Said that the people are not great and powerful they are driven by hate. Even for the fellow Muslim brothers and sisters. Israel just looking for these opportunities to go in and wipe out as many Muslims as they can. Hamas used something like 5000 rockets in 45 minutes, which is about two rockets per second. Iron Dome couldn't reload fast enough. This will be taken into consideration in future iterations of the system.

@@killthemessenger84 every air defense system can be overwhelmed, thats the Golden truth. Its just some technologies are close to 99℅. And with your logic, every country is a failure in terms of air defense.
It's not a 96% effective system in general. Against the slow home made Hamas rockets maybe. If it was used in say Ukrain against Russian missiles, you'd have a 0% to maybe at best 75% kill rate depending on what missiles the Russian sent. As long as it wasn't saturated.
But you are right that what happened now was not that it was "outsmarted", it was imply saturated. An air defence have a limited amount of targets it can work on at the same time and a limited amount of missiles before it needs to be reloaded. It's like if you have a revolver with 6 bullets and 7 guys run toward you with a knife, you can only shoot 6 of them and the 7:th will stab you.
Iron Dome is a great system and is only second to the Russian S-500/400/350 series.

Air defense systems can be overwhelmed by a large number of targets like shown here. It's not "off guard"; it just surpassed the capabilities of the number of systems they have Deployed.

Iron Dome plots the trajectories of incoming warheads and will let them pass if they won't hit anything important. So Hamas may launch a great number of missiles, but if their targeting is all over the place like it usually is, Iron Dome may not respond at all.
But ID tracks every single rocket... right? It controls them all, right? the decision to shoot down is the result of tracking all of them. The decision to shoot or not is an action taken. Statistics must capture this. There can be two types of errors. ID will shoot and miss rocket and do not shoot , and the rocket will still fall into inhabited areas. So we have to count all the rockets that were fired and tracked to have real statistics.

Outsmart Iron Dome? no more then 200 rocket get their targets, but 3000 were fired, so Iron Dom hit rate is stil over 90%, end of the story.

You assume that just because a rocket doesn't hit a target it was shot down. That's not the case. These are primitive home made rockets that have a poor precision. So plenty of rockets missed their target because they are shit technology, not because they were shot down.

Not a problem at all. Incoming rounds are assigned an ID and enqueued for "servicing" based on priority. All the launchers work as a single system.

The only flaw the Iron Dome System has is that it doesn't send missiles to where the incoming missiles were launched from , enough to take out a sq. block !
They should build a second system, iron spear. The dome calculates where it will be in the future and the spear calculates the launch site and retaliates.

The word is overwhelmed, not outsmarted. The iron dome is plenty effective, but the sheer volume of missiles launched at once was meant to get around the limitations of how many of these systems are in place near Gaza. Also, the system ignores attacks that won't hit populated areas. It's designed to save lives, not necessarily property.

I am not taking side but for clarity purpose, I think the "outsmart" title was the best word there. They thought of the possible way to by pass the Iron dome which made them thought of "Overwhelming" it. 5,000 rockets in 20mins is a smart move plan against a weapon of 90% success rate. Hamas would have never made that damage if it was 1 rocket at a time and thinking that their weapon was cheaper than the Israelis.

the system didn't get outsmarted. at worst it got overwhelmed. most 95% of missiles that get in hit empty fields to the iron dome doesn't respond at all.

It only got overwhelmed. 2000 missiles over 20 minutes means 100 interceptions per minute, which is a little over 1.5 missiles per second. So within 2 seconds, 3 missiles need to be locked on to, flown towards, and then destroyed, all while there is continuous firing, and most of that firing is being neutralised. Oh and the sky is hot enough from the explosions to possibly hamper some of the heat seeking counter missiles whereas the enemy of humanity sent unguided missiles with the express purpose of terrorism and destruction.

Has anyone of you asked themselves why the rockets of the Dome leave a trail and the incoming enemy rockets don`t,every video i looked at are all the same you only see the Iron Dome launch but you never see incoming enemy rockets,very strange.......
The rockets is in a trajectory using little to no fuel, they might be in free fall at this point. You see the exhaust from the Iron Dome because those missiles are burning lots of fuel to accelerate and change direction to hit the rockets. So at this point in the flight, the rocket is just a warhead. There is no more fuel, as it burned it to secure its trajectory.
