He 's actually kinda relaxed here , watch Rasputin if you want to see him hyped
Definitely have to watch Rah-Rah-Rasputin after this! It's a banger of a history lesson!
***YES RASPUTIN PLEASE***
Ra, Ra, RASPUTIN!
@@Cyssaneyes definitely czcams.com/video/SYnVYJDxu2Q/video.html here's the link
And what about - Luv Trojan Horse ? :-P
When you wanna make a band with your sisters and mum and dad say “take your brother with you”
Comment of the month!!
hahahaha
@@dimitriosales He got it from a the meme. This and the "supermarket cart wheels be like" is used with a gif from this video.
Very funny 😊
😂😂😂
Your face when she started to moan 😂 I was crying of laughter. Too funny!
Best laugh I've had in ages
I was thinking the same thing he said! Glad he had his phones on!!
Nobody moans better than Donna Summer on "Love to love you Baby"
🤣🤣🤣🤣👍
Hehehe I choked with laughter, he looked so bewildered
that guy was brought into the band for his dancing, he didnt actually sing on any of the songs, the guy who wrote all the music is the one singing on the tracks...Farian was the true mastermind behind this band. He had picked three women and a man from a catalog of artists for the formation, and the voice on the recordings was his own. Bobby Farrell, the "lead singer" and dancer in Boney M., simply moved his lips in sync to the songs when performing on stage.
Yep. German guy . Also involved in the Milli Vanilli "scandal"
Yup yup, read about and they admitted that too haha
And it worked so well, as they became a huge sensation
He actually sang this live once and he had a really decent voice :)
Yeah. He thought he'd try the same with Milli Vanilli, but then it didn't work for some reason..
I was just WAITING for your reaction at 4:30 and you didn’t disappoint 😂
😂😂😂😂
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Boney M - by the rivers of babylon is my favorite song of theirs. It's about the Jewish people being taken into exile following the Babylonian conquest of Jerusalem in 586 BC:
Wow! You've really done your research
@@DB-kv5mb or you are that old you simply know
Psalm 137 I wore the grooves out on this album.
OMG I don't think I have laughed so hard in my life as I just did at your face when she started moaning lol! That is the most hilarious thing I think I've ever seen, you were all into the beat and dancing around and then all of a sudden it was an instant switch to this what the hell just happened face lol!
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Every single Boney M song is a banger. They just put you in the best mood 😊😊
His pants are so tight, when he spin and he go down it's giving him a boost of testosterone in his voice
That may be true, but he didn't sing a word on this song.
😆😆😆😆
@@CaptainEO27 fact is, he doesn't sing a word in all songs....it was the producer who sings the male part.....he is called Frank Farian
@@CaptainEO27 I don't know them well. It's the first time I see them. I heard their songs on the radio. I was more a Rock music fan in those years and I was born in 1961 so in 1970 I was 9 y/o
@@Xavier-Denis no problem. You should check out Rasputin and Ma Baker by Boney M. They were a fun band.
They had many great tunes, but please react to "Ma Baker" and "Rasputin". Their greatest imo. Also "Rivers of Babylon"
All excellent
Brown Girl In The Ring another gem.
@@dugjxn Tra-la-la-la-la ;)
Ma Baker is the best I think fucking awesome song! Timeless classic!
Boat on the river is a favourite of mine 😁
This is a German group but Boney M. was a Euro-Caribbean vocal group created by German record producer Frank Farian. Originally based in West Germany, the four original members of the group's official line-up was from Jamaica, one from Aruba, and one from Montserrat. You're Jamaican too if I'm not mistaken right? This at one time was one of the biggest selling groups in the world, besides ABBA and the Beatles.
🇯🇲🇯🇲
Farian did the male vocals here and was also behind Milli Vanilli. Anyone who remembered Boney M wasn't surprised MV lip synched.
My uncle was a disco baby when Bonney M hit the scene, my German grandma is 100 years old now and still love to hear Bonney M. They were a hit in our households lol and you're not kidding the rivalled ABBA!
But the guy in the video didn't sing, he was just a dancer. In fact he lived in my neighborhood in Amsterdam until he died, a few years ago.
@@littleminna you mean he didn't sing enough for your taste lol, he's a performer.
This band was a product, just as the case of Millie Vanillie, designed by the same producer Frank Farian. What we hear isn't Bobby Farrel's voice but Farian's. Bobby passed away in 2010 in Russia.
Yeah, bobby farrell wasn't the singer... but he was hell of a performer
@@Aurora2097 I can remember being a child and trying to do the dance moves... My whole family couldn't stop laughing :P
Lol. He’s bonkers. We loved him in the 70s 😍Try Rasputin, Ma Baker and their versions of Rivers of Babylon. And Mary’s Boy Child (Xmas) x
I was a young woman in the 70s when Boney M were the hottest thing on the dance floor. They were just HUGE here in the UK. And here's the thing, they crossed all music boundaries and age boundaries. My parents were born in the 1920s and they loved By The Rivers of Babylon and Mary's Boy Child. My own favourite is Rasputin. You have got to have a look at that one!
Boney M were HUGE in the UK and I loved them. As soon as I hear one of their songs I have to smile and starting singing it.
"I think it's a 70's song..." You reckon? 😂😂😂
You have just discovered one of my all time favorite guilty pleasures. Bobby Farrell is the man! (RIP) He is lip synching, of course, and I think Frank Farian is the actual vocalist (the guy who brought you Milli Vanilli, remember?). Bobby was from Aruba, if I recall correctly. I think his trademark was that hairy chest, and those moves. You can't stop watching him. "Rasputin" is a classic ("Oh, those Russians!).
yes, thats Frank Farian's voice
All the reactions to Rasputin miss the ending. I think it's politically incorrect now.
I burst out laughing with your reaction to that switch up. Genius! 🤣🤣🤣
I thought you weren't doing any more reactions to 70's song JV. If you still are I'm very glad. Such a diverse era for music. Good work.
In Europe, this was a mega-hit song & youngsters danced to this song like crazy in every disco across Europe. It was their first hit. In fact, nobody heard of Boney M. before. It was in 1976 or 77.
Now react to “Brown Girl in the Ring”, it’s their best song IMO.
Nah that's got to be Rivers of Babylon
I wasn't alive in the 70s or the 20th century in general but my fav song is Sunny🔥
Not true
All boney M songs were great.
Tra, la la la la.
Sweetheart I love watching your reactions to this video, I have tears of laughter running down my face , you have made my day special bless you. Boney M was played a lot on the radio and they were fun to watch and listen to, I remember watching my young sister trying to dance like him and having a wonderful time lol. I was in my late teens early 20's when this came out and it's such a catchy and happy sound that it's hard to stay still to which I saw you were caught bt it too Jayvee. Its late and I'm tired so goodnight my friend God bless you love hugs and peace to everyone Mary-Ellen UK
I sooo loved looking at your reaction to this I still get into the moves 30yrs later but got to say my mum and dad thought the same when it was aired in the UK with the owww owww but we still listened and 30yrs later ❤ I still have the same feeling xxx
We grew up with boney m and we all used to copy their dances and even now when the family get together we still play it and do all the moves cause this eas our past and loves ❤ boney M so much when we where kids and 40yrs later we still listen and dance like it was the first time listening to them xxx
When you took your headphones off to check it wasn't coming from your house lol 🤣🤣🤣
Needs to get me a white suit and learn me those moves.🕺
Go for it 😁
4:33 Nothing to see here...
Just a woman groaning like she is getting some & Jay grateful his headphones are on cause it sounds like porn. Moving along. 🤣
Jamaican parents would have been in there with a beating stick for his butt😂
I spat my tea out
The moaning is absent from the single version (3' 27''). Glad you made us discover the long version.
Brother Jayvee your energy makes the day better. Thanks for your content my man. Have a great day.
You gotta do Rasputin by Boney M next!
Rasputin👍🏿
Bone-y M. Correct, that's how it's pronounced. They have great energy! And yes, "it went from here to there" real fast! 😂 👍
And fersure, Rasputin next from them! Based on true history.
Now you're obligated to do rasputin
and MA Baker
Leading in with night flight to Venus first! (Great drums in that song!)
Loool! I'm actually crying laughing your face was a picture ....Thank you so much for cheering me up in this tedious plague ridden times ...pls never stop these up loads 😂😂
OMG LMAO THANK YOU FOR MAKING ME LAUGH , YOUR FACE WHEN SHE STARTED MAKING NOISES LMAOOOOOOOOO x
Should be sleeping an hour ago but can’t stop watching with a huge smile on my face. Bed time. Or maybe one more clip
Keep being yourself, your smile and heart lights up our days🕺🔥❤️
I just went to read on them and I do remember some of their songs.
They sold 150 million albums and 60 million singles in the 70's
It's the only video wearing this pants, I guess he had an hernia doing his spins 😮
Yeah, he's going to split his difference carrying on like that 😅😅
Also check out to Boney M. "Sunny" big international hit in the 70's, too.
Boney M was very successful in Europe and Latinoamerica in the mid 70´s till the early 80´s. Some of their hits were huge, like Rivers of Babylon, Rasputin, My Baker, and this one Daddy Cool. And yes.... this song is cool
The headphones came off. 😂 Without checking I'm gonna guess this song came out after "Love to Love You, Baby".
But before Hungry Like the Wolf, another moaner.
@@italoblu I've requested Duran Duran up the wazoo. I can't keep saying the same thing.
@@antoinettelopes what are your top choices? I’d say mine are (without prejudice) midnight sun, we need you I believe, you kill me with silence, and, uh, let’s say red carpet massacre or cry baby cry.
@@italoblu Anything really. I'd go for the singles then if these guys like them they can find B-sides, etc., down the road.
So glad you played this. 1970s. My father would blare his jvc stereo on weekends to this and Abba. Boney m was popular in dance clubs in Germany along with Abba.
Boney M are such a joy to watch and listen to. I really like the fact that the girls are pretty much synchronised in their singing and slight dancing, and the dude is just going wild with his 'crazy fool' moves. LOL. A real joy to watch.
I get ripped to shreds for loving Boney M’s music. I don’t care, it makes me want to dance 💃🏻 💃🏻😃
Never gonna be in the music hall of fame but hell you gonna dance to it and as jay shows it's a lot of fun. That's still a great thing
Hahahaha! This wasn't the version that was played on the radio! Love, love, LOVE Bobby. He always danced to the beat of his own drum :)
Song suggestion - "Le Freak" by Chic.
Kings of the Dance💯💯💯💯!!!
These ladies where gorgeous and very good singers.
WUHUUU!!!..I REMEMBER..DANCED IN NIGHT CLUBS TO BONEY M..YES PLEASE..PLEASE..BROWN GIRL IN THE RING!!! THANKYOU FOR REACTION
4.45 takes a turn. Laugh out loud moment with that reaction dude! Also, never knew it wasn’t his voice. Everyday is a school day.
When I was in my first year in college during freshers week a few of us were in my friends’ apartment having drinks before we headed out. We could see a bunch of guys doing the same thing in an apartment in the next block and they all left leaving one guy behind on his own. He put this song on and danced around to it by himself 😂 We came across him later that night in the club and surrounded him singing this song. Great memories 👌🏻
"Rasputin" is my favourite track of theirs, real guilty pleasure stuff. I'm sure I won't be the first to comment that the male vocal was by an old white guy who looked like Papa Smurf, and they got that guy to mime for purely aesthetic reasons.
Their hit 'Ma Baker' (about her real-life criminal gang) was my favourite wholesome song as a small child. It begins: "Freeze! I'm Ma Baker. Put your hands in the air and give me all your money!"
Hooray! I've been asking this song for soooooo long! So much fun. As I have said before it was ABBA v Boney M in the late 70's for pop/disco.
..... and hey Jayvee will we be seeing "One Night in Bangkok" by Murray Head anytime soon? A great song and amazingly it is from a musical - Chess!
"boney m" was fun and always sounded so good.hey jayvee really enjoyed your reaction man ; ) "SUNNY" for reaction jayvee.
My heart is happy. They are my childhood in England. They still play them at partys and clubs there. You have to do Rasputin, Brown Girl in the Ring and Rivers of Babylon.
What did I just watch and webby cant I look away? 😄 This is great!
I never seen this video and I'm surprised as you Jay 😂😂😂 I only heard the album version and it didn't had the lady's voice part 😂😭😭
So Many amazing Hits ! your reaction when she sang some of that "big O" was priceless.
Imagine UK in 1980 and this hits top 10, then a whole string of hits like it, my favourite "By the rivers of Babylon". A great blast from the past... Thank you for triggering those memories.
whenever I see that guy doing his stuff on the stage I have a feeling he took some really nice stuff before the start :D
The group members hail from Jamaica, Montserrat, Aruba,..awesome Caribbean talent
Back in the mid 80's, I went on holiday to Gran Canaria, in the Canary Islands. One of the original female vocalists owned a nightclub there, at a place called Maspolomas. It was named Boney M. It was a beautiful place, wonder if it's still there now ? .....
I love your reactions! I’m 58 so this was my era ,good times💃🕺🏿there name is pronounced bone as in the body
Love it - your reaction to the heavy
breathing part had me in total hysterical laughing 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 really Cheered me up during this lockdown - 👍
Daddy Cool needs to sing some moooore!!!
Boney M has many awesome song that you should react to such as " Babylone", Marbaker, Sunny , Rasputine and more ...
Jay just subbed I 60 year old grew up in 70s with boney m grest songs dance routines they done some thoughtfull songs don't kill the world and Belfast . ma baker rasputin sunny and great holiday song gota go home etc g8 seeing your reaction music can do many things happy sad memories etc g8 seeing your happy reaction enjoyed 😀😀👍👍
Great reaction Jay thanks for sharing 🇬🇧
Major stars of Euro pop. If you went on holiday in Europe in the 70s and went to a disco . Boney was a must.
In the 1970's these guys were one of the hottest imports from Europe. Their Songs were played in Nightclubs and if you can remember it was featured in Boogie Nights. It was also on The Rate A Record Segment on American Bandstand. They also made History by being the only other Group next To The Byrds who had a Hit Record from a Bible Quote "From The Rivers Of Babylon". They also had "Ma Baker", "Rasputin" and their version of "Sunny" which is probably the most Covered One Hit Wonder Song of all time.
Duuuude, I laughed like crazy on your reaction 4:30. That was awesome! I really like your channel! Keep going!
Your reactions always put a smile on my face.....thanks Jayvee.
Haha! This is one of my fave reaction videos you've done xx
Boney M. did a cover of Happy Song (original Baby's Gang) classic tune of Italo Disco. I don't know how many remember it.
Love your energy here Jay❤❤
Ma Baker and Everybody Wants To Dance Like Josephine Baker great tunes! great reaction Jay
There was another song called Daddy Cool, in the UK charts, around the same time, by the UK band 'Darts', & it's also well worth a listen.
It's in a retro Doo-wop style, and Darts were famous for having FOUR lead singers, & the best harmonies of any band of the time!!
You really had me cracking up! LOL
Got to meet the lead singer once in Amsterdam when I was working in the hospital where he was treated.
Just when you think you've seen everything!!! LOL
I confess I had completely forgotten that song. Good one!
Wtf I was on a Boney M marathon and watched your Sunny - Boney M. reaction 5 min ago and then I saw this came out 40min ago! :D
We all went crazy for this band back in the 70's Jayvee. They went to No.1 with Rivers of Babylon and we sang it all day long. They had lots of good tracks and I still play the album to this song today. Sorry to burst any bubbles but his voice is not the voice you're hearing. Most people don't know that their German producer was the voice behind the singer. It spoiled it for me to find that out but I still enjoy them. P.S. You'd love their song: ' Brown Girl In The Ring."
OMG! I forgot how much I loved Boney M. They were awesome live!
Hilarious reaction😂😂Thanks...they had some big hits back in the day❤
Thanks for watching the song very good Jamaican music
JV: Pauses right before sex noises
Me: 🤣😂🤣😂
My mum used to like Boney M's By The Rivers of Babylon, that was until my dad kept playing the Barron Knights version...There's a Dentist in Birmingham. After that whenever the original was played, it was always sung with the Barron Knights words instead.
But my favourite Boney M song has always been the Christmas one, Mary's Boy Child.
One of the greatest disco-groups of the 70's!
Ha ha ha - your face 😂
Try “Yes sir, I can boogie” by Baccara
I think the craziness is seen the best when Boney M performed on Sopot Festival in 1979, you can check the videos : >
Grew up on this... awesome music, awesome moves. Still have memories of my father trying... agonizing, but I will cherish it forever :D
Cheers!
Boney M was the original Milli Vanilli from the same creator. That being said these performances are so damn entertaining! If you haven't already please check out Rasputin.
Mes belles années folles nostalgie souvenirs OMG merci à vous j'ai danser et danser sur toutes les musiques de Boney M 👍🙏💖👏😱😍
4:35 What the hell,I'm so laughing 🤣
You're reaction at 4:41 is priceless!! LOL It's pronounced Bone ee M :-) Would recommend reviewing Boney M Rasputin!! You're reviews are fantastic and always make me a smile.
This is such a funky ass song... love it 🖤🖤
Never seen them before, but it was great fun. Props to whoever suggested this!
Oh it was so cool to be around in the seventies happy days growing up and you cool listening today 🎶😌
Don't tell me that you've never heard Donna Summer's extended version of "I love to love you"... If so... RUN AND WATCH THAT !
Sunny- Boney M is a cheerful one.
big heart! loved it!
