    • @gareso

      That's a tricky one 😁 My approach would probably be to generate a matte for the ripped part and apply a tint effect to it as an adjustment layer. I need to try to see if that works though. I'll do that as soon as I find the time ;)

    • @gareso
      @gareso  Před 3 lety +1

      You can change pretty much anything with this technique. For transitioning images you could drop all the images you want on the main comp and control the opacity through the essential graphics panel for each instance.

    Awesome tutorial! I have a question regarding the CC-glass effect. In my comp it says that the CC-glass only works on 16-bit color depth and the 'poster-texture' provided from the assets seem to be higher than that. So I get an error message. Should I just ignore this message?

    Question, Rather than use compound arithmetic and setting that effect to screen, would setting the blending mode of the entire layer to screen not work?
    Otherwise, great tutorial. Love how you make use of key AE principals to create this page turn effect.

    • @gareso
      @gareso  Před 3 lety +1

      The Compound Arithmetic effect is getting the data from a different layer, not the layer itself. So you can't just change the entire layer to screen to make this technique work ;)

    • @mariyas.3304
      @mariyas.3304 Před 3 lety

      If i understand your question right, this just happened to me too. The way I fixed it was based on how the gareso changed the render settings of the back page. Go to the back page comp and look at the CC page turn effect, go to the "back opacity" option. If your back page is transparent this probably isn't set to 100 (mine was automatically at 85). At this point, it's probably red and refuses to be changed since we copied all relative links for this effect a couple steps ago. Toggle down the arrow next to 'back opacity' and you'll see a blue equal sign, little graph, pick whip, etc. Click on the equal sign to unlink this specific parameter and voila, you can adjust the opacity without messing with the rest of the effect. Hope that helps!

    • @fabrizioonori8479
      @fabrizioonori8479 Před 3 lety

      @@mariyas.3304 thanks for the tip (it w0uld have been the same like for the passage of the Render tho)!
      Eventually when I noticed the opacity set on red I just alt-clicked on the clock of the opacity setting and re-established the opacity to 100%. Way faster then the equal but pretty the same thing.

    I have a question
    Is plugin good for motion graphics?
    It's not cheating??

    • @gareso
      @gareso  Před 4 lety

      Hi Durratul! I don't think anything is "cheating" if it gets the job done. In the end we are here to solve communication problems, not look cool for the sake of looking cool. However, if you tend to rely to much on plugins, you'll probably grow dependent on them and miss many learning opportunities. Also, some plugins tend to be very "identifiable" and make your work look less professional, less original and "cheap" to the eyes of fellow artists. I tend to use mostly productivity plugins (plugins that make some tasks easier, rather than creating a visual). That's not to say never use them, but try not to rely too much on plugins and choose wisely if you need to.

    Hey dude, Another great tutorial! keep up the awesome work. Little off topic: last year I got semplice based on your recommendation :) the only downside I have found is the lack of support for json or lottie files. Have you found any workarounds for that? They do allow json code input for a logo in the header, but thats all.

    • @gareso
      @gareso  Před 4 lety

      I love Semplice :) but yes, they also have their limitations. Have you tried contacting the support? I know there's a lot of documentation online on some "hacks". But I think the support will tell you if it can be done or not.

  • @elchattt
    @elchattt Před rokem

    Hi Gareso, I loved this technique. I only have one doubt.
    I replaced the letter A with a video, so that at a certain moment it is torn. My problem is that the part that is going to tear looks a little darker in color. If I add a levels the effect no longer works correctly. How can I make the color the same?

    • @elchattt
      @elchattt Před rokem

      I finally found the solution.
      In the parameters of the Compound Arithmetic effect I found that the "Blend with original" parameter was set to 0%. What I did was to create some keyframes to blend the image and just before it ripped I set it to 0%. I hope if this happens to anyone, this can help you.
