  • 5 American Cars RUINED by Clout! If 5 JDM Cars Ruined by Clout didn't make you sad enough, welcome to more sadness. Featuring a side of oof and double serving of sad boi hours. Remember when New Edge Mustang GT's were like $4K? Why are they $10K now? How are New Edge's worth MORE than the S197's, which are faster and better to mod? Okay, I lied about the second part. 3 valve engines weren't the greatest, but out the box they are faster and not gonna lie, that body style is iconic. But I guess the 16V V8 Ford Modular is forever legendary for being in your Grandma's Crown Vic, your Teenager's Mustang, and a literal Koenigsegg Hypercar.

I was looking at 4 door vehicles newer than about 2008, from Camrys to the Chevy SS, and was saving money from my job for a big ass down payment. To my surprise, he brought me a blue ass muscle sedan, with what sounds like a mid-muffler delete (idk yet) 80k miles, and 9 months later I've had 0 issues. It's a fun car and that paint mixed with the exhaust note gets me a couple of compliments a day. I absolutely love this boat.

Heads up when a car is repossessed it's the bank thats repossessing it not the dealership. once the dealership gets their money from the bank there deal is over. whether or not you make your payments is between you and the bank. On some high risk loans the dealership is on the hook for the first payment if the person doesn't make the very first payment but in general it's between you and the bank and when the bank repossess it they sell it at an auto auction, not at the dealer. I have worked in auto sales for 30 years. A lot of used car lots use the auto auctions to fill up their lots. Most of the new new cars on used lots were repossessions. If you're at Bob's Car Care used car lot 2022 Dodge Durango RT it was probably a repossession @@BladedAngel

Certain cars have an image, and Dodge Chargers/Challengers DEFINITELY have one. You know EXACTLY what that image is. It's undeniable. Certain cars get bought by certain people, and when that happens often enough, the image becomes unshakeable. I bought my wife a really nice "certain" used car 20-odd years ago, and it eventually got to where she refused to drive it because of the kind of "wrong" attention she was getting...both from "certain" people, and from law enforcement. You can make this "your truth" all you like, but you're not entitled to a separate set of facts - and the fact is that 15-23 Chargers/Challengers are forever tainted. I bought my Mustang in April 2021. I may not have realized it at the time, but this was probably the last chance I was going to get to buy the car I wanted (in the right color, the right spec, right gen, etc.); because me and my dad were watching the used prices slowing getting higher by the day. In fact, I was originally looking at ecoboosts, but then had to start looking at V6s because the ecoboosts got out of my price range (I was looking at S550 mustangs). I would have bought a GT if I could, but they also were way out of my price range by the time I had enough money to buy a car and even if I was able to buy a GT, I wouldn't have been able to afford the insurance rates I would have gotten for the car (I was a young male driver driving a red muscle car). Thankfully, I found a mustang that wasn't too expensive and it is the one I now own. Sure, it may be a V6, and I know I am going to get some flak for that, but right now, I am happy with the car I have and 300 horsepower is more than enough for me right now; and in my opinion, I 'd rather have my current car that I saved up for and bought myself than any crossover/SUV my parents would have gotten me. Fast forward to present day and I still have that mustang and it's the best daily driver I could have ever asked for. I hope to eventually get a GT at some point in the future, but even when I do, I hope to hold on to the mustang I have now, even after it gets replaced by my next daily driver, because the ultimate dream for me would be to pass my first car down to any son I may have because when I eventually have a family of my own, the world's roads will likely be vastly different compared to what they look like today, and in a world where every car you see on the road is an EV, any traditional car is going to stand out, and I hope any son I may have will want to keep the culture alive.

And that was with 30k plus miles on them. I ended up finding a hell of a deal on a 2012 Camaro convertible with 50k miles on it. At the time, the only cars that weren't overpriced were the Mustangs and Camaros. I love that car, and it surprised me with power it has for a v6. When you mentioned back in 2017 when you bought the mustang gt for $26K, that reminded me when back in 2018, I purchased a 3-year-old Ford Fusion Titanium AWD for only $15k that had low miles. Then back in February of 2015 I got into a semi-truck accident and it totaled the car out. My insurance LITERALLY gave me EXACTLY HOW MUCH I PAID for the car back in 2018 as the payout. I was excited for a moment before I realized that 15K gets you a 10-year-old car with at least 150K instead of a 3-year-old car straight off a lease. I ended up instead getting an 02 Bonneville for $7500 cash that had low miles and was owned by an elderly man. So far it turned out to be a good decision for me. And the car is paid off and it's really fun to drive. I do feel like I definitely overspent on it, but I rather pay more for a car I KNOW I WILL LOVE than for some generic car I might hate.

Congrats on that man! I originally wanted a scat widebody challenger, but the prices were soo insane at the time I ended up with a 2021 Camaro 1ss, no regrets but I still love to see people with widebody challengers they look so good!

I think the thing with the Charger and Challenger is that they're the big loud muscle cars you can spot in a crowd of other contemporary cars. Unfortunately, it tickles the monke brain just right for people who ball on a budget and cannot plan more than a few days in advance. They're usually also the same people who stomp on the accelerator at 5 in the morning.
    _Huhhuh loud pedal make vroomvroom._

I think the relatively powerful motor and how easy they are to chop makes em popular in low income areas, is it a dog whistle to point this out?

In 10 years, it will be a completely different market.
Back in 1991, I bought a 66 Mustang for 600 dollars, basically like brand new. They were everywhere! They made so many of them that 30 years later, you could buy them still dirt cheap. But now is a completely different game. They are hard to find and are very expensive.

My sentiment exactly. My favorite Vette is the 06-13 C6 Z06, and I've loved that car since I was in the 3rd grade.
I love all the Corvettes that have been released since then, but that particular model will always be my favorite and the one I have a personal nostalgic connection with.

Great video i had a 2017 mustang GT with a dealership roush tvs supercharger package i had paid 31k for it 2nd owner at 17k miles i had it for 3 years traded it for almost what i paid for it with lots of mods and i got a hellcat challenger with 38k miles for 45k im 2nd owner nd its beautiful but when looking for this car i came across many many cars that were near totaled or literally rebuilt title. Definitely the first car ive ever looked at where its genuinely hard to find a good example out there.

Hey that's Lake Lanier at around 8:35! I just drove that route earlier today...in my '04 C5 Corvette; I live in Flowery Branch. Well, you did mention that very car in this vid. Paid under $14k in 2021 with 97k miles. I think the C5 prices are still pretty reasonable since it's considered a "mid-life crisis" car. I'm 46, so...yeah but I was wearing Nike Air Max's and to date I do NOT own a single pair of New Balances.

What im surprised at is how 2nd gen camaros and firebirds are so overlooked from 1974-1981 especially 79-81 not the most pretty or firebreathers stock but you can swap the front nose over easily which is now getting expensive, and put an array of engines in, you can get an all around decent car for about 7 or 8k some have a lot of work done already, not a bad bargain for a classic i got my 79 for 2k in 2013 as a roller, when i was 16, Ive had 2 parts cars and found a garage full of OG parts from GM un used still in the boxes, sold some i didnt need and made money

It crazy to see how pricey some of these car have gotten. I am very glad to get my hands on a 2013 Boss 302 for 33k (on the loan, the original sale price was 37k but that was before the down payment). It interesting how imo the pricing of the Boss 302 kinda stayed the same. I like to think of them as hidden gems you can find for sale. You can usually find them listed for around 30k to 40k. They are really great cars with a fantastic engine. Especially with the Trackpak key programmed, the engine really open up for racing!

I sold my S197 Mustang GT for like 7K before mustang prices shot up. I was able to buy another again a few years later in early 2023 and was baffled that they were all $15k so I just went with a challenger RT since their prices were surprisingly low.
