I love how you allow your daughter and Blue to develop their own relationship through trail of errors .. I can see how different Blue is with you compared to her with Capri .. maybe because Capri has decided to indulge in her choice of affection in disregard to Blue's comfort. I find it interesting because I think Capri didn't show us this about her before and I can see how Blue is teaching her boundaries .. I also kept worrying that Blue will get Capri in the eye .. that was terrifying. This was sweet to watch! I can tell Capri has grown up since the last time we saw her :)
Yeah, it is something that has been hard to teach. Capri is a very physical child and I'm not a physical person so for me, I do not have to cuddle an animal or be cuddled by an animal to feel loved. But to her it's important and sometimes Blueberry is receptive to it but most of the time, they aren't on the same page. And Capri is understanding that it makes a negative impact on their overall relationship. It's a constant reminder of, "Will your actions make Blueberry like you more or less?" and having her weigh the experience.
Do birds have the same 5 love languages that people do?
@@carmenattallah6244 I don't think there's any specific studies on that but I do find humans tend to show their love in their love language to their birds and that's why sometimes they do not feel loved in return if the bird doesn't show it the same way.
@@BirdTricks I really think it's great that you guys talk about the 5 Love Languages in relation to humans and birds. I think the book is a great book. It has forever changed my understanding of how people interact. It's interesting to think about it in the ways humans interact with their pets.

My Char Char was an escaped budgie my dad found at the golf course. He was terrified the first night and very aggressive and I turned that into a game called "get the feet" and it amazed me how almost overnight he became the most fun, sweet, playful of all our parrots. I would almost argue budgies are smarter than other birds and they have to be the sweetest of all birds. There is nothing sweeter than a tame, loving budgie

When Capri is thinking hard she looks so much like Dave! I see a lot of Jamieleigh in her laugh too. What an intelligent and kind-hearted child. She’s like a little Eliza from the Thornberrys
It's kind of hard to explain, but seeing how beaky Blueberry can be is almost encouraging haha. My green cheek gets that way sometimes, and since he's my first bird, I still don't always see it coming. I rarely see the birds I follow on the internet get into that mode, so it's nice to know I'm not the only one lol.
Haha my GCC love to chew on me. BUT strangely enough ever since I got him he won't bite me or my husband hard. It just tickles. My FIL asked me if he could hold the bird and he held his hand out and asked him to step up. And that was the first time he bit someone so hard he almost.drew blood. I didn't even know small birds could bite that hard cause Pip (my conure) is so gentle with us always
My Link is similar. He's pretty beaky and will often chew on me, but the strangest things make him actually aggressive. Like when he goes to throw one of his toys on the ground and I catch it and put it back. :P Or when I ask him to step up with a pellet instead of a treat.
This was so validating to see! I have a parrotlet and he gets into moods and I was thinking it was just me and I was doing something wrong.
i've got 3 green cheeks- they are super friendly, but they absolutely get beaky and bitey. they are known for it, in fact. they tend to communicate using their beaks more than some other birds might. i've had holes all over my hands in the hormonal months, and outside of it, they tend to just like to chew and nibble in general.

I can tell you from personal experience that budgies are so underrated. They have lots of personality are trainable and are so fast.They jump from place to place, climb up and down your shirt and your pants and everything they possibly can. they are wonderful little birds to have in your home and if they do bite you it doesn’t hurt that much. Training is critical for them because sometimes they get their little bodies into places they shouldn’t and they need to be trained so you can get them back. My budgie is currently hanging from the bottom of my ponytail and swinging around. If you are willing to put the work in you can have an absolutely amazing relationship with a budgie. they are not a pretty disposable bird to just put in the cage the way many people feel they are. They are lots of fun to have around and give a lot of joy to their owners thanks for showing that.

There are so many scary things happening around us, uncertainty, ect and this reminds me of simple times where this little girl is a little girl with her family. Awww Capri has gotten so big! I have two budgies myself and they start to sing whenever Capri talks. The rest of the time they just fly around and play with eachother

Both Blueberry and Capri are adorable. Capri is amazingly advanced for her age. She has INCREDIBLE emotional intelligence!!! She thinks each answer through before she gives it! She expresses like an adult. You are well and truly blessed to have them both in your life. I could listen to her talk for hours!!
You and your husband should be the proudest parents around. Capri is such a little lady. She loves animals and she listens. I mean I know she's a kid and probably has her times and days but for the most part she's very well behaved. Also intelligent and very caring. She sounds like you when she says I'm distracted LOL

My daughter LOVED this video!!! She is eight years old going on nine and she have our first set of budgies that we saved by rehoming them.. so she sooooo loved this!!! She ran and pointed out all that she learned and then ....THEN... she got her birdie to do the flight trick!!! Thank you SOOO much! You just made her heart sing with happiness!!! She also thinks Capri is awesome!

A few years later I had a baby that I named Capri and I don't think I would have thought of the name if I hadn't met you.
