  • In this video, we are taking you on a walking tour of the Auschwitz main concentration camp, which is also known as the "Auschwitz I" concentration camp.
Auschwitz I is not an enjoyable site to visit, but it is historically important.
While on this walking tour, be aware that some of the footage in this video is actually footage of inside the gas chambers and crematoria, where thousands of prisoners were killed! See the timeline below if you want to skip those chapters.
Timeline of this Auschwitz 1 walking tour:
    00:00 - Intro
00:42 - The "ARBEIT MACHT FREI" (Work will set you free) entrance sign to Auschwitz 1
    01:25 - Block 24
03:06 - Roll call area Appellplatz
04:00 - Gallows for mass hangings
    11:01 - Block 11: The Death Block
    14:15 - The Death Wall
16:17 - Block 10: Medical experiments on prisoners
    19:49 - Auschwitz swimming pool
27:00 - Gallows where camp commander Rudolf Höss was executed
27:51 - Entering the gas chamber at Auschwitz
28:13 - Inside the gas chamber
28:43 - Hatch in the roof where lethal gas was dropped into the gas chamber
    29:29 - The crematorium at Auschwitz I
    30:37 - Exiting the crematorium
While it may be a difficult video to watch, it is important to understand the history of Auschwitz in order to learn from it.
This walking tour was filmed in 4K UHD (60 frames per second) quality on the 2nd of November, 2022.

I honestly don't think I could walk around there on my own, but as well as the all the evil things that happened there, thanks for letting us see it and everyone should be made aware of these evil places, rest in peace to all the people who died in these horrible camps.

I met a survivor of this camp in the summer of 1994.
I was sharing a noon meal at an indoor food court with a female acquaintance.
An older, short-ish man walked by, the acquaintance knew him.
After a couple of minutes, he crossed his arms at his waist.
Without a break in the conversation, when he saw my eyes widen at the tattoo on his outer left forearm, he angled his body so i, a 20something female, could get a better look, and i was allowed to touch it.
Me, ‘which camp?” (I think he was surprised i knew what the tattoo meant, but he gave no indication).
      Him, “Auschwitz.”
Me, ‘how many in your family were murdered?”
      Him, “75.’
He didn’t want to accept my condolences, but the acquaintance knew me well enough to say, ‘she means it.’

Thank you for this important document. I don't know if I will ever be able to pay my respects to the people who suffered unimaginable by visiting this sacred place but a document like this at least makes me feel very close to all the victims.

To see it now, without the masses of people, without seeing the atrocities being committed there, the grass and trees, the clean buildings, and it being so quiet it almost seems beautiful.(Except for the gas chamber and crematorium) I hope those who suffered and died there, and those who survived their time there are now at peace. I would like to visit someday.

@@idiot971 I can't even wrap my head around those numbers, too much evil that has gone on this earth. I always anxious at times just pondering away with thoughts of how we are breathing and living in such a world where soooooo many wicked events have taken place throughout human evolution and we people go on living and striving for a happy life knowing it happened but pretending like it happened on another planet far away from our galaxy. If you take a step back and think daily events happen within a couple thousand miles of each other which is nothing at all even if we are speaking across the globe 🤐 I'm writing WAYY to much but I just can't

This is one reason for the obscenity of Holocaust denial. Poor journalism after the war equated the figure of six million who died in the Holocaust with the number who were gassed at Auschwitz. Six million people did not die here in Auschwitz. Six million is the total killed in all the concentration camps and elsewhere put together. As the film states, in Auschwitz 1.1 million were killed, an unimaginable number. (I had heard it was actually 1.2 million.) Some holocaust deniers do the math and rightly conclude that there was not the capability to murder 6 million people and cremate them at Auschwitz in the time period. What they do not realise is that nobody in authority is even making that claim and they are therefore destroying a straw man.
