I like that the fabulous CC endorsed Stuelke. I will be watching the Hawkeyes as a continuation from last year which was my first time watching women’s college ball.
Stuelke shot a ton of those CC assists!!! She practically helped CC earn those Assist stats!!! SHE IS A BEAST!!! I'm surprised how sift-spoken and humble she is.
I think I heard her say “thanks” in the halls of Wash in high school. That’s about it lol

Hannah Stuelke is a pure power forward. Excited to see her play the 4 exclusively. If she can start knocking down the 18 foot jumper. She will be a lottery pick.
If she can develop a mid range shot she can be a pro because she is athletic.

Can't go wrong interviewing an Iowa WBB player. They must go through some media awareness training. Always talking up the team, being grateful, and humble. Can't wait to see Hannah, Syd, Taylor, Jada, Kylie, Lucy, and the rest of the team. It's not going to be like last year, but I hope everyone is still excited.
The great interviews also reflects Iowa recruiting priorities, the kind of person they bring in.
Need more of this. Can't wait! WNBA is so overrated. Iowa's college basketball is much more exciting and entertaining.

It'll be fun watching the new team gel. Interesting mix of bigs and guards and in between. And looks like Olsen is more of an inside, and-one scorer than Clark, like Watkins of USC. Will be interesting to see Watkins and Iriafen and others from the PAC-12.

Sounds like an exciting year ahead. I do believe Jan needs to work with Hannah on leadership and toughen her spirit. She hasn’t yet learned the high competitive nature for the levels she can reach. She’s also going to need better strength training, she’s been injured a bit more than her frame suggests.
Working on leadership isn't something taught. You either have it or don't by natural occurrences.

hannah gets a shot and a little more ball handling and shes gonna be a huge problem.. more than she already is with her ability to run the floor. im excited to see lucy never seen her before but how they talk about her im excited and i went to georgia southern and im from florida.. caitlin has really brought a lot of fans to the hawkeye culture. love that place.
I don't think it will ever get better than the Clark era. It wasn't just Clark that was good/great. But I think Iowa wbb has a good program now and a pipeline into some serious talent that could keep them successful for many years to come.
Two years ago Caitlin said Han a would be a great Iowa Hawkeye.

The Hawkeyes will have a decent team this year, but I expect a big drop off in performance after the loss of their big three.

The team is more a wait and see kind of thing. Is mostly up to the new coach and how she handles her way of coaching. Which I hope the new coach can actually coach a team and be vary on playsets, improve bench players, utilize more player skills, switch more things around, at least have a bit more depth (cause never had any) and more athletic ability. There is a reason they have lost those games (including regular season) and why the other teams better them. Hey, that's facts and I'm just being real here of what the team could work on. More than likely, it's going to take a while and more so the rebuilding years (happens to every sports program, very normal). But hopefully the team makes some improvements.

I'm pretty sure they will treat the best shooter and defender on the team the same way they have been treating her the past 2 years, and that is with not much playing time. Taylor McCabe came in a game last year for 12 minutes and scored 18 points. Clark was in for 30 minutes and only scored one more basket than McCabe. What did she get for her outstanding efforts they only played her for 3 minutes the next game. That's because the TV people went to McCabe after the game and not clark, and that pissed all of them off. They didn't want McCabe out shooting clark so they started minimizing McCabes play. If they don't use her for the star, she was coming out of HS. Iowa won't go anywhere. None of the other players are as good as McCabe. Over 2300 points with nearly 400 3-pointers in HS thats over 100 more 3's than Clark.
I'm really excited for McCabe to play a bigger role next season! Not everything needs to be a conspiracy theory though -- No one ever denied she's amazing on offense. Her defense has been the limiting factor in her minutes her first 2 seasons. She was on the court when the hawks ran a triangle and 2 zone defense, but her defense could be a liability when they ran man-to-man/in one-on-one situations. It seems like she's worked hard to grow that part of her game though, and I can't wait to see what she does this coming year.
Good lord. McCabe is a pure shooter, and will be a big part of the offense. But that was her ONLY responsibility when on the court. Her job was to sneak around the floor on offense while everyone focused on Clark, Stuelke, Martin, and Marshall. If McCabe was forgotten about by the defense she would get the ball and shoot an uncontested wide open three. And she is really, really good at that. However, she has not shown (yet) the ability to handle and distribute the ball, or break down a tight defense focused on her. That requires a far deeper set of skills than being a spot up wide open shooter. Also, her shot is mostly a chest heave rather than a pure jump shot like Clark or Martin, so she really has to be wide open to get her shot off. That's not so easy when you are the defense's first or second priority, rather than their fifth. Don't get me wrong, I too am a big McCabe fan, but I am also realistic about her capabilities. I hope that her skill set has grown enough to justify the praise you are giving her because they will need her a lot this year.
