- Playstation is continuing to update their games with 120fps. Here are a few that I was able to update and play on my LG 1440p monitor that can support 120hz.

As a hard core destiny 2 player, I loved watching you struggle finding the crucible. Loved the video! Getting the monitor only becuase of the destiny 2 gameplay so it was worth the grind! (I know how tedious the campaign can be)

@@vigilant. Yes mate. Make sure in settings on PS5 you’re in Performance mode, then turn HDR off, I the resolution set to Automatic, make sure you have settings on for Automatic 120FPS and finally, make sure you are using the PS5 HDMI cable. That’s how I’ve got mine to work.
I really need to ask, when you put the 4k signal do u notice any improvements? Like sharper and crisp image ?

Yup adaptive sync will work on 1080p at 120hz. Forgot to put that in the video.

Hey bro I was wondering should I get a Xbox series s with a 120hz monitor and thumb sticks and grips or should I get a ps5 (with no monitor and keep my 50-60hz TV) and get grips and thumb sticks????? Yeah but the thing that sucks is I’ll never touch my ps5 till it can support 1440p, bad move on Sony. Nobody wants an upscale for downscale resolution

It's 4k so it will have a better pixel density but without an HDMI 2.1 port you won't be able to get frame-rates above 60. Which is fine if 4k/30-60 is all you care about. There's going to be very few games that will be able to pull off 4k/120 on a PS5.

You can only get 75fps if ur monitor is 75hz. The ps5 will display 120fps but the monitor won’t keep up. Basically you need a 120hz monitor to get true 120fps. Even though ur monitor is 75hz it should still feel smoother compared on 120fps compared to 60fps

Hey man I need help setting it up when I set it up on ps4 and I put HDR it makes the brightness go down drastically when I take HDR off it goes back to normal I never had this problem with my Qled TV any suggestions?
You shouldn't compare this IPS monitor to a qled tv. I have HDR off on the ps5, set on Vivid, and brightness at 80. But it's all preference. The best thing to do is play a game for an hour and adjust the color to what you like. Then do it again for another game. It's also why they have different profiles for you to set.

@@kevinclark3591 I now play on a ps5 with this monitor and it’s a lot better than when I used my PS4. The gameplay on warzone is very smooth and I don’t have any issues.

The monitor has a 3.5mm audio jack on the back and so does my UE Boom speakers.

@@Swaggyk_00 The process to enabling 120hz is the same for your monitor as for the GL850, so follow that video and it should work.

You only need HDMI 2.1 if you want to play 4k at 120fps. HDMI 2.0 can do 1080p at 120fps or 4k at 60hz

Hey Jon I have this problem with the monitor, whenever I play on fortnite with the same settings and then go to destiny 2 it goes black screen and I have to turn off/on the monitor for it to fix itself?
Going through my settings, looks like sony has added new options for 120hz and hdr support for certain games that support it, has off/always on/on when supported, went with on when supported about see if it fixes it

Yea my previous video game plays on the ps5 is at 4K 60hz, but the monitor is 1440p. I did the same by minimizing the games and looking at my video/monitor settings and it says 4k 60hz. I should've also showed that in this video but forgot.

If you want 4k it will downscale it to 1440p (2k) and for that you just put your ps5 in resolution mode. If you want to play 1080p at 120 fps then you put your ps5 in performance mode. This monitor is good for ps5 without paying crazy prices for monitors.

@@rodfarva633 some monitors have the capability to send a signal to the ps5 to downscale the image from 4k to 2k which is 1440p. This monitor is one of them. So if you put a 4k game on you'll notice when you check video output settings it will show you its downscaled it to 2k which is pretty much the same as 4k to naked eye.

@@rodfarva633 it doesn't support 1440p officially at the moment but will do in the future. But as I said specfic monitors like this and there's a few ASUS ones that are capable of sending the signal. I have this monitor for my ps5 and whether it's at 2k or 1080p it looks insane.

The PS5 seems very finicky on switching to 120hz, but with the help of *HACK_MASTER11* on !n$tagram he was able to add an option in system settings to change it in a future update! Try him!

Lol, the ps5 has two different recording modes so I tried their webm format and the colors were flat. So now I switched back to my regular mp4 recording. I should make a tips and tricks vid on this...

Your statement in the beginning is not totally correct. To play at 120fps on ps5 on this monitor it can only go on 1080 because the ps5 does not support 1440p and the monitor does not support 4k(and hdmi 2.1). Soo long story long. Your screen ends up upscaling the 1080p to 1440p. Which does lead to some quality loss.
Yeah, I think the PS5 can support games 1440p at 120fps. Sony is ridiculous for not including 1440p support from the get go.

No 60hz means 60fps is the max am trying to find one that’s capable ov doing 4k but also plays 1080p 120fps for Cold War and stuff but is so hard finding one
4k 120hz requires hdmi2.1 which this monitor likely doesn't have meaning you are playing at 60hz with 120fps. playing at 4k then downscaling to 1080p then scaling to the monitors res causes lag and is bad for competitive games. 4k at least on ps4 was darker then 1080p and laggier which was not worth it. I cannot speak for ps5 but wouldn't use this setup you have it's not ideal. Playing at 1080p @ 120hz is probably better.

You can’t do 1440p on playstation. Hes talking about playing 1440p, downsampled from 4k. So technically yes, you can’t play at 1440p at 120hz because sony wants you to buy a tv.
I’m not a specific fanboy of either consoles. I got both with this monitor. However, the PS5 is currently trash compared to Xbox Series X when it comes to output support. This monitor is great but only if you care more for performance rather than resolution. The GN850 is a 1440p monitor. PS5 will only support native 1080p with this monitor. Although it will “read” 4K signal from the PS5, it will then downscale it to dynamic, not native 1440p. Bottom line, it’s the year 2021. Please move past 1080p. And if you lost hours of sleep to get a PS5 and this monitor to play downscaled 1440p or native 1080p games, you played yourself.
Get the GN950 if you can shell out the money for it. It’s the best “sweet spot” monitor in the market and it will be solid for at least the next couple years. At least with the GN950 and the PS5, you will get native 4K @ 60fps and 1080p @ 60/120FPS. And if Sony ever enables 1440p, you have that as a native option as well at 120fps.

@@iq-_-qi The LG 27GN950 is a good bet if you want a good 4k monitor. The thing is though if you just wait a bit longer loads of 4k HMDI 2.1 monitors will come out and those are the best for console gaming. Do some research on HDMI 2.1 and y consoles use it. Also if you cant wait for a 2.1 monitor. go for the LG CX that one supports HMDI 2.1. Its a TV though

@@iq-_-qi Ive got the LG 27 GL850 and can honestly say when the games are running at "4k" its really good. But when Cold war runs at 1080p 120hz you can notice its not that sharp but the smootness sort of makes up for it. Im happy with the monitor.

Wrong. If you have a monitor with a built in downscaler like this one you can output the video at 4k, then it automatically downscales it to 1440p and it looks just as crisp
