Personally, I am SOO happy they are adding more guns. the current ones are quite bland, and the new ones bring more variety- especially the rifle and the weapon skill mechanic of the HMG
They should also add better AI or more commands when certain requirements are met such as removing ballast flora when the crew encounters and removes a ballast flora, rescuing crewmates that are in danger despite not tasked to do so when there are no crewmates tasked to rescue, using non-lethal weapons and restraining during prisoner transport or pirate vessel missions, feeding the pet when the crew has one, tending a plant when there's at least 1 active plant in the sub, and many more.
i like the non-lethal weapons part, That NEEDS to be a thing. every time i have prisoners and they escape, even if they have NO WEAPONS they will still murder them without mercy
I'm gonna have to redesign my submarines now. The game play they were designed for simply doesn't exist now. Not that I'm complaining. I dig it. I love working I the submarine editor and making specialized submarines.

Wasn’t mentioned but When one person on the crew has a recipe skill, everyone can craft the item, granted you’d still want the appropriate crew member to make it since skill level and quality, with the exception of weapons, example if you used the captain to unlock revolvers and hand cannons, you’d want the gunner crafting them instead of the captain Don’t know how it works in multiplayer and if a crew member dying takes away the recipe tho
Dude imagine a whole horde of mechs and you are in a mech suit with the stink gas you could be a one man army against anything Well maybe not abyssal monsters
This was a great video explaining the changes, easy to understand and informative! I also suggest a neurotrauma guide, now while it is a mod, it is quite indepth and It would be a nice twist on the normal videos, I totally understand if you don't though.
I could be wrong but when I tested it the swimming speed of the player wearing the exosuit with the right captain crew buffs is actually faster than using a scooter. Meaning that you're actually better swimming with 2 briefcase storage containers clearing wrecks than using the cargo scooter as you move slower and have less inventory space.
some of the weapons definetly make me want to see huge comparisons to previous guns, because i discovered that Brawler mechanics with multifunctional might be better off with their heavy wrenches than even boarding axes... because I haven't been beaten in melee with mine and the new Ironman armor

I would respectfully disagree. For refrence the issue with the old system was that certain classes where underpowered and others where simply too powerful. the medic. in the old system, if you combined genetic tampering, with endocrine booster, and combat medic was capable of taking hordes of mudrapters and winning. if anything the recent update has simply changed and balanced the roles between each of the classes. mechanic make him an OP (mechanic) while the medic skills make him an OP (Medic) rather than the Medic becoming a duel wielding friek of nature that could run at mach 2 and drill through alien ruins with dive knifes.(yes he could do this. I did this.)
I was pretty excited to check the update, hoping to find some new stuff for the captain. Found out there is no big deal. Some supportive skills and passives for the crew. I'm currently playing a campaing with one (sometimes two) friends, we don't cover nearly all the neccesary jobs to have most of the options, and one is always forced to be the captain, so it kinda makes things difficult when you need to do outside explorations and so. The mechanic looks now like they could do a full expedition by their own, and I guess my friend gonna swap to that asap, in the meanwhile I guess I will stick to play the harmonica to the bots and dancing on the sub, since the lone wolf perk is not usefull if you are with other crew members and the captain needs to be alive to give the bonuses. Overall, lovely that we got lot of new content, but lmao, cap went from three skill trees to two and most of the interesting "late game talents" for him are now one of the early ones, soo... Edit: Oh well, at least you are not forced to have a captain anymore, although not having one means you lose access to the secured areas if you don't have medic/soldier, yay
You can now actually manage the talents of AI players if you click on them in the tab screen, this allows you to make them more efficient and if an AI has a recipe unlock every real player also has them unlocked. This is a multiplayer feature, not only singleplayer now!

I wish tinkering didn't get removed. Was there a reason why this was done? It was the reason why I switched from engineer to mechanic but as soon as I changed it gets removed a day after
Please make a video, explain each class new talents and the difference between the old and new version. For instant, Captain only have 2 talent trees and cant give medals anymore. Ive also realise other class lost their previous recipe. Would love to see all the difrence and which talent is the best!
I am pretty upset at a few of the things they did with the talents, and I absolutely hate how long it takes for me just to TRY OUT my new tier 3 submarine in singleplayer, but other than that I love the update.
You didn't mention that in the weapons enginier tree for electrocal enginier there are now depleted fuel magazines and depleted fuel coilgun ammo. Those are slighty better than normal ammo and apply raddiation sicknes.

I wonder if it's worth mentioning that we cannot craft dirty bombs and clowns cannot survive outside without pressure suit's now. Now I can't have nuclear shells with a dirty payload and will not be able to have six suit's and seven crew members, with one of them being a magic clown.

This update sounds great But one thing I love about thing game is the MODS mods make the great soooo fucking fun my personal favs are the cybernetic mod and nurotrama along with a few others like EK weaponry and most of the other EK mods
I still don't like that they nerfed some skills and most of the "basic" skills are useless, like seriously no skill books, nerfed water prankster, miner and some other skills, no additional loot in wrecks and ruins, and we have to wait for better ships? Someone might say "Reee, skill books and tier 3 subs are too cheese" Well, I hope these kind of people will enjoy a trip into abyss in Barsuk, with opiate addiction with their damn iron armor
there were some items for the absyall monsters added and some other smaller items, all for money atm, I figure might be for crafting other resources later on or part of the faction update, too early to tell.

Just found out that you can no longer be able to do more than 2 missions at a time. I just got the ability to do 4 too :(

How does the reset Button work?
It only works when you haven't applied talents. If they have been committed you cant reset them.
