Steam ejectors, also called jet pumps are equipment that is used to create and maintain vacuum in distillation columns, evaporators, driers, reactors and other processing units. Steam jet ejector is a simplified type of compressor that has no moving parts. Steam ejectors are used as independent equipment for pulling vacuum in system to which it is connected or in combination condensers and with liquid ring vacuum pumps for achieving higher vacuum in the process system. Widely used in vacuum distillation units in refineries and petrochemical plants.

How do I calculate the suction velocity or the secondary fluid velocity upon entering? And when both fluids are mixing? I need equations. Thanks.

Please guys I need your help. I currently want to build a system, that allows hot steam to enter and leave a vacuum while maintaining a specific pressure. I know how to keep the temperature in the system constant at 200 degrees Celsius. I also know how to attend the initial desired pressure. The problem now is how do I make pass hot steam through this system, and allowing the steam to escape the system without changing the pressure of the system? What device(s) could be used to achieve this desire? Thanks for helping out guys .

Your question and problem statement is not clear. Is it that you are looking for a solution to control vacuum in the loop?
