My favorite is his silent treatment, being ignored is like having a breather from his verbal/emotional/financial/sexual abuses.
Have you tried doing that same back? When he gives you the silent treatment and then comes back and you say 'yeah I liked it better when you said nothing'.... Then walk away.
I was the one that went silent to get away from the toxic black aura.

I found out, the moment u treat them the way they treat u. They revert back to being submissive. Just for a while, just enough to soften your heart again. So they can take another bite before discarding you

After her final eruption I fled and was homeless for six months, living with friends, in my truck, and in hotels... absolutely demanded no contact. Attorneys facilitate all now. I feel for anyone who cannot escape completely and the hell remains attached as locked fang snarl.

I am so sorry. I recently learned this of my mom as well as my boyfriends mother!! The one thing I can say that helped me growing up with narc family members, is to try and compartmentalize if possible. Otherwise it will make us go crazy and self destruct. And then attract subconsciously people like our family members because we have been conditioned to believe that is love. See your family member as your family member. And the bond that goes with it. But also start to view them just as the person they are to the outside world, separate from us. I hope this makes sense. It is the only thing that started to wake me up personally. I started viewing my toxic relations for the individual people that they are, and then it started to make it easier on me to recognize what they did to me as well. I long for a day when there is a cure for narcissism, particularly covert narcs. :(
Try to be gentle with yourself but find a way to protect yourself from the damage. She was damaged too, that's why she is as she she is. It's not an excuse, it's the reason.
I know how you feel I'm 32 and to this day I still forget that I can't always go to her for support

@ivansantana-wu2hs If you have to ask that question, then you are not. Narcissists cannot self-reflect, otherwise, they would not be a narcissist. This situation only applies if you did nothing to provoke the silent treatment.

They have a unique ability to pick something which is wrong, twist something which is right. And make it look like what they're saying is right. I lost my self-confidence when I had dealt with this for the first time. Pure evil! God saved me.
He used to torcher me again n again by bringing out my past with my ex and he put me in a condition where I lacked me self confidence and I was abt to commit suicide

Recognize these signs and remember
these signs work both ways.
If your stubborn like me these signs won't work or bother you.
Just ignore them. Stay focused on the subject at hand to get things taken care of. Dont lose your temper or fall for tactics.
30+ years of working retail has taught me to not let stupid tactics get in your way.

For me it was the passing swipes that hurt the most. I think because they are so casual about the abuse, comments like that would just shatter me inside. She would do it with things that I was sensitive about and had told her thinking she was there to help and support me. Little did I know it was just ammunition to break me.

My (soon to be) Ex husband cheated on me throughout our entire 7 year relationship. I found out about it while being married to him for just 1,5 years and I broke up with him. Now I am with another man and he tells me that I am exactly like him and even worse, because we are still married.
@@Believeinyourself8 actually you know what? When I got the proof that he cheated on me with the girls I always suspected, the only thing I felt was relief. The feeling that the whole damn time (7 years) I was completely right and not paranoid, not childish, not „too sensitive“, not too fat, not dumb, not bad in bed… I had the sudden and relieving realization that I NEVER was the problem. I felt freedom. And I am very careful with that statement because I think that everyone has faults on their own. Over two or three months I cried my eyes out all the while caring for our baby boy, because I was so bitter that I didn’t listen to my gut feeling. After 5 months I went on Tinder because I needed an Ego Push. And I matched with one man. We wrote, we met, we fell in love and he is dear to me and my son. I healed „fast“, because I overthink every single thing and I talk A LOT to my friends and family. I always did. I constantly work on myself to be a decent human being and now most important a good mom. I considered going to therapy. But I am very aware of the path that let me here.
My sisters do all of.this and more. I'm done and will never go back. I didn't lose them. They lost me.

I have been recovering from a severe gaslighting injury from my previous residency last year. I was renting a basement suite in a house. The owners were an elderly couple that didn't live on the property. The couple upstairs were about my age or younger not much. They were foreigners didn't speak English and gaslighting the owner and his wife. Running an illegal business on the property. The wife instantly became jealous of me after I moved in. She was delusional because she thought her husband was going to become interested in me and leave her. She ran a smear campaign on me for 3 years even though I haven't been there for a year. She is still gaslighting me. She is Evil. This is one of the most severe smear campaign campaigns I've ever experienced. If you don't think women can be this narcissistic and Evil.....guess again.

Today he told me, "I'm going to destroy you".😮😢😂, "Whatever". I went home.
I just found out my husband was a narcissist and thought it was bi polar , after 11 years thanks goodness it’s my second marriage and we have no kids .. No need, this has happened over and over again and for him to play me is absurd because I can't deal with him, don't want to let him in and he's done all of these things over and over again. That's hell on earth. Anyway, he isn’t going to get me to stay with him and he knows it. He wants to be a bad person to me then it just adds to all the rest. He's trying to be a good man right now but it's just a ploy. He is so beneath me and that's the way it is. One more sick trick and I can only get so angry or upset and that's that. He can think what he wants and I'm still going to hate him and the tactics just don't get very deep with me anymore. Yes if he starts any funny business while we are splitting up that's going to be his problem and I'm going to make sure I invite the courts into this. Enough is enough. He is trouble and this isn't the man for me and there's nothing more to discuss with him. He tries to get me vulnerable like I used to be but I mean business now.

I’m working on the healing process to become a super empath.
My question is how to deal with a narcissist that you cannot completely go “no contact” and simply just remove from your life?
Unfortunately, this is someone I will have to associate with at least a couple times a year (this is my sister in laws husband ). My wife really loves her sister and her sister is genuinely a good person, but had the bad luck of marrying a narcissistic jerk.
This person has repeatedly shown a pattern of unacceptable narcissistic behavior not just to me but others.
I have stood my ground a few times which led to fights, gas lighting, but dealing with this constantly is frustrating. What’s even more frustrating is I have never been able to talk to my in laws or sister in law openly about this. They don’t like taking about these things and neither does my wife. They realize how he is and just accept it and try to ignore it. But for me ignoring it is very difficult.
I am regularly just thinking of all the things this person has said done and keep thinking what will happen the next time I have to see him. Keep think of scenarios and how I must respond to him. Keep thinking of things I should have said but didn’t because I bit my tongue. It’s very exhausting.
Any advice?

Narcissistic abuser and silent treatment for my friend. Doubted me multiply times, she hid me things for one year, and lately although i had problems, never asked me what i get through, but only asked me if her postgraduate project is ready. A master student with no clue of research and projects. Now, she is using silent treatment because i didn't responded and not open her message. I am coming through a family health problem, and while she was usually call me (she has my number), she chose an empty-what - i- need message from messenger.
I will have the last encounter with her those days, and in return I will use her medicine. After that, i don't want to be friends anymore. She is psychotic and abusive.

Heres just one of the twisted way they talk to you or dont want to give info. One day i simply ask, hey what did you clean the chrome with on the truck? Heres how he dances i call it,,, huh what truck? Me, what? Him: what chrome? Me: what are you saying? The chrome on your truck. Him; what about it? Me: what did you clean it with? Him, the cleaner you mean? Me; oh ok what was the name of the product you used to shine or clean or polish the chrome??!!!!! Him, oh just cleaner. Me: whats the name?!!!! Him of the cleaner??? Oh My God!!!!!!!!! Every time.

I was talking to my narc sister about some privileges I had when we were children. She had privileges but she didnt have all the same privileges because she was 4yrs older. There were advantages to being the youngest (She cant imagine I can remember my childhood) you have to understand narc to understand this one. She thinks if she cant remember or wasnt told it didnt happen or she tells you you are not remembering it the way it was
Same like you Fiona - having a belligerent narc sister who is 4 years older. She was even today trying to use some of these 6 signs to get to "her side" against my mom. All along my childhood was gaslighted and shouted at. Growing up, I became a meek young man. Now at 48, feeling much better thanks to my wife

So.. would this situation be an example of my brother being narcissistic?
The other day I came home after all day of running errands for our parents. I am a live in care giver to our disabled parents. My brother lives at home as well. I have RA and had cancer in the past.
So. I come home completely exhausted and in agony. I get all the groceries put away and make sure our parents are alright and what not. I then get started making dinner, biscuits and gravy. Yes I cut corners in areas, tin biscuits and gravy packets. Did my parents care? No because they saw how tired and in pain I was. My brother on the other hand? I don't think so because he went on with how tired and in pain he is after doing nothing all day. He then went on to say, "Well if you came home with these ingredients I would have helped you make dinner." Like kept going and as he did I started feeling bad about the dinner I made.
I am not sure.. my brother makes other jabs and what not like this. But I am not sure if it is me being too sensitive or him really being narcissistic. This is something that happened a couple days ago.
He's probably watching porn. Porn makes people feel entitled and behave cold and ruthless towards others. He needs Jesus.

If narcissistic personality disorder is a clinical diagnosis the person for you think it's a narcissist should probably be diagnosed first before you start assuming that that's who these people are. It’s really hard to diagnose a NPD. All the while that most of them won’t see a therapist because they think they are better than that.
But people all have narcissistic traits. Some more, some less. This kinds of videos help to look through that. You don’t need a diagnosis to see through manipulation.

I think he’s sleeping with my narc mom whom I’ve had no contact with for over a year now 😅. She’s been calling him at late hours asking for “favors” and he went to go help her out “gas in her car” when he was supposed to be on the way home and he confidently left part out his story until I pressed into why it took so long. He then revealed she calls him sometimes and that she wants to see my kids. She’s the type to try to do that to punish me for not talking to her 😂 wish I was lying. If he is I really could care less, I’ve completely detached emotionally
