So much that is wrong about modern football is encapsulated in this decision.
New sporting director came in.
Let Wagner finish the season off.
Wagner likely knew he was going to get sacked months and months ago
@@joec9108 Perhaps your new sporting director didn't take a look at a mediocre squad that punched well above it's weight just to get to the playoffs, due I'm sure in no small part to Wagner.
But at the same time tho is this bad? If Norwich struggle next season due to bad decisions that just means a club which made good decisions will do better, football is like one big natural selection game in the football pyramid. The well run ones will eventually go up while the ones who aren’t well run will eventually go down
Same as the Hull coach, it's BS isn't it. I'm hoping Argyle (my team) can nab one of them, or really anyone decent, after the Foster destruction.
@@StrikeBolteafc The guy got a mediocre team to the playoff semi-final. You can't seriously advocate sacking a manager because of the possibility that they might have a bad next season.
"David has operated with class and dignity" however we don't work like that, so you're sacked!
Nailed it, great comment, big business, moneymen, they're all a bunch of c**ts these days.
I thought he was safe as he was smiling at the end of the game. He actually looked happier than Farke when they shook hands. Maybe it was smile of acceptance that it was all over for him.
yeah i think this had been coming for a couple weeks, i think he knew what would happen if they didn’t go up
Jeez. So if he won? They wouldn't have? Seems harsh
If Norwich had won, would they have sacked Wagner before the play off final? That would indeed have been a bold move.
I think they would’ve done it regardless of the result of the playoff campaign. The new sporting director has very likely been looking at coaches and possibly been having conversations behind the scenes for some time.
He was getting sacked end of the season whether he got us up or not
@@bradthomson3191why ?
@@bradthomson3191 But why though?
Norwich City should get Steve Cooper in my opinion he was a good manager for us thank you Steve for what you did for Nottingham Forest
I refuse to look at Cooper`s face for a full season, odd game is ok but not for 46
@@UncleMortmight not be a looker but a good quality manager who could do a job for a club in Norwich position is more important.
@@UncleMort He would get you promoted. But you would rather stay in the Championship then? Ok...
@@legionnairegonk4425 Just like he got Swansea up?
Their decision to sack Daniel Farke a couple of years ago, doesn't look like a great one right now. Only time will tell if todays' decision is a good one.
Farke's track record in the PL is poor, but he Norwich at the time was a self-funding club and much of the recruitment was dire. A transfer policy of signing unknown players from foreign leagues is not sustainable in the PL. If Leeds do go up I hope the board provides the funds to sign the players he needs.
Norwich due for a long spell in the Championship this time
Contrary to what people who don’t even watch Norwich are saying in these comment threads. This is the right decision.
While many fans have been calling for his sacking for most of this season, I wanted to see David given a full season in charge. He’s been given that and he’s done well to take us to the playoffs in what has been a challenging season but now is the right time to fully commit to moving in a new direction with our new sporting director. It’s going to be a summer of change with many of the players futures currently uncertain. It is crucial that we get both player and managerial recruitment right and now the supporters can come back and we can all move in the same direction together.
With no parachute payment next season how will you compete?
@@StrikeBolteafc The only way to compete is to recruit properly. You don’t need the most money to win matches, Leicester won the premier league with cheap players who were perfectly recruited and assembled.
He was going by the end of the season whether we got promoted or not, people saying this is bad clearly don’t follow Norwich
Clearly if he'd done the business last night and got you into the premier league with a win in the final he'd have been the best thing since slice bread. So you are saying that if he'd got you up into premier league he was going? Knee jerk reaction is what it was , a scapegoat was needed and the manager is always a scapegoat, nothing to do with the board then?
@@vivabielsamot5828 if he got us promoted he wouldn’t have managed us in the premier league mate, Carlos Cuesta was a talking point ages ago, he was never staying
@@vivabielsamot5828 I’m not happy with the club not just the manager, putting idah out on loan and bringing in an absolute donkey who barley plays is madness
@@bradthomson3191 it seems it's too easy to sack managers when the redl problem lies elsewhere. You sacked farke 4 hours after he'd just won away at Brentford, ok they'd not won in 10 games but he took you up twice and I bet he loved every minute of last night and who to say this new guy is any better with exactly the same players ? Oh but I bet they'll invest in some to prove Wagner wasn't the right man 🤷🤷
@@vivabielsamot5828 mate if you just watch some of our performances this year you’ll know the reason he’s gone, sitting back and absorbing pressure to try and play for the counter, the fans all hate his style of play he’s received his fair share of booing this season
Wagner sacked. Norwich will be mid Table mandems next season. Why would you sack him? He was showing progress. Last year you were 13th and Wagner took charge and he reached the play offs.
I guess it’s time to accept championship just like Watford…
Stupid reaction to losing last night's game where Leeds were on top form for once , they finished in top 6 for crying out loud , just like hull sacking their manager for finishing 7th and just missing out on play offs. No loyalty in the game , it's the club's fault for not making the funds available to sign decent players , the manager can only work with what he's got available to him.
If your not a Norwich fan you can’t have an opinion lad😂
@@bradleyconstable4452 seems like it , think they could just be a tad peed off 🤣
Time for non Norwich fans who have watched at most five of our games this season to call this a disgraceful decision. We have a new sporting director and he's more than entitled to make this change. Wagner was very lucky to be given the entire season.
With Leeds Leicester Saints and Ispwich, Norwich just doesnt stand a chance
@@s100255 It isn't about that, we were very lucky to even get into 6th, everyone below us dropped off when we did and we managed to sneak in. It's the way we've had this cycle of a few months of being good and then a few months of being awful that has annoyed the fans, and we hit one of our bad patches a few weeks before the play-offs and couldn't shake it.
@@Froge0 It's a super hard league to get out of and they's not many good lower league managers around
I’ve seen so many comments today to the effect of: ‘I don’t support Norwich and don’t watch their games but he’s an amazing coach and they are idiots to dismiss him.’ It’s very funny that people who don’t actually follow the club and see how we’ve performed throughout the season feel so much more qualified than the actual club and fanbase to make this call.
I wanted to see him given a full season in charge and I’ll give him credit that I do think he did well to get us into the playoffs. However, I think this is his ceiling and we have to be more ambitious than aiming for a sixth placed finish and then trying to scam our way past much better teams in the playoffs. There will be big changes in the playing staff this summer, now is therefore a good time to get a new man in and start in a new direction with Ben Knapper. I hope we get player recruitment right and can make a serious push for promotion next season. Thank you to David for his efforts but it’s time to move on now.
So with Leeds, Leicester, Southampton etc in this league where do Norwich fans expect to finish? Call me clue less but I don't get it. I thought the play offs was the best they could hope for. If they finish above 6th next season I'll be very surprised. Strange to say the least.
Knee-jerk reactions are never the best all the best ALAW
Wow....
Norwich Fans will know better than I do, but seems rather unfair to me.
From what I have seen of Norwich this Season, I would say the Squad is just not good enough and that is down to the Owners.
Wagner is out, so who is next.
This reminds me of that old saying..."Careful what you wish for".
Bayern Munich fan talking about unfairly sacking managers
@@StrikeBolteafc Liker who?
Name me one Manager that has been sacked unfairly?!
@@neovarleydownes9109 nagalsman
Not sure Norwich boardroom know what they are doing.
The owner should be sacking himself for being stingy and having huge expectations
Why can’t they just say that he was incompetent and has been sacked?.
He got a very poor squad into the playoffs. Seems harsh. All because players who will leave for bigger teams didn't perform in the second leg.
Any club would be grateful to be in the playoffs.
Do Norwich think they have a god given right to be in the premiership or something?
There is no loyalty in football anymore and it’s destroying the game.
It’s not destroying the game. Think about it if Norwich do badly due to bad decisions that just means a club which makes good decisions will survive. Look at Ipswich , they were well run and made good decisions and now they are up. It isn’t destroying football it just hurts those clubs while better run ones slowly pass them. Don’t forget with no parachute payments next season they will struggle
That's ruthless, he deserves better is not his fault the players couldn't deliver when it matters most
I had long suspected that Wagner wasn't really the right man for to take Norwich City back to the Promised Land aka the Premier League.
Several names that I could think of, might be worthwhile considering:
1) Davie Moyes,
2) Graham Potter,
3) Steve Cooper,
4) Steve Bruce,
5) Scott Parker,
6) Steve McClaren,
7) Mark Robins,
8) Ole Gunnar Solskjaer,
9) Derek McInnes
😂 I hope not. McLaren and Bruce must be two of the richest men on the planet the amount of times they've been sacked, sacked for a reason.
Potter is too good for Norwich and couldn't afford him anyway, he'll wait for another prem team
Cooper is probably the most realistic option but whether he would go to Norwich who knows?
Norwich City should be going all out to appoint Davie Moyes as their new manager if they are serious about going back up to the Premier League and if not then Graham Potter is one of the most intelligent British managers currently available.
The same Graham who led Chelsea to the bottom half?
Oh well
The mighty Steve Bruce will take over. Loves his doner kebab with cheesy chips. 😂
You should of kept Farkae!!!
Should have given the man something better to work with. Webber wasn't that bothered at Norwich as he was leaving. What now another recycled coach/manager who has failed somewhere else....David is a true gentleman, good luck and thanks for the journey..
He did great with the squad available. Unless new Sporting Director got some serious funds to spend, he's not doing much better with a new coach.
Sara most likely gone, Sargent and Rowe will have interest, Norwich with less parachute next season will struggle.
I hope Norwich never goes up again.
Same here 🚜💙🤍
Wrong decision, wrong ethics, and just completely cut throat. Norwich were not expected to get promoted... they did well to even reach the playoffs considering gap in quality between Norwich and Ipswich, Leicester and Leeds.
Leeds completely outclassed them on Thursday and I'm sorry, but that's football... one team had to lose and you cannot tell me Norwich's squad have the quality to even play in the Premier League.
Just utterly ridiculous.
Marshall (Leeds fan).....I always feel sorry, when a manager gets sacked straight after a poor performance. Better what Leeds previously did and got rid of their man, a few games before relegation. They must have known for some time that this was a possibility, so why wait until it's too late. Shame.
Thats Disappointing Wagner was a good coach 👍🏴
As long as it's not Wayne Rooney I'm happy. Maybe get David Moyes? hahaha 🤣
Wagner is on his way back to Germany as reported here.
He should have been fired already. Norwich may have gone on a good run of football, but that was coasting on player talent; the tactics were torrid and almost non-existent. He lost the fans by December, it was only a matter of time. The owners were surely linked with a different manager that they had to wait for the season's end to bring in.
Norwich just made a big wrong decision. You can't sack a coach that almost took the club to the promotion that's very wrong so now Norwich can stay in the championship forever
They were the worst side in the playoffs, simple as
Norwich are really 'cursed' on playing Premier League
So harsh bruh Norwich improved shoulde stayed at the job
Breaking: Bayern Munich are in talks with David Wagner.
This is not right
blame the owners!! they go up if there lucky and then they go down and sometimes football is about luck which they don't have 😢
Carrow Road is falling down
Poor from Norwich that. All a load of waffle
Harshest sacking I’ve seen for a while. He lost to a superb Leeds team, think everyone excepted Leeds to beat Norwich
Guess you missed the dross he has served up all season
@@UncleMorthe can’t have been that bad if he got them to the play offs
@@UncleMort that 'dross' got 6th place and it was not always 'dross' and also, he was working with some limitations. It was not his choice apparently to send Idah on loan. An alcholic old centre back by the sounds of it. Who is coming through the youth?
Did you miss the Resonior one a week back?
Im a Leeds suppoerter and i feel Wagner was harshly treated by him getting sacked. Its not easy for a manager to get a team promoted or even in the top 6 of championship. Remember the championship imo is the hardest league to attain this.
Not for Ipswich 😂🔵⚪️🔵⚪️
Carlos Cuesta
Typical football owners
Stupid club. Next coach will still not qualify them
First time I've seen them play this season, how the hell did they reach the playoffs? They were terrible.
I believe they sacked Farke lol
Typical small club syndrome
Hope Norwich never come back up to the premier league, pathetic club
And your opinion is pathetic
Amen to that
Delia been drinking again lol
Frank Lampard would be a perfect choice for the replacement...
Even better, Wayne Rooney
load of rubbish
Wayne Rooney

Terrible choice. Lets hope we stay up next season.
Behave. It’s funny really because I remember people making similar hysterical statements about relegation this season when we were seventeenth in the league…
clubs need to avoid these german managers klopp 1 title in 10 years wagner serial failure tuchel serial failure
Shouldn't have done so
He deserved to continue
