I love your enthusiasm. Well done and thorough review. I've looked at this setup as well as the Sony zv-1f. I think I'm definitely set on the Gopro. There are just so many options and accessories you can choose and create with. I've been starting with my phone currently but a dedicated camera would be awesome!
that's usually the dilemma - TOO MUCH OPTIONS! hhahah! my recommendation is to acquire a basic setup to get started.
depending on what you're doing (vlogging I assume?), HERO12 Black Creator Edition is really complete. From there i'd recommend a 1 handsfree mount too, something like the "Flexible Grip Mount" or "HeadStrap". & you're enroute to creating some great videos!
Nice overview. I'm surprised nobody else noticed that your wireless microphone was only recording to the left channel. So the right channel is dead. You'll want to sum that to mono in the future when you're editing. Happy vlogging!

Such a great video! Quick question I quit using gopro years ago when they would always corrupt the sd card. Have they fixed that yet? I used to love vlogging on it.
thankfully, i havent had that happen to me yet though. when it comes to sd cards, it's important to use those are powerful enough. & it's also a good practice to format an old SD card before using it on the GoPro.

Hey, great run down. I do have one question. Does it have a cinematic view setting that is more natural with no distorting of the image (fisheye)? I'd like to be able to use it for footage that might be harder to shoot with my larger Canon C70. Thanks!
it does! the "Linear" lens offers a wide, non-distorted view!+ with the HERO12 Black you can shoot in s Log color profile to match it with your Canon

What settings do you recommend for filming on the new GoPro hero 12? And how do you also upload to CZcams to have the option to play it at 2160 quality
hey 4K 8:7 60/50fps is my go-to settings! (depending on the region you are in). For that make sure your video export settings are in 4k: 3840x2160

It 100% shot on the HERO12 Black! Had multiple of them set-up. The product shots with the 'depth of field' was shot on a HERO12 Black + a macro lens

well, depending on your budget, the MacBook ecosystem has really good performance when it comes to video editing. no complains with it so far!

As I understand it the media mod is not waterproof as your video has suggested.
I mentioned that it is water resistant - rain/snow is fine, but NOT submersible underwater.

Hey Mullenm, once you connect HERO12 to the media mod, in settings, you’ll see the option to toggle “FRONT; BACK; or FRONT & BACK”.

Cant believe you cant zoom in on it. Paddle board down the river and want to zoomnin on some wildlife and i cant.
Also have to buy all new equipment to upload it to because it lags on all of my current phone/tablet options.
technically you can keyframe & crop-in in post production! p.s if you shoot in 5.3K - you'll much 4x as much pixels than 4k allow you to retain all those details even when cropping in

hey! for it to power off within a minute or two is strange. A common issue that comes to mind is related to the SD card you're using.
Can you check if you're using a SD card with the recommended specs?

Can you please tell me go pro 12 battery life and there is heating problem?
with the new power management system you can expect longer runtimes. Personally all these years of using GoPro, I have NEVER ran into overheating issues. That's also cause i never had the need to shoot long continuous recordings.

These footage were straight off the HERO12 Black! non-color graded. I was using the Natural color profile
t does NOT come with an SD card so not right of the bat use...
like most cameras, you'd have to purchase a SD card. i'd recommend to select one that is compatible too!

Great setup but something seems off with the image. It just seems to digital. There's no authenticity.

Too heavy. The GoPro is the most underrated vlogging camera. No one wants an 80D in their face.
I found the quality just not worth it for the upgrade, looks similar to my GoPro 9 footage and still performs terribly in Low light. The new DJI Pocket 3 is far superior in terms of vlogging
if you're comparing it to the 9, it's a HUGE upgrade. the 8x7 sensor is probably one of the biggest reason why the 12 is my primary go-to camera!

much love!! well, for me, the biggest benefit with a subscription is the unlimited cloud storage for all your GoPro content - in its original resolution! I've got content all the way back to 2015 in the GoPro cloud! hahahhah!
