So weird to hear 1998 in the future tense.
Right😢
Brings back memories back of my childhood when I was four years old back at 1997.
I remember watching this! That one Saturday morning ad has stuck with me for the longest
awesome
Same with me. This is one of my favorite VHS openings.

Man this one really...really...REALLY cuts me deep with high nostalgia.
11 minutes of nostalgia in such a simple package how great
1998-1999
@@ryanbearse8831 yep
It's worth mentioning that this particular release of the film used an actual Academy Ratio print Disney prepared for showing in non-widescreen theaters in 1955. (The film was photographed twice for that reason, one in Cinemascope and one in Academy.) All other video releases of this film, including the original 1987 Black Diamond Classic release, use the Cinemascope print (with the 1987 release using pan-and-scan.)
Interesting fun fact. And it's no wonder, now that I think about it, that the 1987 VHS looks quite like the CinemaScope version.
Just Like Sleeping Beauty Lady And The Tramp Also Has A Widescreen VHS Release As Well With A Different Opening To It
Remember this VHS growing up ❤
This just made me so happy…man I remember that feeling of instant happens hearing “and now our feature presentation”
i remember watching the movie several times as a kid. :)
Me too
HPofNARNIA Same.
Same. If only I had it again.
Either one, yeah. Both Brian Cummings and Mark Elliot have been long-time trailer announcer voices at Disney. Why can't they have trailer announcers like them anymore?
He’s dead
@@vivianaespinoza5281rip mark Elliot
@@vivianaespinoza5281, Brian Cummings is still alive.
Whyever Disney doesn't have a voiceover announcer like Brian Cummings for their coming attractions anymore, I'll never know. I would be great at that.
I know. That really stinks, man! 🤔

Reasons why I think that "Watch the Bug's Life Trailer with the Minions" is better than "Pooh's Adventures of A Bug's Life", "Timon and Pumbaa Get A Bug's Life", "Episode XXXV: The Wild Thornberrys Movie" and "Toy Story Gets A Bug's Life":
Winnie the Pooh - Dinosaur (called "Pooh's Adventures of Dinosaur", which is the ninth Winnie the Pooh crossover by DisneyAnimeManiac and premiered on CZcams in November 2009)
The Lion King - How the Grinch Stole Christmas (2000) (when Pumbaa unexpectedly sits on the remote and changes the channel to a trailer for the 2000 live-action film version of "How the Grinch Stole Christmas" in "Timon and Pumbaa Interrupt 4 The Emperor's New Groove", also during Timon and Pumbaa's rewinds of "The Mask" and "The Polar Express", with "The Emperor's New Groove" where "How the Grinch Stole Christmas (2000)" appeared as Suede is the look for this fall and "Madagascar" where "How the Grinch Stole Christmas (2000)" appeared as "The Lion King 1½")
Toy Story - Ice Age (on Timon and Pumbaa's remake of episode XX: Ice Age as "Toy Story Gets Ice Age", because of "A Christmas Story", "Ratatouille", "Shark Tale", "Shrek" and "Star Wars: The Phantom Menace")
I still have this movie on video cassette;-)
So have I.
Me too
I haven’t seen this in years
I have compared both versions of the soundtrack from the Cinemascope and academy ratio versions of the movie besides the aspect ratio. The voices are more louder in the Cinemascope version unlike the academy ratio version where the music and sound effects are louder than the voices. So it's the opposite on the academy ratio version.
That I've actually noticed quite a lot. I mainly prefer the Academy version anyway.

Cool!
After this trailer was made, no one on the planet referred to "Mowgli's Story" as a "classic" ever again.
did Mowgli wear diaper or pull up or lion cloth
So this was the first home video release of the film to feature the original Buena Vista logo. I guess it's because by this time, Disney wasn't attempting to hide the old Buena Vista and RKO logos like they were in the 80s.
***** Why were they trying to hide the Buena Vista logo?
I don't know why; this was mostly in the 80s when they did that. Maybe they thought the name was dated, now that they were called Walt Disney Pictures.
♊sabez♊ who knows
I thought it was fun and fancy free that had the original RKO logo on it's first release tape in 1997.
I have the 1987 VHS of this movie and it doesn't show the logo but the music still plays with the logo not being there.

Disney is supposed to re-released The Rescuers on videocassette on Thanksgiving 1998, but it's moved to January 1999.
+Naminski Nguyen But, they recalled The Rescuers due to a shot of a topless woman and Disney released The Rescuers in March 1999 with the woman censored
I have a copy where it shows the the image of the woman
that special message at the end of the 1998 VHS of Lady and the Tramp is apparently the announcement trailer to Lady and the Tramp 2: Scamp's Adventure, originally release for 2000 but push back for 2001!
Crazy, though, that they advertised it two years before its planned release, or in the other case, three years before its official release. Often wonder why they did that.
Not to mention that Lady & the Tramp 2 was released on VHS & Disney DVD instead of just VHS.

The music in “A Bugs Life” trailer is the music from “Water World”
Opening to Bambi 1998 VHS
The music in A Bug's Life trailer is actually from "Beetlejuice" when Adam and Barbara first discover the "Handbook For The Recently Deceased," therefore finding out they did not survive the car crash with the Volvo Wagon and the bridge, and therefore finding out they are ghosts.
Weirdly, the Canadian version didn't have the Summer of Monkeys preview despite it being a Canadian co-production with a lead actor from Ajax.

Why no mention of DVDS anywhere? DVDs existed in 1998. Disney was behind the times.
Patrick Lange Fuck DVDs lol.
Patrick Lange VHS > DVD. xD
Patrick Lange Totally not trying to be rude, by the way. So sorry if anyone gets offended.
I don't think Disney jumped into DVDs until the following year, but I think Touchstone had some titles out by the end of '98.
Disney has yet to jump in on UHD Blu-ray, probably because the specs aren't really finalized yet. Rumor has it they're waiting for Dolby Vision support on the format.
Disney released The Nightmare Before Christmas on DVD in December 1997, there were no bonus features on it except the film's theatrical trailer.

true
MrGabeanator also Aladdin (Nov. 25, 1992)
And I watched A Bug's Life on November 25, 2018 to celebrate its 20th anniversary. (I also watched Aladdin first that day.) Earlier, in 2015, I saw The Good Dinosaur with my mom and sister on her birthday, around a month after it was released.
Aladdin, A Bug's Life and The Good Dinosaur are the only movies that were released on the same month and date on November 25, but not the same year.
