    To be clear. Minelayer does not recieve its damage buff if you hit bugs directly, so if you want that play style, rocket barrage is the pick.

    For those curious about Rockey Barrage. Run aoe radius, double clip, aoe damage and aoe stun. Find a crowd and thank me later ❤

      But is it better than the running bullet hell OC with stun on the minigun?

      @@dirtbikeenjoyer1037of course it is. Bullet hell minigun shreds through ammo and can stun only 2 bugs per bullet if you take t3 stun and 3 if you take t3 blow-through. Rocket barrage is not top ammo-efficient oc as well but is far better. Moreover, it stuns a whole area and I believe still has a bug with stun chance being applied twice - for direct impact and for the explosion. Also rocket barrage does decent single target damage so it makes a strong setup if taken on an elimination mission with a single target secondary if you don’t like or have big bertha. The only drawback is lack of precision on long distances but you normally snipe hvt’s instead of regular gliphids so it makes sense to use secondary for that.

    I honestly love plasma burster missles. It has a little less of a panicky or reactive playstyle, but the amount of damage a single rocket can do is insane. It may not clear swarms super fast, but it can clear an entire wave with 10 rockets from an insane distance. Its honestly my favorite OC for the zipline camping playstyle.

      Oh also I forgot to mention, the plasma missiles insta-delete floating rocks on escorts. I can break like 5 rocks with a single missile. Not sure if it's a bug, but it's cool.

    Salvo charge up speed is effected by ROF so run Rof if you need charge speed. It also gives a damage bonus per rocket of +4 direct and +4 aoe at max charge.

    This is my favorite for the Gunner. It's large Aoe, high damage per hit, plentiful ammo, and guided missiles makes it able to deal with so many scenarios and hordes on the fly. Pair it with the Revolver with elephant rounds OC, and you got a kit that can deal with pretty much anything Hoxxes can throw at you. Aside from getting blown up by Engie's nukes, or Driller's C4 anyways... Great vid as usual!

    When you start on Secondary Weapons, please consider recommending which primary to pair with and why. Such as, which secondary would best offset the disadvantages of using Salvo Module on Hurricane Primary. Thanks

    One use case for cutting off rocket guidance by swapping weapons is to create a small plasma whirlwind when running Plasma Burster Missiles.
    If youre aiming at a larger or flying enemy, when you swap, the rockets will start circling them, creating something akin to Engie's Spinning Death Breach Cutter, except a much larger range.
    You can use this to slow down enemies passing through that area and chip away at the big target while you unload a Bulldog magazine into them for some extra dps.
    You should always run extra stun on PBM anyway, which lets you slow down a small group of enemies for a short while with this, if you dont just wipe em out entirely.

    You do NOW want to be hitting enemy's with the Minelayer you REALLY want them to hit the ground. They get a x2.75 AoE damage bonus and a x1.5 AoE radius.
    As for the Rocket barrage you what to try and load 3 rockets at a time since it will do enough damage to kill grunts. 4 will do it in AoE alone.

    Gunner's coil handgun always go alongside my missiles because of the synergy between setting them on fire and EXPLODING said bugs
    I suggest you do this one in sequence

      I really want to like the hurricane fire mod but I find that by the time grunts would ignite, they're already dead from the damage, rendering it more or less useless :( if it converted more than 30%(or was it 33%) of damage to heat it would be a lot better

      DRG has a weird system where there are three types of fire.
      1) does damage affected by the enemy's fire resistance, but doesn't apply any status effect.
      2) applies heat status but doesn't do any damage
      3) combines both of the above
      Napalm rockets convert a portion of your damage to status only (#2), unlike white phosphorus on scout's boomstick which gives both damage and status (#3). Scout almost always wants the fire conversion mod and Gunner almost never does. Engineer's pgl is an exception where its explosive damage falloff is awful, but doesn't apply to heat from incendiary compound (#2) making it kill grunts more consistently by setting them on fire than by actually damaging them.
      Oh, and if you want an example of #1 (fire damage without status) Driller's thin containment field on the EPC deals fire damage and that's why it's so good against mactera (vulnerable to fire).

    I'm a gunner main he is basically the only class I ever play. In my experience every gun has its own pros and cons and one isn't necessarily better than the other. I personally really like the rocket pod. Other gunners say its too slow coming off of the thunderhead or mini gun which I get but it's not meant for firing super quick imo. Its best for large swarms especially from a distance. You can take out dozens on dozens of glyphids in a few seconds. Its kinda weak against big heavy targets in which case I pull out the brrt with a damage overclock and hit the weak points on the bugs.

    I wasn't a big fan of Hurricane at first, but after I unlocked the Plasma Burster... Man I love this weapon. Hurricane in general with incendiary rockets works insanely well with revolver and volatile bulets/flame nades.
    Rocket Barrage is my second favorite OC. Is it meta? Not at all. Is it fun? Like hell.

    Love this weapon, especially with plasma burster, but was disappointed with salvo module. I feel like you lose "damage per missile" when you charge it up since the spread is so wide most missiles will miss past 5 feet. Would love it if they brought the spread in 40% or increased the explosion radius of the missiles dramatically if they mean for it to carpet an area.

    1:50 you can loose a barrage of plasma bursters onto a big, slow target like a hiveguard and swap to your secondary to shoot it while you're still "shooting" it with the missiles. I was unsure about that OC at first but i love it so much now ❤
    Edit: slap stun on those bad boys and you can do this to praetorians, wardens, whatever you want to have a really bad day :)

    I don't know why, but balanced overclocks seem more like unstable ones as they turn the gameplay upside down, while the actual unstable overclocks usually still have somewhat similar gameplay to the baseline.

    Salvo is really fun, imo. If you count in the amount of rockets needed for each glyphid, you can basically one shot them and not lose any ammo you could've if you accidentally held the fire button for too long.

    guy is unable to use a calculator and see that it does 2x dps of ocless hurricane and one of the higest dps in the game, which is also sustained with 72 ammo mag

    Nice video, very on point. Made me sad by reminding about mediocre existence of Rocket Barrage.
    I mean, i really like the Rocket Machinegun concept, but why Rocket Barrage lacks the MG part? WHERE IS MY BIG MAGAZINE???
    What the point of the upsides and downsides if it gives you the same thing if you didn't used overclock, but now you lack guidance system for accuracy AND RELOAD MOST OF THE TIME.
    Here, out of spite i just made up something to give it more unique identity - an autoloader belt (the idea which i may got from HighFleet)
    "always automatically get a new missile loaded in, one by one, to always be ready to blast your foes with ROCKET BARRAGE"
    Got a extra synergy with Reload Mod to autoload missiles faster, reduces need for Bigger Magazine Mod and Born Ready (Reload Perk)
    Same overclock, About the same time to reload missiles on average, but now this ROCKET MACHINEGUN always gets loaded with at least SOMETHING, making you MUCH more flexible.
    Come to think of it, its like a default Lead Storm Minigun alternative, but based on projectiles.

    tbf rocket launcher is kind of weapon that always repulse me, no matter the build. i just seen to hate every single aspect of this weapon: show projectiles (even with speed upgrade is too slow), guidance (although without it is too inaccurate), firepower feels very underwhelming. somehow despite apparently being so strong it managed to become my most hated gun in drg.

    5:38 I recommend a strange build if you're interested; Minelayer System with Napalm-Infused Rounds and Volatile Bullets. Mixes great horde clear with amazing single-target, just be weary of Mactera and Dreadnoughts.

      While I agree that these video titles are nothing more than click-bait bullshit, there is a legitimate case to be made that minelayer system hurricane is Gunner's strongest option. The closest contender is most likely Neurotoxin Payload on the thunderhead autocannon, but outside of that one overclock the thunderhead tends to have an underwhelming performance whereas the hurricane remains competitive with the minigun even without minelayer system (both plasma burster missiles and jet fuel homebrew are strong alternatives to LSLS for example)
