Collette, I'm a nun and I absolutely love your channel! I'm obviously Christian but a very holistic one. I'm sure God created us to be much more holistic than we are and to be at one with nature much more than we are. (There's a lot in the Bible about that including that the original role given to Adam was to be a gardener, and when Jesus rose from the dead he was mistaken for a gardener which symbolizes that he is the Divine Gardener.) Anyway I loved this video and something you said reminded me from a line from one our services: "From the beginning you have created all things and all your works echo the silent music of your praise." Keep up your beautiful videos and your beautiful ways of seeing the world and working with nature. x

You are not only a breath of fresh air, but like a friend to sit and listen to first thing in the morning. It is such a delight to follow your dreams and accomplishments. Thank you as always for being a blessing.
I was thinking the same thing. I truly miss those days (before the shut down of the world), my women friends and I would get together at ones home (not coffee shop or such) and have tea, coffee, juice with some bake good the host made "that morning" and we just "shoot the 💩"! Now the world has changed and chaos happened. Six of us is now two 😓.

I too will always refer to we, as I live with my Madge, my rescue greyhound, and her and me are part of each other - just like you and Patsy. I have a tiny front area, but I fill it with trees and plants in pots, and My Christmas tree is still thriving in it's big black pot after 8 years! Every little bit we all do, helps Mother Earth thrive. xxx

I live with my cat Jaxx and always refer to 'we'. I sign cards with our names. We're family!!
I agree about the disconnect from nature. I know someone who calls themselves an 'earth angel' but uses weedkiller, insect repellent and slug pellets! A neighbour takes measures to try and stop hedgehogs coming into his garden as he says they have fleas. The disconnect is profound. Thank you for showing what is possible when Mother Earth is honoured and cared for and the connection is deep.
Maybe you can show your neighbor articles on the internet that shows that hedgehogs actually eat all the harmful pests in a garden including fleas.

Poultry and rabbits would fit into permaculture very easily for the non-vegan crowd too.

Sometimes I think that if we humans moved back to understanding and living as being part of nature so many awful things in this world would be solved. Congratulations on the 20 years, you have re-created some real beauty.
That's perfect for "we". I live with 3 cats and 2 dogs plus my husband. When my husband is out of town for work, I refer to myself and my fur babies as "we" as well.🥰🥰🥰
I always say we. It’s Mighty Thor and me. I’m 75 1/2 and he’s 2 1/2. He loves cozying up to my cookstove.

In 20 years you have created a wonderful woodland full of nature. It looks like it’s always been there. I always think I’m to old to busy and it will be so long for things to grow, but watching you has made me want to do more so I have “ procured “ some and on my way to reducing the lawn , which may save me time too. It was so interesting to hear that Ireland was once so wooded that a squirrel would never have to touch the ground. The same exact thing is said about our eastern part of the US. I'm out here in the plains of western South Dakota, where it's difficult to get trees established with our drought cycles and extreme weather conditions. My dad was a tree lover and planted numerous shelter belts around our homestead and won Conservation awards for doing so. It's my dream to have a garden property as beautiful as yours, some day. Claude Barr wrote the book on growing gardens in our area and taught how to create microclimates to do so. We live on 10 acres out on the prairie and are finally getting enough outbuildings and wooden fences to actually protect our plants. It's my dream to have Quaking Aspens, Russian Olives, and Cottonwoods and whatever else will grow. You keep me excited for my dreams. ❤❤
Thanks for your post...same here in Tucson, way out in the desert, high winds, brutal heat. Your description is fascinating, so glad you're planning carefully to protect your plants. We have to protect every little garden plant, veggies and flowers, quail, rabbits, desert squirrels, lizard, snakes, critters of all kinds destroy plants. Worst are the javelinas if they break into the garden, yesterday found small hole where they are digging under the chain link fence. Good luck to you...keep planting, keep planning!!!

Yesterday I did a "Colette"! I was in my yard pruning, planting and moving things around. I was getting ready to throw away the small branches I pruned when I thought of you. I put those cutting in a container. Today it is raining. This will be interesting to see those cuttings grow. This plant is called "Red Baja Fairy Duster". I currently have two. It would be great to have a couple of more.

We can all make a difference planting trees even if we live in the suburbs. I’m thankful our street of neighbors have a small lake behind us even thought we can now see houses thru the trees on the other side instead of a dense forest. So much land in the U.S. is being bought up by money hungry contractors crowding in as many homes as they can build. So sad. The world is changing.
At this time of the year, when everything is still dormant here (usually under snow, but not this year), the videos of your land, flowers and your work around the property, are very uplifting and give me a boost to start sowing flowers. It reminds me that it will look like that in a month or so. Brings joy. 🙏
It is always a great to see that you've posted a new video. The ads don't bother me and don't last long anyway! I love your wandering around and doing your tasks with your little helper Patsy. Enjoy your weekend. We are having sunshine in Western Oregon and it may get to 71degrees which is a little but scary since we are likely to have another cold spell before the REAL spring arrives. Still, I am planting up primroses and bought another Meyer Lemon tree for my patio, and my hyacinths, also in pots, are delightful. Loved all your birds in video. 💙🌷🌷

Listening to the bird even song and seeing the vibrant life in all forms on you small piece of land underscores how much life can be sustained in a small area - and how we have lost so many species and biodiversity with the “development “ of the land for our purposes and convenience only

I live vicariously thru your gardens. Here in Durham, NC, US of A, we have hot dry summers with up and down winters. Spring brings out blossoms early to greet a late killing frost. You have so many wonderful plants we can’t grow. Thank you for my escape into paradise.
??? All the plants that Colette has shown us--grow very well here in NC. Throughout the years I have grown them, and more--with no difficulty. Don't sell NC short. In fact--North Carolina is one of the most biodiverse parts of the country. Not only do we grow everything Colette grows--we grow more. We are RICH in plant diversity. We have a wealth of plant species.

I am well aware of the plant diversity of. North Carolina. We are casualties of unintended consequences. We live North of what is now 8 lanes of I-85. Been here 25 years in this house. We used to get much more rain before the widening. To compensate we have over the years added rain barrels and cisterns. But they only go so far when we go 5 weeks without rain in summer. Friends to the far North and even South of town get more regular downpours but it splits and misses us entirely. Love North Carolina but our micro climate sucks.

Everything looks so beautiful, alive and happy.For the past two days here, it has been incredibly windy! Too windy to work outside. The weather extremes are crazy these days! I am looking forward to planting this spring. Last year I couldn't due to foot surgery. Doc still doesn't want me to use a shovel, but I think I will just dig with the opposite foot. When will they ever realize that you can't keep a gardening woman down too long, or we will find a way!😂 have a blessed day and give our girl a hug for me.❤

I was sitting on the couch enjoying your inspiring, beautiful video. Watching you transplant your flowers made me jump up and venture out to do the same. I saved a few seeds from an old persimmons tree from the local park, and after planting them in a pot in January, the seedlings were now ready to be transplanted. I will need to find homes for them. They grow slowly and take a few years to bear fruit. At close to 80 years of age, who knows if we will ever be able to enjoy any of them. But is it ever fun to see them grow. Thanks for your inspiration, dear Colette❤

I loved the comment about "we". I've lived alone for many years too, but always used "we" because I had animal companions! Yet a few people questioned me about that. Besides, I always felt that my house when I had it was a living entity. We gave so much to each other!
