    They don’t get added to the M365 group because technically they’re only requesting access to the SP site. Adding them to the members group gives them access to Teams, planner, etc. depending on what’s attached to the M365 group. Not very intuitive though. I really hope Microsoft makes improvements because approving those access requests can create a big mess of unique permissions all over your site. Denying all access requests and emailing them directly after adding or not adding them to a group is the way to go.

    Hi, is it possible to assign users to a permissions group on mass / by list rather than just one by one?

    Thanks for this! Question, in my organization we are using a communication site for sharing internal news. But we have some external people who wants to have access to this same news. It's a page I think

    • @WonderLaura
      @WonderLaura  Před rokem +1

      You’d have to add external users to do that.

    We are managing permissions on a page by page basis in our SharePoint site with different permission group to control each page. If I want them to be able to see our home page, does the user need to be added as a MEMBER first to the overall site (which would give them access to the home page) and then add to the individual permission group (so they can only see and access the pages we want them to)?

    • @WonderLaura
      @WonderLaura  Před rokem +1

      Yes, unless you are using a communication site, which doesn’t have “members”. I highly recommend using audience targeting for pages instead of permissions, unless you have super secret content that you absolutely need to hide from people.

    Is there any possibility to give permissions to view certain information in Power Apps but not in the sharepoint group? Let me explain.
    The idea is that each person can only view their personal information, but not the rest. I am looking to segment the information by some ID or even email. Is this possible?

    Hello,
    Thank you for your tutorial. I find it very helpful!
    Could you please help me with this issue: How to prevent external users being logged out from SharePoint? Even when during logging in they are ticking off the box to keep them logging, after a while they are being kicked out, must go back to the link, receive security code and enter it to open SharePoint page. I thought that maybe if I add external users by "go to outlook" button, and adding them to outlook group it would prevent it. But when I do that, they can access all web page content, and I can't find them in any library settings/share point group to restrict their access. They are popping up under "Group membership" on the main page with note "Guest"(normally users have note Owner or Member, and it is possible to switch between them, where here it is the only option) I would much appreciate your help. Thank you!

      There’s a tenant level (global) setting that your admin can change in the main SharePoint settings in the admin center.

    Hello :) I have created a group called "Sales Representatives" and I need to set this group to only have access to a certain part of the site (for example, they only see part of the menu) and also to ensure that they only have access to certain pages and posts. Is there any way to do this? I need to set up different groups to access different pages within the same site. Please help me

    • @WonderLaura
      @WonderLaura  Před rokem

      Yes, you can set separate permissions for things like lists, libraries and even pages. Here's my course where I teach that: www.iwmentor.com/courses/site-collection-management

    How to restrict access on a sub-page from my main sharepoint site? Dont know why MS has overly complicated the entire permissions process !

    • @WonderLaura
      @WonderLaura  Před 9 měsíci

      There’s no such thing as a sub-page, but yes you can set permissions on a specific page.

    I have funtionality demand at Sahre Point that I don't know how handle . I should be able to grant sharing content (file/folders) with external , but to specific groups not to default groups of the site. As example I have the folder A on the document libray and I want that only the customized group right "GRP_folder_A_Owner" is able to share this folder or the content of this folder with externals, at same time the customized group "GRP_folder_A_Member" should not be able to share content with external. I have other folder that these groups can't see because don't have rights. If I use the site groups rigths , I can't limit the access to the difrent folders that I have on the document library. I have arround 100 difrente folders for 200 users with many diferent rigths settings . I think that it's not posible to do at Share point or even appling a flow approval process.

    • @WonderLaura
      @WonderLaura  Před 11 měsíci

      I don’t think that’s possible.
