Well spoken individual
Great work. Looking forward to more videos of this format 👌🏼
Always seemed to me that the previously paramilitary connected loyalist politicians spoke a lot of sense, such as the late David Ervine. Important that a new Ireland is inclusive of those of us who celebrate their British culture.
Very thought provoking...👍
Unite both communities save the island from this uncontrollable illegal invasion
This is so good! Hoping to see more like this! BTW you sound very distinguished!!🤍💙❤️🤍💚🧡
Thank you so much!!
Moderate unionist here
People in the nationalist/republican community would be shocked how many of us think the same way as Davy
What's best for my Children and Grand Children, what else would a man want ? colours of a flag ? well said Davy Adams.
The ulster unionist can teach the irish government a lot about preserving culture on the island of Ireland, irish and British.
I think Davy has a reasonable approach to this. Do unionists honestly think the South is some scary place? Maybe this is controversial to say but if Unionists think the ROI is like a massive Falls Road type of area/attitude , they would be in for a surprise. Nobody gives a hoot about religion down here. Honestly, I think their culture would be accepted as long as the flag burning stops. Marches and Bonfires are fine in my book. Everybody wants to belong to a culture, obviously Planters Culture isn’t conventional compared to other nations but they are entitled to have it and enjoy it. Craigyhill removed flags off their bonfire which I think is a positive example.
Good Man Davy Adams Leading From the Front Keep up the good work 👍 Great video
Thanks 👍
Fair play to him a man that has sense and not living in the past he's thinking about his grandkids and kid's of the next generation....
I don't see many hard line republicans saying the same about staying apart of the UK it's the same coin but an equal and opposite side especially since the majority of people in the republican state have called sinn féin out as traitors and want nothing to do with them... I'm saying this as a Catholic from the bog side in derry/ londonderry
I don't see where he said he wanted to be in a new Ireland.
The whole point is he is engaging with Republicans and others and trying to change their minds in their own forum.
Very courageous.
As for the Shinners in the south , I can't see how they can be traitors when they havent been in power.
Those voices of hate and spin raise their ugly heads from time to time - I always find it is those that hate that will not engage.
Really Republicans Wanting to Be Part of the United Kingdom? The Ideology of Republicanism Came From The United Irishmen Father of Irish Republicanism Wolfetone Was a Protestant Irishman England The Never Ending Source of Ireland's Political Woes 1798 Those Calling Sinn Fein Traitor's In the South Have a Political Agenda and It's not A United Ireland
@@atroubledlandcreatorwhat's the point of engaging with republicans we know what they want the want British people to leave Northern Ireland it isn't happening they can dream on.
@@atroubledlandcreatorwhat’s your opinion on the sticks whom started the peace process frist ?
What Adams & Co did to the volunteers they betrayed to the guns of the SAS sickens me, im English but know Irish History through my mams family.
Outsider with no skin in the game but the island should never have been split - one country either part of UK or independence for the entire island. Splitting a tiny island in 2 is insane
Disillusioned Kerry man here; irrespective of whether the Island is united or not, it's going to be a totally different place and foreign to us by the end of the century. The white indigenous population will become a minority, being overrun by Third World migrants; hence it will become much poorer, and the quality of life will not be the same.
Immigration is something we should be focused on, but unfortunately that's not going to happen. Instead, we'll obsess over a UI and other trivia rather than the more existential issues confronting us. It's burying one's head in the sand.
This 'Unity Forum' is irrelevant and at worst a distraction, for very soon there won't be orange or green nor British or Irish, but Black and Brown. God help us.
Unfortunately for you we here in Ireland are vastly underpopulated about 5 million shy for a functioning economy. We have not got a proper internal economy, so we are out on a limb when times get tough and exports, which we are entirely dependent on, dry up. Most countries have a fall back to their own economy when times are hard, we don't. It is a global village now and people come and go as they please. Demographics change over time. Look at Poland, we were inundated with Polish people. Now there economy is strong and Poles can stay in their own country. Look at us here in Ireland, we now have full employment. Gone are the days of "no blacks and no Irish".
@@raymonddixon7603Without getting into the pros and cons of immigration, I’d like to know where you got your economic theory from about being underpopulated for “a functioning economy”.
Denmark for instance has a similar population to Ireland and has always been a very successful economy, and indeed still is. Both the left and the right in Denmark maintain a very strict policy of limiting immigration, and have absolutely no plans to double the size of the population, as you say Ireland must do.
@@raymonddixon7603By the way the “No blacks no dogs no Irish” is a myth. Its been fully debunked by now. There definitely were “No Coloured” signs in England before the introduction of the race discrimination laws in the 1960s. The “No blacks no dogs no Irish” sign was mocked up by Irish activists for a festival in London in the 1980s.
aren't we lucky we live in an island paradise, where not one of us has ever had to leave to better ourselves.....
@@tomhayes750 Hard to beat the auld Moral Bullying.
You do realise the Majority of the PUL community don't give a toss about this man.
@duncanstirling5206 what are you talking about you absolute headcase. Republican Paramilitaries killed more Catholics during the troubles than the Army you said were the enemy
@duncanstirling5206 The PUL community couldn't care less about Irish Unity.
The UK is on the way down when compared to the South. The work will be selling reunification to Unionists.
Why not san
What is there to engage Irsh unity is not happening the Ulster Unionist majority won't be forced out of Northern Ireland
Nobody is forcing anyone out of anywhere.
The Unionist majority is dwindling to a mere few thousand with many more Irish nationalists as kids than Unionists , it wont be long until that majority is a memory.
Engaging and talking about our future hurts nobody and in fact will help Unionists understand what this new Ireland will look like.
I've accepted it is coming regardless of what my political views are, its a train coming down the line I can do nothing about other than fight for my views and my communities needs in any new Ireland.
They must accept Unionists and give enough power and respect to the Unionist identity to make it a peaceful process. Nobody wants another conflict - Imagine putting our children through that what we went through - so it is important to engage no matter what your views are, they all must be heard.
@well said atroubledlandcreator
And what majority are you referring to?
@@atroubledlandcreator that's nonsense Irsh population hasn't increased theres more roman Catholics from eastern Europe and other places the vote share hasn't increased since the 90s. Unionist would be persocuted if there was ever a united Ireland it would fail Ireland wouldn't be able to meet spending commitments in the north while not changing taxation the far right Ireland is already on the rise Irsjh people would blame the brits.
@@atroubledlandcreator don't talk about what our children went through Sinn Fien did that to them because they know they could never win a border poll whatever excuses about housing and gerrymandering that was what happened
Absolutely I’d like to see the pro’s and cons of Ireland and the Union.
I personally think Ireland has so many issues ie immigration, homelessness high housing prices. But hey let’s get a debate going!!
Davy your a sell out merchant
Wonder who you’re really working for !
@MervynThompson-dw2jb no he's a realist the sooner the better loyalist and unionist realise this the better the British despise ni and would give it back in the blink of an eye it's a thorn in their side financially and strategically no use to them they consider people in ni as Irish
No surrender !
@MervynThompson-dw2jb surrender to what the reality of what might happen at least this man is living in the future not the past and thinking of his kids and grandkids...education housing health job's it doesn't matter b it ni in UK or all Ireland
@MervynThompson-dw2jb ur living in the past the future of your kid's and grandkids should b paramount
Better than living in Cuckoo Land like you and wee has been Davy
Hard to teach an old dog new tricks. I am in my mid fifties. I can’t see a successful border poll happening in my lifetime. It will take another generation before anything will change here. Still a strong anti Irish sentiment in this troubled society. Ironically from people who live in Ireland.
United ireland will happen in the next 1000 years.
@@masoodahmed2041 Facts: Ulster Unionists no longer have political or numerical superiority in Northern Ireland
Four of the six counties in Northern Ireland have Irish Catholic majorities, and majorities voting for Irish nationalist parties
Unionism has lost its majority at all levels of public office.
Unionism has an ever decreasing voter base. Surveys repeatedly show youth 16-24 have no affinity with it
DUP returned its lowest number of seats at Westminster since 2001
Sinn Fein now the largest party in Northern Ireland across the board - The N.I. assembly, local councils & at Westminster - an indicator of the changing demographics & political direction.
Unionism as an ideology is on the ropes & slipping towards extinction & with it support for N.I. remaining in the UK.
@@JohnnyWeissmuller-iw4pl thanks for the feedback I did not know the voting affinity plates were moving so rapidly, I know they will not accept an reunification with Ireland unless Dublin rules with some kind of federal arrangement to accommodate the Unionist voice.
Not even sure he has a mind of his own.
Good luck with that, Uncle Andy 😂
