    I’ve been a professional physicist since the 1980s, and not once over the course of my career has a particle-physics experiment produced a completely surprising new result. We’ve discovered particles (top quark, Higgs boson) and even phenomena (neutrino masses), but nothing we hadn’t either predicted or could easily accommodate within the Standard Model of particle physics. That might have changed just this month, with possible confirmations of two “anomalies” in particle-physics measurements involving muons. They might be new physics, or they might just go away. I talk about what it might mean, and (more importantly) how we should feel about the likelihood that these results really do imply physics beyond the Standard Model.

    There is no doubt you are a great scientist, but you are much MUCH better speaker. You make so easy to understand complicated things with your simple reasoning and most important, with the way you explain emphasizing the important things with the perfect pauses. You remind me to Feynman indeed.
    I love to hear you. Thanks for being such a great and humble speaker.

      If this muon g-2 anomaly is caused by quantum gravity (quantum vacuum energy state of matter), than this anomaly could help explain how self-aware consciousness and free will works. A human mind probably exist at the quantum energy level (quantum vacuum energy state of matter) that supersedes classical physics (the ordering of cause and effect of the observable physical universe). This superseding property is necessary to have free will. It allows human beings (with God's help) to overcome their emotions, biases, other preconceived ideas, and instantaneous temptations.

    Sean, I share your initials as well as growing up in the same general vicinity in Bucks county, Pa. I have spent the last 25 years working out alternative theories on everything from gravity to the big bang. How do i go about publishing this info, im finding out getting an article published in a peer reviewed journal is not inexpensive. I may be biased but i believe my theories are viable and most likely. I am in the process of writing a book and i have a lot to learn for the journey im undertaking, do you have any tips or knowledge you can impart to me to keep me from getting frustrated from hitting the walls i know that will be in my way.

    Could the Mass Hierarchy problem be because of interactions with Virtual Quantum Fields.
    Can differing strongly Coupled fields, create the difference in the masses of the three generations?
    Edit:In relation to say other 0 Spin particles like the Higgs

    • @metatron5199
      @metatron5199 Před 3 lety

      This is already taken into account, but yes this is what is meant when ppl are saying this may be a sign of a new particle and potentially it even being a force i.e. It would be the virtual particles that would be interacting w/ the muon which is currently unaccounted for (obviously this applies only when speaking in QFT or the like models...) which is what is contributing to the muon. Now that I reread your question your actually asking an entirely different question, which I believe you mean to ask about the mass gap problem and why there is three generations... well it's slightly related to what I've stated above but is even more complex... and no they wouldn't necessarily be "strongly" coupled fields at...but there could be more than one type of Higgs field though this seems unlikely currently, just do some searching and you will find the list of various reasoning to answer that problem, everything from the more likely candidates to the highly speculative....

    Why is the many worlds theory favored over the possibility of a single parallel dimension? If we were to consider that during the bigbang the Universe split into two dimensions due to conflicting properties between the elements governed by the law of physics, relativity and the elements governed by quantum physics. Which meant that all physical matter ended up on one side and all its energy signature, vibration, frequencies and subatomic properties ended up in another dimension. And if both dimensions were entangled and overlayed on top of one another in a way where they operated in sync the same way hardware works together with software to run a program. Would that interpretation conflict with the equations that have lead to the many worlds interpretation?

    @davidseed2939 Před 2 lety

    i have na idea for the lattice method. if the lattice is a discrete grid method which presumably is as fine as can be used and still have the problem finish in time. Then, try coarser grids and look at the curve of result value agains 1/n^2 . The discretisation error is something like 1/n^2 , or maybe some other power depending on how it is done. Then you may be able to extrapolate to n=infinity EDIT, I feel fool for thinking I knew better. They alredy do this sort of thing as can be seen in figure 34 of arxiv.org/pdf/hep-lat/9807028.pdf

    All we see or hear is just a perception of the vibrating energy. We call angstroms and decibels which are not physical but are electromagnetic energy. We take that on off energy vibrations and like the binary system they are we give those vibrations meanings. 10011100 etc.
    All this is just defined in our mind in an attempt to give our existence purpose and meaning. I think therefore I am and tell them I am has sent you and in the beginning was the word are all just a way to communicate the concept of our self aware consciousness which is how WE CREATED this universe as an expression of that self awareness... nothing is physical everything is just defined by our consciousness into existence
