This was so helpful and inspiring. I read the manual but these creative explorations and also the vision from a developers perspective are truly inspiring. Thank you so much! :-)
Steve, thank you for your great inventions!
Good stuff. I find this kind of stuff fascinating, great tips and ideas. Plus it’s just neat to hear Steve Dunnington’s take on these Mother’s from someone who helped bring these instruments into existence. 🤓
Just bought the couple - I mean dfam and mother32 😉
I love moog! Not only the audio and hardware but the company as a whole.
Thank you for doing what you do!❤️🙏❤️
Congratulations! Without a doubt, a fine buy. Now, you will not want to see any of the new Subharmonicon videos. Trust me. This is exactly _not_ what you want. :-P
Great stuff folks , love my M32 and DFAM, in fact my eurorack shrank significantly once I got DFAM, the most inspiring module available with out a doubt. Genius design . And Yes Please Subharmonicon
signed the petition?
gyzz gyzz Petition ??? For ?
Got my DFAM and all I can say is YES... It is absolutely a beast...Now to get that Mother 32
Another great job! Still, like to see one on the Sub 37 and/or Subsequent 37. Rock on! :)
Got me tweekin on talking drum if you start on that preset then on the dfam sequencer turn velocity of 1 ,4, 7 ⅔ of the way up and all the rest down then turn vco decay and vca decay about halfway ish open and resonance ⅔ the way up and play with cutoff and then your jammin
Peace

Even making hi hats and snares on Mother 32 adds an essential sound to typical drum machine beats. So tempted by DFAM, but two Mother's is kind of enough sounds already.
I have 2 dfams. Thinking if I want a 3rd dfam or m 32. I already have a grandmother.
OOOOOHHHHH, so could you
Patch from the m 32 keyboard out to the DFAM’s tempo input, and get a pretty well tracking square or PW?! I like clocking in funny ways, too! Maybe some CV sequences to make both modulate an LFO AND the TEMPO, so it slows down and speeds up 💈 barber pole style! DEFINITELY something I must try should I ever have the DFAM nearby!! Thanks for sharing this knowledge, always fun to give my ears the exposure to get someone else’s ideas a demonstration!!!
nice video, thanks
I've got a mother 32, and it's connected to my Audio Interface via the 1/4" jack. Even though I can hear the wonderful sounds through my monitors Ableton Live cannot see it :(
Live can see the interface but not the M32. Not sure what I'm missing.
Check your selected inputs/outputs in abletons preferences. Also check the levels/channels in your audio interfaces software?
Please make the Subharmonicon available for purchase.
Neat trick using a mother 32 as a Multimeter :) - 54:08
Here's a tip for those who haven't discovered it yet: I power 2 X Mother 32s and a DFAM (installed in the 3-rack) using just the DFAM's power supply and a 1 into 3 daisy chain power cable. It works great and makes gigging with them much easier.
Awesome! Can you provide a link to purchase one ? Could this One do the trick: www.amazon.com/Daisy-Guitar-Effects-Supply-Splitter/dp/B00C7NTR8E
@@trimusfree That's the one!
this sounds amazing - I have so much kit that even with god knows how many extenders, power is a problem. Thing is - is this 100% safe???
I have two Mother's powered from a single Mother 32 PSU, with a daisy chain cable.
Be careful, at startup M-32 draws something like 800mA, just for a second...I discovered this while repairing one, I was limiting the current to 400mA for safety and the M-32 wouldn't start at all...My suggest is to plug the daisy chain one by one.
LOVE Moog. I would really dig a 37 key and/or desktop 4-voice poly, no FX just the essentials. Maybe like a Sub 37 with a few more mod options.
Matriarch and Grandmother.... are both that... except the 4 voice poly
@@lonzenatorswanagan9243 ...which is why I requested 4 voice poly! I am familiar with those.
I gotcha. I am still trying to learn the finer aspects of connecting my DFAM and Mother 32 (finally got the mother 3 weeks ago). These two are a beast together. I am wanting to get the grandmother next.
@@lonzenatorswanagan9243 Everything Moog makes is top notch IMO, esp in the last 5 years. Sub 37 is such a beast, check it out if you haven't. The mod matrix is crazy
I have been hearing Moog gear for most of my life (50 years) and dreaming of owning a Moog since I was 9 and saw ELP. They are finally getting to a price point that makes them attainable.
I would like a Dfam please.
Vocoder in this format please!

The DFAM makes other synths sound like tiny baby penguin farts.
nothing wrong with penguin farts if that's the tone you're going for though . =)
Like a Wintergreen LifeSaver, and when mama penguin gets her ‘rim shot’ there’s sparks!!!
33:16 .....
I almost only use the HP on my DFAM.
Really? I struggle to know how and why to use the high pass. How do you use it?
