  • New research with psilocybin brings transcendent brain states, hope and comfort to the most unlikely of subjects. New York University School of Medicine
    Anthony P. Bossis, Ph.D. is a clinical psychologist and clinical assistant professor of psychiatry at NYU School of Medicine conducting FDA-approved psychedelic research investigating the effects of psilocybin, a naturally occurring compound found in specific species of mushrooms. Subjective features of a psilocybin-generated mystical experience include unity, sacredness, transcendence, and a greater connection to deeply felt positive emotions including that of love. Implications for the scientific study of psilocybin and mystical experience include the alleviation of end-of-life emotional distress, enhanced psychological well-being, treatment of myriad mental health disorders and a deeper understanding for the study of meaning and spirituality.

      psychedelics stimulate and are the fastest way to the path of enlightenment which is the kundalini yoga. which is the path to immortality, true goal of spiritual baptism and history's most jealously guarded secret. one has the chance to learn more in mere moments then what anybody could ever learn in a lifetime of study even doubting their own sanity. its all hidden in the medical community, religions, government doesn't want to talk about it and its making them all big bucks. if they can hide all of this information from you and make money doing it, they will.

    It's really interesting @11:34 he mentions about how the person "took a tour of his lungs"
    This is one of the exact effects I experienced on magic mushrooms that lead to me finally (and to this day) quitting cigarettes! I would say doing shrooms once is better than smoking tons of cigarettes everyday. How's that for safe drug usage, government?
    Edginess aside, I've seen these help other friends quit smoking too- friends who were FAR more addicted than me for much longer, it doesn't matter who you are or what your condition is- smoking sucks and psychedelics can fundamentally convince some people on levels that just. end. it.
    I don't promote the consumption of these things, they're terrifying. The experience that caused me to quit was very unpleasant, but it changed my life for the better forever. I can however commend you for researching psychedelia and wish you good luck in your future psychonautical endeavors if you choose to [redacted]
    Albeit terrifying, none of the "bad trips" I've had have negatively impacted my life as I came out stronger and with more knowledge. Psychedelics have almost implicitly all gone out of their way to not have a negative impact on my life, no matter how entropic the situation. Most of my experiences, seldom more than once a year, have been left me speechless in the best way possible. I owe the spark that inspired my passion and purpose to psychedelics- music. So, cheers to these magical things. We are so lucky to have them and it's sad bad ppl try so hard to keep them underground. It should all be known!

      @ThugLifeBitches1 Před 5 lety +2

      So I have an issue with how you worded a few things, and I do want to start this off by saying I’m not trying to be mean at all. I’d refrain from using the term bad trip because it doesn’t add anything but fear to people listening to the experience who may be wanting to try it someday, also saying they are terrifying is not the way to word it. Those are all from your perception and definitely don’t speak for everyone’s experiences, and it does add to giving these drugs a bad name. It’s better to think of it as you had challenging emotions or obstacles in your life that you needed to work through or heal from, because from how you describe your experience it seems to have definitely healed you in more ways than one which is amazing! Sometimes those very extreme situations you find yourself in while tripping are exactly what you needed to heal or see something from the right light for it to make sense, it’s something so powerful that like you said it’s impossible to fully describe it. I hope you do continue to try psychedelics because there is so much you can figure out about yourself and help yourself continue to grow as a person, if not though you did at least gain some wisdom and healing from it so you can walk away with at least having that. One last tip I’ll give you in case of future trips is to just let go, you won’t have a hard time if you just accept what is going on and let it happen. It’s when you try and fight what’s going on that will cause those really rough trips and it’s just you causing it. Anyway I wish the best to you

    I have grown up in a town where magic mushrooms grow in the cow fields. It is a very peaceful town. I have travelled around many places in the world now, and still am shaped by the experiences I had at home. The experience of psilocybin is of our entire lives, and we know that even when we forget it it is there. Psilocybin is a guide to what is. Those feelings are so visceral that i cant even control how hard the nostalgia of my trips (and "rolls", MDMA's "stoned/baked/blazed" terminology) hits me. I hope for a future that we tap into a more shamanic practice of these substances, without demonizing people enjoying these at raves, because THAT is a transcendent experience. I want safe and regulated substances and proper education on how to enjoy them effectively. The most dangerous thing about MDMA isnt MDMA, but buying what you think is MDMA only to be basically poison like Fentanyl. My first time is one of the most profound and meaningful experiences of my life.

      Only if you perceive “racism” as hatefulness then yeah sure it can. But when a large group of white nationalists dose on psilocybin and “will” things into existence as a collective group, the impact is huge. Unfortunately it’s going to take some time for people to learn that racial consciousness is an important aspect of enlightenment. Racial groups exist for a reason and no, humans are not “all the same” or just a different colour.

    now I am on antipsychotics, antidepressants, and have two counseling sessions a week trying to find that "peace" I once had. all due to a dark June night back in 2016.
    the trip was fun, but the bad trip was horrifying.
    I woke up, came out of the trip, three days later in my barn. wearing feed bags as armor, wielding a vacuum wand for a sword, claiming to be "king of the universe."
    I occasionally slip back into the trip when I hear certain topics, music, subjects. or see certain objects, or actions from others.
    sure they are fun for recreation, but let the consumer be ware!

      E L at low doses (0.3g dry shrooms and below) , the psychedelic effects of psilocybin are barely perceptible and we are barely aware of the effect they are having on us. The increase of serotonergic activity can be directly mimicked by the brain. Moderate doses (0.5-1.5g) produce closed eyed visuals that seem crazy and unique to the drug but are possible to attain in a sensory depravation setting.

      Megadave well then that's on you. They say you can lead a cow to water but you can't tell them to drink it. Behind you are hundreds of thousands of people who have there whole life change on a "spiritual" level due to psilocybin. Plus I can bet you didn't take enough.
