    Hey right on! That was a great run.
    I'll definitely be choosing wisely which rigs to install portals on, pros and cons for sure.

      Thanks I’ve since put them on a ripper chassis. 👊😜

    I might try some out on my evo pro 🤔 but I would use the different servo mount

      @TJthercGuy  Před 3 měsíci

      Yeah i was thinking a out putting a lay down servo mount on it to.

    OK edit I figured it out! It was, indeed the open diff , the gears didn’t look bad either. It’s just they made the teeth on those gears so shallow like there’s so much play in there so anyway my I converted to a monster truck so I need lock diffs anyway.

    Bro how did you install the wheels I’ve tried like 4 different sets of wheels and I can’t find some that work on my rig

    • @TJthercGuy
      @TJthercGuy  Před 28 dny +1

      I used the nuts the axles had on them to hold the hex’s on as spacers. Just make sure you tighten the wheel nut good so the bad don’t slip. Wider hex’s, wide offset/deep dish wheels will work to.

    Are you running the stock chassis? If this is the weight distribution with an lcg chassis thats concerning.

    • @TJthercGuy
      @TJthercGuy  Před 3 měsíci +1

      Stack chassis and it’s nothing to do with weight distribution. The portals raise the entire rig making it quite a bit more top heavy and there’s not way to lower it any more then full droop because the link geometry and axles hitting the chassis. But long after I upgraded to the ripper chassis and it made a big difference. ✌️😃

      @TJthercGuy well part of weight distribution is up and down not just front to back lol. But thank you for the clarification 🙂

      @@jamiebossert5127 yeah true I just think more of the electronic and battery location.
      Other then the lift from the portals the electronics are in the stock locations on the chassis.

    Bro, I was tweaking all day trying to figure it out lol monster trucks need clothes dips, but I have a good question. I still have the plastic stock lock gifts from the smasher wondering if I shouldn’t just throw those in there since I have metal everything else including metal driveshafts coming.

  • @Diddlemiggers

    I just installed mine in my Fms smasher and I’m trying to figure out what I did wrong. I have eliminated just about everything out the box after installment it’s acting like the gears are stripped, but none of the gears are stripped. The transmission and motor are good wiring good .edit at 4:56. I’m about to check that problem right now and see if that’s what it was. That’s the only gears I didn’t check
    Re-edit got the diff apart, gears look to be good too but I see the teeth are all so shallow . Definitely room for play with all that extra weight hope I can run with locks ima try

    • @TJthercGuy
      @TJthercGuy  Před 22 dny

      Interesting possible the spider gears if that’s not it possible it need shims. But could just be defective contact Rcawd and see what they say.

      @@TJthercGuy I figured it out see I’m running my smasher as a monster with renegade tires and high speed motor not a crawler so I need locks regardless but the open gifts they provide the teeth are so shallow, anyway now I’m wondering whether I should run the metal locks or the plastic diff locks that come stock w the smasher since everything else I’m running is metal including metal driveshaft soon

      @@Diddlemiggers ahh yeah I’d Try the metal lockers. It will tip easier at high speed but so far I haven had a issue. Then again I’m not bashing and there’s no slipper. 🤔

    • @Diddlemiggers
      @Diddlemiggers Před 22 dny

      @@TJthercGuy yeah that’s what I was just thinking I’m bashing daily and it doesn’t come with a slipper. I have it all installed and ready to go, but I can’t test anything yet because I’m waiting on driveshafts
