My father said the same to me when I was about 7 and had received a Webster's dictionary for xmas: "You've got a dictionary. Use it!" Some of the wisest words I ever heard.

Thats how my dad tought me to use a lawn mower. He told me to mow the lawn, and when i asked how to use it he told me to go look it up. So i would go to a library and not find any books in how to use the lawn mower. Then i would come home late and he would be frustrated with me for wasting time. He would do it himself. And i would memorize how he did it. My father never voluntarily taught me a single thing in my life.
