  • I used my Lunt 100MT telescope to capture a video of a large solar prominence July 19 2023 from my backyard in Scottsdale Arizona.

    Hi - I am curious, did you shoot several sequences which were stacked into each frame of your video or is the video shown above the actual video sequence you captured ?
    I am looking to get the same scope you are using....

    Do you both with flats? I have tried but my tracking doesn't stay long enough to allow flat and subs without movement in-between?

      Yes I use flats but that's not relevant to tracking. Unless you have a very high end mount like a 10Micron or a permanent observatory, you are going to need to guide on the Sun to make videos. The Hinode guider is the one I use.

      @@AZASTROGUY yes it is very much relevant to tracking. It's not uniform so any movement between flat and sub is not corrected.
