  • History of Saudi Arabia
In 1727, the Emirate of Diriyah established in the area around Riyadh rapidly expanded and briefly controlled most of the present-day territory of Saudi Arabia, sacking Karbala in 1802, and capturing Mecca in 1803.
Throughout the rest of the 19th century, the Al Saud contested control of the interior of what was to become Saudi Arabia with another Arabian ruling family, the Al Rashid, who ruled the Emirate of Jabal Shammar.
Abdulaziz Ibn Saud, the founding father and first king of Saudi Arabia At the beginning of the 20th century, the Ottoman Empire continued to control or have a suzerainty over most of the peninsula.
In 1902, Abdul Rahman`s son, Abdul Aziz-later to be known as Ibn Saud-recaptured control of Riyadh bringing the Al Saud back to Nejd, creating the third ‘‘Saudi state‘‘.
With the aid of the Ikhwan, Ibn Saud captured Al-Ahsa from the Ottomans in 1913. In 1916, with the encouragement and support of Britain (which was fighting the Ottomans in World War I), the Sharif of Mecca, Hussein bin Ali, led a pan-Arab revolt against the Ottoman Empire to create a united Arab state.
Although the Arab Revolt of 1916 to 1918 failed in its objective, the Allied victory in World War I resulted in the end of Ottoman suzerainty and control in Arabia and Hussein bin Ali became King of Hejaz.
Ibn Saud avoided involvement in the Arab Revolt, and instead continued his struggle with the Al Rashid. With the help of the Ikhwan, the Kingdom of Hejaz was conquered in 1924-25, and on 10 January 1926, Ibn Saud declared himself King of Hejaz.
On 23 September 1932, the two kingdoms of the Hejaz and Nejd were united as the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and that date is now a national holiday called Saudi National Day.

Review your information, Saudi Arabia was not occupied by any country, including the Ottoman Empire. The Ottomans occupied Hijaz and Al-Ahsa only. The rest of the lands of Saudi Arabia were not subject to Ottoman control

@@suleimanthemagnificent1494 the ottomans won and the sauds were exiled to Kuwait. Then, they returned and defeated the neighboring jabal Shammar. After the ottomans collapsed, they conquered a nearby kingdom of hejaz. Then they took a couple other parts plus the empty quarter.

The Emirate of Jabal Shammar🇲🇻 is the greatest, my friend! Look at what the orientalist John Frederick Williams said about the Shammar tribe, which subjugated most of the tribes of the island and which (never allied with the West and did not submit to it despite the continuous offers of Great Britain, France, Russia, and Germany), John said; “When the Astana government consolidated its control over the island, the rebellious Shammar clan presented a strong and continuous challenge to the Ottoman authority. It took a struggle that lasted almost 100 years, on the part of the Ottoman government and also on the part of the British and Iraqi governments after the First Great War, to subjugate the Shammar permanently.” Yes. The Shammar state was in control without oil, and King Abdulaziz took advantage of Britain in order to restore the rule of his ancestors, so he established the Saudi state with the help of Britain..
