If he had brought the skywing egg back, glory would be there, so the dragonets wouldn’t have to run away early, the rainforest would be invaded, all of the heirs to the seawing throne would be dead. Scarlet would still be in power. And the war would have gone on for 2 more years, meaning thorn wouldn’t be queen, clays sibs most likely would have died, and so on

What about Hvitur why did the graphic novel leave him out like he never existed his death was a turning point for the whole prologue.
I couldn’t say for sure, but I think they decided to go for this version of the prologue to focus more firmly on clay’s arc.
probably because it was graphic? I do believe there are other pretty bloody scenes in the graphic novels, but I dunno
