He partially left RedBull because the car from 2014 onwards changed drastically, meaning that his driving style didn't really suit the car. The 2015 Ferrari was more to his liking, which showed in the results for that season.
Unfortunately he made enemies with the higher ups at Ferrari when he tried to emulate Michael by trying to improve the team's operations. They shut him down saying he should just shut up and drive. As he said once "winning and fighting versus the best is one thing, doing it at Ferrari is another". And we are seeing it today with Charles, they still are not winning titles.
Ferrari and Binnoto ego is what killing them, when they decided building a team full of Italian that's when the downfall started. The reason of Ferrari big success in 2000s is because Michael, Ross Brawn and Jean Todt who doesn't cares with Italian politics but they care much about building winning championship team, at that time more than half incompetent Italian workers sacked, this is why they really have huge big success in Ferrari history. Today Ferrari is no more than a politics team which is pathetic.
When Mark Webber left Redbull to retire from F1 Ricciardo got promoted from Torro Rosso into Redbull where it didn't took him a lot of time to be able to outperforming Vettel. And this was probably one of the reasons why Vettel decided to leave Redbull at that time.

That 2008 Toro Rosso was the same car Red Bull used only with a Ferrari engine instead of a Renault, so the same Newey design with just a different engine, that was still alowed in those days.
Kvyat replaced Vettel. Daniel was already at RB
