I know what you mean Colette. I go out into our garden every morning and see what's come up overnight. I sit quietly weather permitting and watch the birds coming to the feeders. We have a hare that comes up the lane every day. I love just sitting and taking in everything nature has to offer. Your garden is looking magical!

I was at the garden center and while there someone was asking for a butterfly bush
They were concerned about it being invasive. I was at the checkout when I heard that . Thinking of you and in true form I said, "they are only invasive if you don't have a pair of pruners"! The lady laughed, said how true 😂😂

I envy your rainfall. We are in an extended drought in Texas. A wildfire recently burned over 1 million acres of land and burned down dwellings as well. Sorry for the bummer post. It's just what is going on here. Still I enjoy the verdant magic that is Bealtaine Cottage. Thank you.

Oh wow, I’m doing something similar in my cottage garden now. Mines going to be a door that enters a small wildflower area. I have an old wooden gate that I’ll put on one side. It looks like a fence. So glad I found this tonight.

So beautiful to see Spring unfolding in your gentle landscape as I watch from semi tropical Australia where we are just into ❤Autumn. and days are still around 28C
Your mention of fairies as I watched your garden, made me question whether they really live here in this harsher climate. Don’t get me wrong . I live in a very beautiful rural area. But watching the gentleness of your garden made me long for a taste of that too.

Camellias grow very well here in the Southeastern US. Better in my home state of Georgia than in Florida where I currentlyl live. My red camellias have all dropped to the ground. When I lived in Mississippi ny grandmother's camillias bloomed just after Christmas. Oh and forcythis. I do love those cheerful yellow flowers. They do not grow here in Florida. I grew up dwith them around my home in Atlanta, Ga. THey remind me of my sweet innocnet childhood. I may have lived in the city, but Atlanta is known for it's green spaces. You have to get a pemit to cut any tree down, even that one in your front yard that maybe dieing. The cityof trees. How I miss it. It is too hot here in Florida. Thank you for your videos. They warm my heart.

    Good Evening Colette!
This is actually very magic because I was sitting her planing for an Arch in my Garden and then I took a look at CZcams and there you where making a new one yourself... 👍🏻🙏🏻
I so love the natural "wonky"🤗 shape of it, because for me that kind of Arch seems to have a soul in it, which sturdy and straith, bought ones, do not have (my opinion).. and it is the same with trees, crocked ones have a beautiful shape and soul, I think.... Anyway, you give me so much energy so I have to start building my own Arch. But that has to wait until tomorrow because here the Daylight is fading away more and more and it is time for some evening meal!
So Thank You for this lovely and "magical" video today...
And please give a little hug to Patsy, the little Sweet "rascal" of yours!

I've also never been able to fathom how many here hate trees, and plants that "get in the way of the mower" or drop leaves that "need" to be noisily blown away by a leaf blower, and not swept up into compost or dropped on the grass to break down. (Too unmanly to use a broom?) What species of people are these? My (rented) garden in the Melbourne suburbs is full of 50-60 year old conifers that most neighbours would say are too big for suburban gardens, yet what shade they provide in hot summers, how much grub and bird life they foster, how many frogs live amongst my potted plants, not heard from the neighbour's with his motorised fountain and synthetic lined pond. The more we hear of declining wildlife and ecosystems, why isn't everyone gardening like this? A beautiful rose once pulled me out of the deepest despond, possibly saving my life. What power a beautiful garden has, and yet how little monetary value in our warped urban lives? Thank you, Collette, more power to you!

I LOVE IT! Your garden inspired me to build one last year, just because i loved the look and i figured you used what nature provided. So i had to have trees cut down and i took strong limbs from them to build the arch. Because the trees were Austrian Pines, them limbs had a great curve which allowed me to create a gothic look to the structure. Last year i grew gourds over it. This year I’m hoping for sweet peas and something else

Love your arch...it'll be beautiful with the honeysuckle climbing all over it, thought it looks nice even now!

Oh Collette this video was divine, all the greenery and birdsong, I only have an average size garden, which I love, and everything in it I have grown from seed or cuttings, I have just given my neighbour, a hydrangea camilla cutting which I took last year, she is only young with a young family but luckily she loves her garden also, I am getting on a bit now but I still manage to get out there and Potter, unfortunately I only manage about an hour and a half and then this old body starts to hurt, but I love your vlogs, nature is wonderful, xxx
