I’m able to pull out all my bits etc and see/understand exactly what you are talking about. Thank you for making a better me. Off to learn more about efiles and bits. This is so interesting and informative! When I went to beauty school we were specifically told not to use e-files. They were too dangerous and hard to control. This was around 1996, so a long time ago. Gel nails wasn’t even a thing back thin. So your tutorials are a dream come true for me!

Clean and concise. I love the flow of your information. Absolutely love it. I've had this playing in the background a couple times. And I was able to pinpoint and go back just from what you were talking about. Subscribe!!!! Wow I mean you didn't just go to 12:00 3:00 6:00 9:00 you went minute by half hour by hour... Wow! Are you a teacher? Darling flawless. If you're not a teacher you are a teacher. Brava I'm sorry I got to check your personal information. I shouldn't even have to ask. I can't believe how information you are. Now there's others out there we've all watched them. You didn't miss a beat. I love that you had a visual for everything.
And your details. Darling I'm a woman of details. I'm about to binge watch your channel. How is it that I've been on here watching nails for this long and I've never run into you. Which is another thing I need to check on how new are you. Doesn't matter you're awesome. Anyone that can be that concise and that detail oriented. You have my heart 💜

OMG your awesome!!!! I love your step by step videos. I was a cosmetology/ nail Pro when my kids were young, since retired and went into nursing- looooong story. But since Covid-19 with no nail salons open, it has forced me to re-examine doing my own gel nails. For the first time in a long time I have my own nails- not tips. So I am re- learning everything from you!! So again thank you. I am only going to be doing my nails. With your instructions- I know my real nails will look almost as good as the salon. I was an acrylic nail tec, Gel is a much different game..

Another one for the hit parade, Liz! I wish I’d known this stuff a year ago when I started getting interested in doing my own nails. HI Liz, I recently found your channel and really appreciate all the detailed, easy to understand tutorials. I am not a professional. To be honest, I haven’t done my own nails in more than 20 years! I was devastated when I couldn't go to my nail tech anymore (hope everyone is staying safe and healthy), but have been playing with my nails for the last however many weeks it’s been since COVID started. Since I’m not traveling to client sites I can do something different / try different products and techniques on each nail to practice. I’ve been wearing dip powder for the last several years and before that always had a no-chip gel manicure. I’m now am getting pretty good with doing my own dip. My biggest issue is getting the product around my cuticle even and as thin as I like it. I generally have always been opposed to efiles. After watching many of your videos I realize it’s most likely because, even though I trust my nail tech, I’ve had bad experiences and don’t have the control to make sure everything is done properly. I broke down and decided to try one and it’s on its way. I think the diamond bits are the best option for me. My question is how do know/what do I need to look for to make sure I’m buying a well-made, quality bit? Thanks!

Liz, I'm a lefty and have a hard time finding left handed bits, so I feel limited when it comes to purchasing the ones that work both ways, am I over thinking that if I have left handed bits my e-filing will be more productive. I'm just a beginner on e-filing and practice daily to improve, but once I start to use my e-file on someone else I would love to have the proper bits, for use. COULDN'T you please send me in the right direction on finding these bits ? I'm loving this series on efiling and learning alot Thank you for putting this out there for everyone to have this knowledge it's very important..

I thought I heard from, Susie from Nail Career Education. That if a person is using e-file and left handed you are supposed to use the reverse setting on the e-file and you should using nailbits designed for left-handed people. You can find the video by looking up Melodysusie and Nail Career Education on CZcams.

Hi first of all thanks for another great and very informative video. I love watching your channel as you don’t talk fast and are very clear spoken where a lot of channels are broken English, muffled or they talk extremely fast. This makes it very hard to watch especially being someone who is hard of hearing and likes to make sure they can follow and understand exactly what is being shown or explained.
I also wanted to (in case you or anyone else is unaware of) let you know that when you are talking about the length of bits and how far is best etc that (and this comes from experience and learning from my husband who works with machinery including bits) that be careful of how far out you place your bits, as placing them too far out can create wobble or vibration in the shaft, this can make job application uneven, unsteady, uncomfortable and in some cases unsafe for you or your client. It can also case the shaft to snap and fly off, yes this can happen at anytime no matter what but insuring you don’t have your bit too far out from the machine hand piece will help minimise this from happening. While it can be difficult to work with a shorter shaft length, only have your shaft placed at 3/4-1” maximum. Please no one think I am trying to be a know it all, I am definitely not, I am new to this industry myself but not to working with certain tools that use this type of technology, and just want to help other be aware of this. After all we all want to make sure that having our nails or doing others nails is done in the best, most comfortable and safest manner for all involved.
Thank You again for a great video and I always keep watch for your new videos.
PS I am not sure if you have done one or not but I am trying to learn about the difference between product types, Acrylic Powders: white, pink, clear, acrylic colour, etc, Gels: soft, hard, bio, sculpting etc, Polygels: tubes, tubs etc, Gel Polishes: bottles, tubs etc, Dipping Systems: colour only, acrylic x colour etc, Use of each type in combination with other if possible: Polygel with acrylic, hard gel with polygel, etc, what can be mixed and matched including colours etc.
And how to remove colour polishes from Acrylic, Polygel, Gel nails other than nail file or drill without melting or ruining the product underneath so can change to another colour or design before refill etc is needed to save time and money for both client and oneself having to completely reapply entirely. If you have or know of anyone who has done any video on these subjects already could you please point me in the right direction with links? Or if you haven’t or don’t know of any would be fantastic if you could cover them in up and coming vids. Thanks again and I look forward to your next tutorial.

Wow I'm Loving this video! I am the biggest bit junky ever! I get probably three new ones every month LOL I can't stop! So that being said, I hate mandrills and I hate seeing them be used on natural Nails though I really do, probably from my personal experience of being out of salon and then burning me with it every effin time😖....not to mention in my personal opinion I think they take off too much nail through the prep even with the smoothest band. Definitely personal preference, to each their own. My mandrel sucks! I did try getting back into using the sanding bands but I swear once you go ceramic or carbide theres no going back.. I mainly hate my mandrel because of how it refuses to hold my sanding band on, and either spends and flames off oar stops. And my nail gel is not the problem. thanks for the great video it's definitely a great refresher for someone like me who left the nail business for several years and definitely useful for newbies! You are a wonderful straight Ford teacher, I would hate to see that talent and education go to waste, I hope you do get paid to educate as well as being so kind as to share your knowledge for free on here.

Your videos are the best ! They are full of great information that isn’t found anywhere else. I’m binge watching all of them. Where can I get your e-file ? It’s so quiet and blue is my favorite color also ?

So if you are right handed and you are doing the left hand, do you just switch the direction you are filing in? I’m actually left handed but I do everything but write with my right hand. I tried removing gel polish from my right hand and I ended up digging into my nails and now my nail bed is super thin causing my nails to crack all the time and my nail bed is discolored a bit. Can you tell that I’m still learning? Yikes!😬

I'm new to your channel and I love your content đŸ„°. Would you do a video on how you disinfect your bits and stuff please. Like things to not use vs things that you recommend.

Awesome video! Very informative. As usual, I always look forward to your videos on Monday’s and have learned a lot from watching them â˜ș quick question, you said there are disadvantage and advantages to using ceramic bits. What are those? Also, do you recommend using diamond bits over ceramic?

    • @TheNailHub
      @TheNailHub  Pƙed 5 lety

Ceramic wears down really quickly. I prefer carbide over ceramic. But ceramic are great if you like them.

It’s so similar to my Dremel bits. The bands are the exact same but I haven’t found any excess glue on mine. I wouldn’t recommend using a Dremel on nails if you haven’t worked with one a lot.
