- Introducing Bobbing Along, the new show that takes you to the fun-filled filming locations of your favorite TV shows and movies! In this, our premier episode, we travel to Filoli House and Gardens in Woodside, CA for a private tour of the estate with retired curator, Tom Rogers. Filoli was the home of Blake and Krystle Carrington on "Dynasty," and featured in films such as Rent, George of the Jungle, The Game, Heaven Can Wait, and many, many more.

This is a true gem to all of us in the Bay Area. The setting is so picturesque regarding the exterior of the estate and the gardens. It was an actual residence up to the 1970s I believe so the interior is just that a very fine residential mansion. The truly beautiful part of the interior is the Ballroom with its stunningly large marble fireplace and French Chandeliers.
Thanks for this. I have always adored this house from the outside. It is really nice to see the inside. Unlike SouthFork, this house is truly impressive.

I miss him. Tom and his colleague, Christina Syrett, PR manager at Filoli, gave me my big break for Bobbing Along. Their kindness drives me to achieve my goal, a goal Tom encouraged me to achieve as if it were his own: Make the show a hit and get it on television. Thank you, Tom...I miss you.
I remember Arden Villa in Pasadena. It was also used as the Knight Foundation in Knight Rider.
Visited Filoli just last week and loved it. The gardens are so magnificent and the guided tour was extremely interesting.

Thank you for remind us of past childhood memories we watched dynasty series when we were kids with Arabic subtitles ihope if there are special channels for classical American series as Incredible Hulk and falcon crest dynasty Cartoons as well iam Arabic lady citizen new subscriber the decoration of dynasty is very luxurious even cast all actors actresses are very fashionable amazing they do great work

I have visited this beautiful house.
35:38 I'm in 2023 and I can see the project to widen the I405 is still going on. The cranes are rebuilding the high bridge where Mullholland Drive cross the Freeway.
I used to go there as a kid. My grandparents live in Redwood City. Such a beautiful house. The last family to own the house was the Roth family (My last name). Sweeeeet.
The Staircase is also way smaller than the one at the soundstage (since Season 3)the stair rail infront of the white door counts 7 fragments and on set its like 20+ fragments
Wow...very observant! I've tried to find "backstage" photos of the Dynasty sets to no avail.

I´am re-watching Dynasty on DVD ;) I agree there is not even a single photo of the Carrington Mansion Soundstage,all I found was the La Mirage Suite on IMDB.

Thank you. Boy did I love that car. Sadly, it was smashed to pieces last October. A man ran a red light and hit me nearly head-on. Luckily, I was fine and so was he. Losing that car hurt. But I do have a new Jaguar XJ that is maybe even nicer. :)

I would love to see the Colby house, that was shown on the Colbys. I would like to ask you have you seen the real house that the tv program the Colbys used. I also I noticed in season one of Dynasty they did use the inside of the real house, before transferring to a studio in season two.
Dynasty's first season was also in the studio. The shot the pilot at the mansion, then built the sets to match. In season 2, they moved the stairs and rearranged some of the rooms. Bob Celli Thanks and I always wanted to see an indepth look at Filoli. I have been to San Francisco about 20 times and never went to Filoli. Being a huge DYNASTY fan, I always wanted to visit. You should come to Mackinac Island sometime to visit the Grand Hotel. It is beautiful, especially in the summer

Bob,is the Carrington home a real house,where was it filmed,did they ever go to Denver to film in Dynasty?
Hi Brian, the Carrington home is actually called Filoli in Woodside south of San Francisco. I don't believe they ever went to Denver, though I could be wrong. To the best of my knowledge, it was all shot in and around LA.
Bobby. I have a question not related to the Dynasty house. In the show Bewitched when Tabitha was a baby in the crib. They have "what's wrong with this picture"? In it they used a baby boy. Am I right or wrong? I know it's there because I watched in the bloopers.

Bob Celli As you come in the front door and you are talking about the stairs being moving from left to right....There's a door right at the top in the middle.
anthem11212 The door in the very middle of the stair landing goes to a patio. The door on the left of the landing goes to a bedroom suite. The door was locked and Tom couldn't find the key. The suite is used in a film with Michael Douglas--The Game. The door on the right goes to a closet.

No. Members of the Bourne family still hold private affairs at the house on occasion.
The real house looks dark,cold and depressing. TV version is way better.
