas geralmente são mantidas com o pé esquerdo em colcheia pra marcar o tempo, sendo essa uma prática recorrente do Nicko, até mesmo por não usar um bumbo, ou pedal duplo no pé esquerdo.
Ps. Isso foi apenas uma análise...

O Aquiles tocando Maiden é como se fosse a fusão do Nicko com o Clive Burr: a técnica no estilo de um com o peso do estilo do outro. MUITO BOM esse vídeo! Que energia boa! Aquiles muito mestre!

Could it be just something to do with the stage set-up. He's hitting his ride cymbal definitely by accident during some fills and I don't think Aquiles would do that on purpose :)

I've been researching the Paiste cymbal line for a while now.
Their Rude line is designed specifically for hard hitting metal and punk rock drummers.
They're also designed to almost never break...based on "normal" usage.
Whatever "normal" usage means.
Most crash cymbals will eventually crack, if you hit them on their edge often enough, and consistently enough.
You do get a better crash sound that way, but your cymbals tend to pay the price by cracking.
Typically along the sound grooves, at least from my own personal experience.
That said?
Paiste Rude cymbals are typically totally hand hammered from Paiste's 2002/B8 metal.
That means, as a general rule, they are not spun on a lathe and don't have the typical sound grooves one associates with that lathing process.
Their lack of sound grooves makes the Rude line far sturdier than pretty much any other cymbals, by Paiste, or anyone else.
Not Zildjian, not Sabian, definitely not Meinl.
However.
The primary reason I was researching Paiste is my desire to switch away from Zildjian/Sabian cymbals, and because most of my favorite drummers prefer Paiste cymbals.
I love Paiste crashes' ability to cut through heavy amplification systems.
And their ride cymbals and Sound Edge hi-hats.
But.
If you're starting your own research?
Just know that the Paiste Rude line?
Is *NOT* cheap.
They're designed to take a severe beating, yes, but you'll pay for that capability with a few dollars more coming out of your wallet.
I spotted a really nice Rude cymbal pack on Sweetwater that comes with 14" Rude Sound Edge hi-hats.
That cymbal pack also features two ride/crash cymbals, and one crash/ride.
So, essentially five cymbals, but more to the point, a hi-hat, a ride, and two crashes (although all three of those cymbals are designed to be ride cymbals *AND* crash cymbals, both, so it's almost like getting two cymbals for the price of one...almost).
But, even on Sweetwater's website, that cymbal pack alone will run you $1,209.
That might not seem too unreasonable, except that, Sweetwater also sells a brand new black Pearl Export double kick 8 piece drum kit, with a snare, three rack toms, two floor toms, and all the hardware, including bass drum pedals, snare stand, straight AND boom cymbal stands, and a hi-hat stand, for just $1,159.
$50 less for a full double kick drum kit than for that Rude cymbal pack.
So...just keep that in mind.
They're not cheap.
But.
If you want cymbals that are designed to be nearly unbreakable?
Paiste Rudes are your best bet.
(If you want Rude cymbals with that Color Sound finish, the way Aquiles has his Rudes here?
I believe you will need to contact Paiste directly.
I checked their web site, and they don't seem to sell the Rude line with the Color Sound coating on their web site.
So, pretty certain that process could very easily more than double the cost of those Rude cymbals for you.)

Não precisa Aquiles pra fazer uma análise dessa. Quem aí falou em Clive é pq é fã boy dele. Mas era um baterista limitado com um irritante estilo "dançante". Clive era auto didata... diferente de Nicko que já era profissional desde os 13 anos tocando em uma banda de jazz. Quem entende de bateria sabe q não tem nem comparação.
Clive era mais rapido. Mas o Nicko muito mais tecnico
