    Honestly I know some people would freak out that a little kid is around this stuff but I think it's smart. In today's world I think it's best for kids to know how to operate weapons. Not in the case of like "here boyo, take this stilleto and go show ur friends" kind f thing but like if you had a handgun, show ur kid how to use it. That sounds dumb but still keep everything locked up so they don't hurt themselves but kids will hurt themselves more if they down know how to use something. Teach them the proper ways to hold a knife, hold a gun( making sure it isn't loaded of course), and other things. Like just make sure they know how to be safe with it.

      My kids are educated, disciplined, and taught to respect tools for what they are. Nothing can hurt a person without the will of the person using it. I teach my children to value human life. Apprently you would teach them to judge others' lives. I'll stick with my way, thanks.

    • @DocP91B
      @DocP91B  Před 5 lety +1

      @Random stuff Happens here Someone who cant even be a God damn grown up and spell "Boy" really has no valid opinions on anything in my view. But anyway, maybe you should do some research before commenting. The golden years of early life are the BEST years to set good habit patterns and teach base level lessons like "we respect these tool and don't touch them without Daddy." Your whole argument is stupid anyway though, because anything is deadly weapon if thats what your mind chooses to use it for. A bulky stick, a rock, a hammer, a fucking chair! I guess we need to build the whole world out of Nerf. Or we can teach children to reconize and respect and be safe with those things that may hurt others. Or then again we can just be ignorant judgemental douche bags...like you.

    In response to the 10:05 comment yes they are supposed to be loose, because a butterfly knife is made for quick deployment. If it is as stiff as other knifes it doesn't flip properly. Basicly it is speed sacrificing stability.

    I keep on me at all times a Ganzo 301B multi tool with mag bits. (Old and new Macgyver fan, gotta have a versatile multitool for day to day things)
    For work I carry a Mace pepper blaster in a Kydex sheath I made myself and currently a USMC Style tanto full tang fighting knife as my previous myerco's belt loop broke but will definatly go back to it if I can repair it, I also keep handy a 24" baton in a Kydex I also made myself, usually wedged in between the seats of vehicle.
    I keep a Mtech Ballistic on my seats side that has a glass breaker and seat belt cutter for emergencies.
    On my Bib/Bob, I keep a Bear Grillis fire steel survival knife. And my trucks survival kit has 2 different harpoon knives for fishing/filleting.
    I've been camping before on family property and at parks, but I've only been in a wilderness survival situation once and this type of stuff comes in handy(not just this video self defense stuff), it's always better to have it and not need it, than need it and not have it.

    As someone who has been through the USN SRF-B course, i will tell you that if that pepper spray is half as effective as OC spray, it will get the job done. we get a line of the spray from 3'-5' away, across the eyebrows, and go through a course. It sucks, and that is around 1 second burst. Direct to the eyes/airways, the pepper spray will likely make them forget what they are doing as they assume the fetal position (I say likely because i have seen people not be affected by OC spray).

      What does it mattet which direction it's pointing when it requires physical contact to work?

      Is this one of them? Nope. Im very familiar with kinetic tasers. This isn't one of them. Its amazing how many people on the internet think they are experts on what is going on behind the camera.

      DocP91B again, hes never picked up or seen a tazer, what if it did end up being a projecting tazer, its just common practice to not point weapons you dont know their capabilities at people let alone children

      First of all this one is marked and the documentation clearly says it's not a projectile unit. Second, those are regulated differently that the ones that require physical contact. So maybe I used a poor choice of words when I said I had never seen a stun gun, when I meant I had never held one, meaning a non-projectile, physical contact type. It's painfully obvious that this model does not fire projectiles based on the simple fact that the metal contacts point towards each other. It's not rocket science. A teaser that fires contacts at someone does not have exposed metal contacts at all. Do some research.

    You’re so wrong that Karambits are limited in its defense function. If you’re trained well you can literally control the movement of your attacker and there are many grips, it’s very versatile if well trained

      You are definitely right about karambits but as a rule of thumb best self defense weapons are simple and easy to use since most people wont be escrima ir kahli knife fighters or martial artists in general

    A good solid review, and unlike other people I value opinions including negative ones especially from a former ( I say former because I thought I heard you say when we where deployed) soldier.

    Honestly people need to stop complaining that he is opening knives with his children nearby and swearing. Knife and other weapon safety is something you should establish at an early age and the fact that he is right there as opposed to just leaving it out there alone shows how ignorant this comment section is. Secondly swearing isn't a huge issue simply explain to them that they shouldn't repeat words and explain why. All of you need to mind your damn business and enjoy the video or go about your day.
