    Fun fact- during vettel's prime, lewis once said in an interview, one driver and one team winning so much would bore the fans lol

      Well its true I guess. But F1 is first and foremost a sport. The best driver + car package should win, if people want to watch maximum drama and entertainment maybe they should watch WWE or something else instead.
      I get really annoyed when people think Lewis or Seb or even Schumacher shouldnt have won some titles just to give the fans more variety in those eras. The sport is supposed to be a meritocracy, so obviously the best should win regardless how many times they won before.
      And sadly exactly this pressure for entertainment/ variety seems to have amounted to that disaster of a final race last season. Had Hamilton and Merc not dominated the sport for almost a decade at that point, Im sure the last lap wouldnt have been called the way it was.

    He didn't really "drop off" until 2020. He was exceptional in his Ferrari years between 2015 and 2019 too, twice nearly winning the championship in 2017 and 2018. 2020 was when it went to shit for him, Ferrari had an awful car that year and it didn't suit him at all. Perhaps watch videos about his post Red Bull years with Ferrari, he had many great years with them. Just like Alonso he failed to bring Ferrari back to winning championships, but they both came damn close.

    • @sandalphoncpu
      @sandalphoncpu Před 2 lety +7

      It wasn’t really the fact the car didn’t suit him in 2020. It’s the sudden break up that caused both engineers and strategists not to care a jolt about Vettel’s race setup at all. 2014 and 2016 cars didn’t suit him at all but he still challenged for wins to the dominant Mercedes duo at times.

If you really want to downplay Maldonados one you can downplay sebs because his teammate was up there on qauly too. P1 and P4 showed that the car wasn't to bad in the wets at Monza. Can we please just respect midfield wins Like that. Because Maldonado did beat so many good Drivers that day in a meh Williams.

    9:26 Mark Webber
    And its not only the car that makes a champ...the car is also developed based on the drivers' feedback..they will ask for a car that suits their style...Seb for example likes an stable rear and he was successful with cars that had an amazing rear with the Double Diffuser,Blown Diffuser...cars that maximized the coanda effect...
    And Max likes a loose rear and so far after Ricciardo none of his teammates were able to drive as fast as him with a loose rear...

    The shocked face at 13:30 :)
    I don't know if it sounds more ruthless in english, but what Vettel said was not that Webber didn't deserve to win at all, but that he didn't deserve to be GIVEN the win by team order. Out of respect for both of them being race drivers. Basically, 'If we're not racing, what are we doing here?'

  • @ukrje

    The thing about the Multi 21 incident is, that both drivers where told to put the engine and all of the settings into a position to save the components. It was after the last pitstop circle, both car´s where miles ahead, so they just wanted to save the engines, save some cost´s, and save the 1&2. While webber listend, and turned down the engine, vettel did not, pushing on, risking his engine, and in the fight, risking another collision with webber.

  • @David_C_83
    @David_C_83 Před 2 lety +8

    Teams asking drivers to slow down is nothing new, it's done for various reasons, the main one being reliability. If you're in a position where you either can't do more to catch up the car in front and aren't threatened from behind or you're the leading and 2nd place isn't catching you then you can go slower because the car (mainly the engine) needs to last for various races. It's also done so tires can last the distance you expect them to without dropping in performance. Or you simply want to preserve a good result and avoid a crash or mistake that might take the car out. Vettel is certainly past his prime today but he was still incredible in his days, even if he had the best car on most of those years.

  • @janandreinarag6423
    @janandreinarag6423 Před 2 lety +5

    @ingobordewick6480 Před 2 lety +1

    The F1 games are run and designed by Codemasters. But last year EA bought Codemasters so the F1 2021 game was the first with EA association (although there was nothing in the content from EA). Next year though for the 2022 game, it looks like Codemasters might be using EA's servers for the new gen consoles, but cannot wait for the game nonetheless. F1 games have one of the best career modes about and they just get better every year

    Funny enough had Lewis done good that year and maybe won the WDC he would have stayed at Mclaren and who know who would be along Nico. Nico would have probably been a multiple drivers Champion.. F1 is crazy like that.
