Deadass. I was wishing he spit a verse the first time I listened but it’s perfect the way it is. They’re both so talented.
Facts.
He's the coolest ever in person . I got the opportunity to meet him because he found out I was a combat veteran and he made sure I was in vip
Real deep bro. 5 years sober. I never thought I'd live to see sobriety.

FR I felt both parts equally and I was on the second part.. Joyner’s juxtaposition is unmatched
@@dwayneshively8590 Cheers, brother!
Yes!!!!!
This song hit me deep in my soul! I was addicted to drugs from the age of 18-34 and I never thought I would be able to escape from that hell. Here I am with 7 yrs clean next month. I owe it all to God because I couldn't save myself ❤
God gave you the chance to believe in yourself and you lived up to what he knew you were capable of.
That's an accomplishment not easy by any means. I struggled with it myself for years. Glad you made it.
Praise god🙌🙌
💪❤️💪❤️💪
Praise God 🙌🏾
I haven’t talked to my brother in a while. I sent him this song and told him I’m proud of him. He’s a year sober now. He message me back saying sorry he wasn’t always there for me and wasn’t the leader he should have been. Then said he loves me and sorry again. Thank you for this song
Family is key I have 10 months clean and have no family but who I’ve made in sobriety
From a recovering addict I guarantee he means it. My biggest regret in life for sure. Can't change it but I'll always try to be there and be better everyday till I die.
That’s awesome! Hug him more, tell him you love him more often. I lost my son to addiction, never got to say all things I wanted to say.
Joyner should be in the GOAT conversation of rap and hip hop period!!!
Facts
Joyner is so underrated. Dude is a beast
And 22-23
Nah frfr he been underrated since lime 2017-2018
I’m a huge Joyner fan but y’all overuse that word lmao. Dude is literally recognized by a ton of rap legends and has millions of fans. How is he underrated 🤣🤣🤣
@@Diah_TV imo he is atleast as good as Kendrick in story-telling, definitely better that all the mumblers, and the fact that they are much bigger names, and the mumbling shit is much more demanded in todays generation is crazy. Joyner IS underrated. Like, you go anywhere in the world, they'll know Travis Scott, Carti, Uzi etc. but I bet that the audience of Joyner is 85% american if not more.
cuz he went to much radio as of late for me he was blowing up on conscious shit talent wise hes up there with anybody though

Well obviously he is a prodigy of Eminem 🐐. No Em = No Joyner Lucas.
@@robswrld5527lmao that’s crazy you think he wasn’t a rapper before Eminem met him. The first song I heard by him was in 2015 when was the Eminem collab?🤦♂️
@@nicholaspoole8688 i don’t “think” i KNOW! Google why i say Joyner lucas is Em’s Prodigy.
@@nicholaspoole8688 Hes saying Joyner wouldnt have started rapping without knowing of eminems existence, as eminem was joyners idol growing up. Which is true, joyner said this on a podcast a few years back.
The degree that Joyner is slept on is an absolute catastrophe.

The day I found out I was going to be a father I stopped and changed my life for him. I’m blessed with a beautiful wife, 3 beautiful children, great friends, and an awesome job

I m going on 2 years sober, ALOT of jellys music got me thru some really dark times. This song tears my heart out its like Joyner is singing from the hearts and souls of so many people. Thank you both for putting our thoughts and feelings to words, so that others who haven't been thru what so many people have can begin to truly understand what its like to fight a battle inside
Got me in tears at work Bruh...😢 I lost my childhood HOMIE (39yrs old) last year to addiction and this hit home HARDDD...
Used to be so strong when we were younger, i would ask him " yo i need you to come watch my back, its gonna be 6 on 2, are you down?"
And he would just say "Always"
RIP Krisherwood! Miss you Brother 💪💪💪❤
Thank you Shaq 🙏
Joyner is the most underrated rapper of 2024
I been saying this for about 7 years now.
New upcoming Will chamge everthing for sure 🎉🎉 its joyner sesson bby 😂🎉
Yeah I was gonna say 2024? More like the last 5 years he’s the most underrated
Since 2015! 💯
no he just puts out corny music in between his gold and people get turned off 😂
The co star in this music video is Mic Devine. He wrote a song called "Way Down We Go". He dedicated to his friend Dave who he lost to a OD. So the emotions he shows in this music video is his real pain from his loss of his friend. I love how Joyner always gives both perspectives in his songs. "I'm Sorry" is another that hits me in my soul! He definitely knows how to reach everyone in his music! He's one of the greats that's for sure! Idk of any other musician like Joyner, NF and Tupac that make me cry listening to their songs. 🎵 🎶
Also if you dk bout addiction, there is a hereditary factor in it. DNA analysts can tell if you yourself didn't do drugs but your parents did. Not to mention ppl not really acknowledging the fact Dr's n hospitals got ppl addicted n then didn't wean them off meds.. just took them n told em bye n good luck. Js

"The first step towards getting somewhere is to decide you're not going to stay where you are"
- J.P. Morgan
Bro, I was that dude a few years ago, I cut everybody off that wasn't partying or doing the same things. I thought I was stronger for it but it was just making me miserable. It was the darkest point for me, at the time Juice WRLD (RIP to a Legend) helped me get out of it. If this song was out then it'd be on repeat. If anyone reads this and feels like the only time they matter is when nothing else does, call your parents, your granma, auntie, whoever and open up. If you ain't got that, there aint any shame in calling a help line. Do what you gotta do to love and respect yourself.
Same bro
Amen, it’s hard to have no family and be in sobriety I have 10 months clean and am makin fam in tha program
Coming up on ten years sober. Lost sooo many along the way. It’s crazy how both sides of a single song can touch two different parts of your heart ❤ Joyner is a genius. #wedorecover
Congratulations
This song has me literally in tears every time I hear it. My dad passed 11 years ago because of addiction. I have been numb since because no matter what I did, I couldn’t help him.
this one gonna connect to a lot of people, joyner one of the best!
Joyner is so incredibly brilliant when it comes to multiple perspective storytelling. And Jelly KILLED his vocals. 10/10 song for me ❤
Facts.. 12 years ago in Indianapolis IN, I went to see Jelly Roll open up for Yelawolf.. Struggle was performing at the very beginning, when my girl heard jellys set she said, that dude is going to be somebody... 12 years later.. she was right..... bruh Jelly Roll be spoiling us!!!
If u don’t believe in yourself how can u see someone else that believes in u. Yep that hits home.
Wow this hit me hard 😢 I'm 16 years clean and I feel for the people who are just now going through the addiction. Especially with all the fetty around. I'm praying for all of you. God bless. 😢🙏❤️ Xoxo
As soon as I heard this when it dropped yesterday I got instant full body goosebumps. This song hit home for me & went straight to my heart. And Im not gonna lie I bawled my eyes out like a lil baby with out their mom through out the whole song. THIS IS SUCH A POWERFUL SONG! And I really just cant believe how close to home this hit. I already knew since day one that Joyner Lucas was gonna make it so far with his music cuz hes so very talented & dude is right God put him here to make his music! But when a song gives someone full body goosebumps U KNOW ITS A MASTERPIECE! 🥰😍🥰😍🥰😍
This was tough to listen to i struggled w addiction for 15yrs and now 6yrs sober. This song reminded me of the darkest times in my life but also as I learned to love my self I saw all the love from everyone else
I love how joyner can make a song relatable to everyone. I'm losing a friend rn not to addiction but to the wrong crowd that could damn well lead to adiction.
Such an amazing song fr . 💯💯
This song hit home for me...
Would have never heard this song if I wasn't pulling up on your channel. Beautiful message. Beautiful but sad song. This is too Real !!!
Joyners storytelling and showing different perspectives is top notch. He will always pull on those emotions and make you feel the songs, no matter which side you’re on
Man I love me some jelly roll he can rap and sing
Man Joyner killed it with this one man i can’t wait for the album
I started crying when I first heard this song 😢
Big man has voice of an angel.
I almost lost my sister to drugs. Seeing my sister in that hospital was the scariest thing in my life. Thank god he was on her side that day. 🙌🏻
This song is so important.
Love the reaction shaq been watching for a while and you are always me favorite to watch!
Much love to all the people out there going through this! Keep you’re head up you got this🙏🏽
Jelly really did make this hit the feels. 😢. Joyner great as always. We probably all know someone in this situation. Love your family and friends no matter what the struggle. We all go through tough times. Life is hard because heaven is worth it. Blessings
been waiting on this 1
Realest shit I've heard in a minute!
This was perfection. I've seen it several times and it impacts every time. Jellyroll has a gift with his voice and I'm so glad that the world gets to experience it and it didn't get wasted. He spoke recently to Congress about Fentanyl and I thought it had a lot of impact bc he truly knew both sides of the story and had facts to back up what he said but the delivery was on point. Great reaction too Shaq! SC Strong!
Man this shit was so deep. Hit me right in the heart for real 😔 😟 😞
Can proudly say I been a fan since day 1 🙏🏼
damn that was a good video keep up the great work shaq i’ve been watching u since the beginning & i’m glad you’re finally getting the recognition you deserve
This is my first time hearing either of those artists. Now I'm hungry to hear a lot more from their catalogs!
Well for jelly demons smoking section save me both versions i need a favor son of a sinner and she shit the entire whitset chappel album and every theraputic music volume are all great and follow the mode of this song
Joyner Lucas is supposed to be up there. He's a really underappreciated artist.
This song made me think of Juice WRLD :( | RIP 999
This song was great! Jelly Roll and Joyner killed it
Wow what a song between both artists. Jelly roll unbelievable voice. Joyner Lucas so powerful in his words and delivery of the emotion. Real talk.
U have to admit to urself its a problem to urself and other people dont know but you.. I was an addict myself and been sober almost 10 years.. Much love and happiness to everyone..
Joyner can be controversial, but the way he can hold such a good flow and tell a whole person's story in 2 mins is crazy, plus jelly roll on this was the perfect choice
Joyner and Jelly killed this. I hope to hear more from them in the future!
We need more Jelly Roll on this channel Shaq man for real
Joyner is a fucking Legend and Jelly Roll is hands down the best fit. Love when I see Joyner. also got mad love for my homie Shaq. Always drop that love as soon as I start watching. 🌹 🌹
Songs like this are much needed by artists today, and I thank Joyner for picking up the mantle and helping carry the burden. He isn't being self-serving here, rapping about his money, his jewels, or his cars. He's telling a story that needs to be told, and telling it in a way that will resonate with a lot of people. Respect
I had a bad addiction for years I'm 15 years clean it's not a disease in any way it's hard work and determination to get through it though. Anybody going through it trust it gets better.
This song meant a lot for me. What a fuckin song man. Chills all over my body. I don’t know how Joyner does this so perfectly but I am glad he does. He became a goat even in his first stuff he did like his Ross capicchioni song
This song had me sobbing when I listened to it. Literally singing about my loved ones addiction. Absolute masterpiece
that intro by JELLY is 🔥🔥🔥 and JOYNER🐐did his thing as always🔥🔥🔥
Clicked this shit so fast
NIGGA! You been gone for it feel like a whole year 😂😂😂
Jelly Roll’s voice literally gives me goosebumps on this. He’s lived both sides!
This one was like a knife to my heart 💔
Jelly role is the one
I'm an addict. It's not a disease. I started I will stop when it's time. But I'm what I call a functioning addict. I pay my bills. Work 2 jobs. Got a 690 credit score. Got my own place and car. Nobody helping me but me. Do drugs. Don't let the drugs do you. Moderation is key. My life ain't better or worse because of my choice to use.
You got this man we all believe in you bro! Take care of yourself
@@lanekuchinsky7908 I do take care of myself. It's not time to quit yet. I take care of me and others. Society may not approve but Society doesn't pay my bills.
Spiritually and physically yes your life is worse that’s reality Not everything is about what you see
Sorry man that’s just not true, I’m not trying to pick a Fight but it’s important people know this, addiction has been classified as a disease since 1987, alcoholism even early in 1956 was classified as a disease. I know you might feel it’s not a disease based on your personal experience, but if everything you said about yourself is true, I don’t think you’re an addict and probably wouldn’t be diagnosed as one, but that’s very rare and that doesn’t mean it’s NOT a disease. So saying it’s not would put you in complete contradiction to the entire medical field.
SUBSTANCE USE, MENTAL HEALTH IT FITS.....LOVE HOW IT CAPTURES THE SELFISHNESS OF THE USER, HURT OF THE LOVES ONE AND THE OVERALL CHAOS OF THE EXPERIENCE..LOVED THIS ITS A CONVERSATION STARTER FOR BOTH SIDES
Wow bro. Never heard of Jelly Roll before but i got instant goosebumps of his voice.
This is one of the hardest deepest tracks I've heard in a long time
The way Joyner story tells and the way he does it from both perspectives so FKN underrated
Then Jelly on the chorus is perfect the pain that man has felt in his life due to addiction no one better
Deep isn't even the word for it coming from an addict. I cried so hard man.the realest song I've ever heard man.
I've been waiting for your reaction and you did not disappoint homie!
I live in Antioch. (Jelly's home town) It's truly a blessing to see someone that came from struggling to lavish living. Glad my dude is winning. As for Joyner. Without a doubt the most underrated artist in this genre. Every song that man does is a banger.
My Cousin overdosed in 2021 and passed away on my grandmothers birthday, what sucked even more was that he passed away a week just before he turned 23. This shit hit hard, really hard too. I remember the day of the funeral thinking to myself, if I could have been there I could have saved him.
This song literally has me in tears every time I hear it. Crazy what the flip in perspective can do for you.
As someone with a parent with addiction problems boyy does this hit deep.
Jelly Roll done came a loooonnnnng way, wasn't too long ago that he was a Memphis underground rapper, i wouldn't know who he was if I wasn't a big Lil Wyte fan, they got a couple albums together & Wyte always talked about Jelly like he knew he was destined for greatness, boy was he right! 💯
Jelly came out of Nashville not Memphis....

This hit me deep. Not only have I been on both sides, but I’ve got almost 10 years under my belt. Even when my oldest son died from an OD, my addiction stayed away. This is amazing.
I’ve seen my mom struggle with addiction since I was born damn near , this hit me different man.
Respect bro. Best reaction I’ve seen. It’s great to see someone with a passion for music this high.
Joyner Lucas these are hard lines you spit there man wtf! 🤯
The fact that people don't know jack about these 2 geniuses is wild. I been a fan of Joyner for 8 years and jelly roll for 6 years. Yall should look back to Joyner's track Ross cappiochioni and jelly rolls old tracks before 2021. Traintracks by jelly is a favorite.
Edit:
I died for about 7:13 in my boy's backyard trying to get sober (was completely sober for 5 days) and I seized up. Bled from my eyes, nose, ears and mouth. This song hits hard as im still dealing with alcohol. Kicked everything but that and cigarettes.
Yo Shaq, this song here, this song right here, is the truth on both sides of coin. from the drug user and the friend support who believed he was better and not knowing what God plans for his drug friend... God sees everything thru and provides for those who need it when they just can't see themselves making it. He is their for us 🙏🏾 Love your show Shaq...always keepin Fresh 💯
His storytelling is unmatched!! Fire react as usual ❤
I love Jelly roll!!! Been a big fan and rapping jelly is my fave!! Love Joyner too … super excited about this pairing
Saw your reaction and immediately went and added this to my Spotify playlist. Powerful song
What an amazing song with a great message. It shows both sides. It shows from the person it affects and the person addicted. I am in recovery myself and am now in school to be a counselor. I have worked at a treatment center for a year and a half. I found this song a few days ago and plan to use it in group! Very well done!
