- X-Men: Dark Phoenix stars and friends Sophie Turner and Jessica Chastain reunite over dinner to talk past roles and future plans. Plus, Chastain is surprised to learn that Turner is not a natural redhead; and Turner shows Chastain how to “dab like a millennial”.
Turner recalls their first meeting on set, opens up about getting nervous before auditions; and talks about her bond with Game of Thrones co-star Maisie Williams - it’s “a very intense friendship, a friendship that I haven’t had with any of my other girlfriends before”.
Meanwhile, Chastain reveals the most embarrassing thing that has ever happened to her on set; remembers the time she auditioned in front of Al Pacino; and shares her advice on how to overcome that fear of auditions. Her top tip? “Don’t think of them as testing you out. You are in the control seat.”

I love how supportive Jessica is, she is like Sophie’s big sister.
@Wavvy baby You can be older and just be a friend too.
She is really nice
i love these two, go watch dark phoenix you guys!!
Syklone there’s no age for friendship... i was friends this sweet old man, i was too young to remember my grandparents and didn’t have a father figure and this man was so nice and I remember he gave me and some other kids granola bars. I think he was Polish but he would tell stories of his country but we were like 7-8 so i don’t remember that much but all the neighborhood kids ages between 5-10yrs old and we would sit on the floor and listen to the stories... he didn’t spoke English well and i didn’t that much since i only practice the language a year in 1st grade but i felt a connection to the old man and he knew i didn’t know my grandparents so every now and then he would give me candy or granola bars as well as his grandson
She absolutely turned it into an acting master class and I’m shook
you can tell Jessica is so protective and big sisterish to her. Even with the period story, Jessica looked like she was was ready to cut someone. Also more of these please Vogue
Honestly she was right too. Jessica heard that, and was like, "who let those men get away with doing that to you?"
seriously...sometimes it's easy to forget Sophie and Maisie were sooo young when they started doing GOT and had to deal with pretty gruesome stuff from the get go. sure it's all pretend, but at 13 life is already challenging, to try and figure yourself out.
@siân diann right?! I mean having your first ever period is already a life altering experience without having to act it out over and over in a dramatic setting.
no shes a fucking annoying cornball feminist

This should become a show. Two celebs having a fancy dinner.
This was delightful to witness. Like listening in on a conversation between two best friends that I shouldn't be allowed to listen to.

they switched their hair color for dark phoenix

When Jessica said she loved Sophie at the end...😭 I'm so glad Sophie has someone like Jessica as a mentor and friend in this industry.
rueexxi beautiful but this is only because they have been spending a lot of time together because they’re doing press for the movie ! You’ll see afterwards everyone will go their own way and only see each other once every god knows how many months. But yea beautiful relationship!
@@Madisita Yeah. Still very nice to have people like Jessica around her. I just hope she's surrounded by all-around good people. Child actors are the most fragile.

Straight white women really be like that
@@mcgonagallerys Yes, but she the best kind of White Woman. Jessica knows that she is privileged, and she uses it to help others. She refuses to act in a movie that underpays black actors (in one instance, she forced the executives to amend their contract with a black co-star) and she can get shady/predatory directors fired for creeping on young models/actors.

when Sophie said my fiance asked me to keep a 100 dollars in the pocket to go into audition... thats typical Joe Jonas
That's honestly so dumb I laughed out loud
I know he is so dumb but really cute at the same time.
I mean if it helps...It's worth a try
"And I'm vegan so whatever the chef has that's vegan would be fine." Ugh so relatable! Love her!
all future interviews need to be in this format. I love how informal it seems with the wine, at a resturant, great lighting. love it all.
I kinda think this format would be pretty hit and miss. Every actor wouldn't have this kind of chemistry with each other. Even actors that work together. The editor would have to put in some serious work to make the awkward, stiff, no-chemistry interactions look effortless.
This ain't "interview"you Dumbass
This was very good. A lot of times interactions between actors can become really cringy and really quickly, but this wasn't at any moment, despite the conversation hitting some heavy topics at times. They're both very good, and it truly felt like an intimate dinner where you are just sitting there, listening to the amusing stories they have to tell. Truly pleasurable.
Jessica's a little protective to Sophie about the director guy when Sophie's got her period, good thing Jessica's relieved when Sophie told her it was the women who put the fake blood stain on her. love her! Jessica

That says a lot about what kind of loving nurturing protective person she is. That's scary at that age especially with the me too movement and so many creepy people in the film industry being exposed in recent years.
Bryce Dallas Howard and Diane Kruger are so fab.
That comment deserves a lot of likes. It was brilliant😀😀😀😂😂😂
She must be the Bryce that DID NOT eat Minnie's pie.

Every time Sophie talks about Maisie it makes me happy. The way they talk about each other is really pure. I hope they maintain their friendship forever it’s so lovely
I hope so.
it's a powerful thing to have someone older and respected take the time to know you and hope the best for you. It's really wonderful that Sophie seems to have that in Jessica.
Just look at the way Sophie was surprised when Jessica said she'd be in a movie she directed. It was a, "oh wow, you really trust and believe in me then."
I’m sure promoting this movie is over they’ll rarely speak again. That’s the case with 90% of movie casts
Whoever came up with the idea for this deserves a raise👏🏻
I second that!
ugh I love this format. I feel like I'm at dinner with friends.
Popular Demand: *We want more of this Vogue, please.*
Sophie is so grounded and sweet, but also has a sharp sense of humor. Would love to support her as a director/producer in the future. Go for it! Also, Jessica Chastain is forever my queen. So glad they got to work together, seeing them lift each other up is the best !
would definitely watch a movie that Sophie and Maisie make
Maybe a remake of Thelma and Louise?
"Do you speak french?"
"A little bit. My husband is italian."
Marcio Couto 😂😂😂
Marcio Couto they’re both Romance languages so have Latin at their root, ages probably talking about that
Actually alot of people from Italy can speak both fluently lol
Hence she spends time in Italy which is obv next door to France. They’re similar languages. I’m French and lots of people in the south west speak both and same in northern Italy.
Half of Italy used to be owned by France and of course Piedmont was a combination of both.
It is also common in European cinema circles to speak French and act in French movies- e.g Christoph Waltz is fluent and so is Jodie Foster
I hope they have another movie together besides X-Men: Dark Phoenix!
Yes. A drama of some sort
@@novalight4863 Or a murder mystery!!
I love how Jessica was ready to pick up the pitchforks when Sophie talked about her most embarrassing moment, until she cleared up that it was actually the costume girls that did the touching ups.
This was probably one of the best interactions I've ever seen between two celebrities... Nicely done!!! Shout-out to Vouge for setting this up.
God I love Sophie. I'm a shitty writer too. I love that she is so open about her strengths and weaknesses
strem1320 i have never written before but theres hope i guess as long as animals still around i can write about goats or dogs if you know what i mean ..
Jessica Chastain is so chilled about being Vegan, I really love it how she doesn't mind Sophie having meat and when I have seen her in other interviews she has been Vegan for so long and is so laid back not judgemental towards others. its great, I think they would be so fun to hang out with!
She did mention she was vegan because of her health.
Hmmm Jessica has an interesting personality...sometimes sweet other times challenging and dominant

73 Questions with Sophieeeee
I will never get tired of Shopie's accent
shopie heehee
or her striking eyes
You can notice how encouraging Jessica is of Sophie. Even though Sophie has found so much success at a young age you can see that she doesn’t feel deserving of it and wants to prove herself.
Love this dinner of two - such talented and down to earth actors who are not scared to share their vulnerabilities and some laughs. Please can we have more videos like these? Thank you Vogue.
Yeah.... One can see that... Always down to earth....
Jessica is so supportive. When Sophie's like "I can't write" and she's like "Yeah, sure, you are talented, you can write".
I love this new direction of the videos we need more.
I'm pretty sure the actor Jessica Chastain had a crush on is Tom Hardy in their movie Lawless. Watched a few of their interviews together and they looked really loved up. This was a great segment Vogue.
Shari Moore I was hoping someone would know and I thought the same.
At the time the movie was filmed, Tom was engaged to his now wife Charlotte Riley. The couple have two kids together and his son's name is Forrest (ironically)
I was wondering who she was talking about.
omg ewww don’t touch my king
She's talking about Mark Umbers. The two worked together in "Blackbeard".
Love this!!! Jennifer Lawrence and Emma Stone would be fun too

This interview makes me love Jessica even more than I did already. She’s so supportive and encouraging.
Jessica Chastain has this confident and mature energy that she seems to want to generously give a part of to sweet Sophie Turner
It's weird, but I'm always completely struck by how Jessica endlessly supports sophie and demands she acknowledge her talent instead of doubting herself.
Sophie always seems surprised whenever Jessica is behind her ideas. The way sophie lights up when Jessica says she'd be in a movie that she directs was one of the most genuine things I've seen.
“bet you don’t have a hundred dollars in your pocket”
LMFAO IM NOT SURPRISED THAT JOE GAVE THAT IDEA TO HER. 😂😂😂

Okay but my two favourite actresses having a great time together is everything!
They both have a deep respect and reverence for one another and I love Jessica’s unwavering and gentle mentorship with Sophie 💓
"I like the heat"
"I bet you do"
The vibe went from sisterly to kind of flirty by the end lol, interesting.

omg i thought i was the only one
Really thought Sophie was a natural red head. It suits her well. These two have a natural friendship chemistry in that Jessica would be a great mentor to her & Sophie would bring out the quirky side of Jessica. Jessica seems naturally grounded, planted with solid roots. Sophie is lovely, I hope she grows in confidence.
We need this movie about Sophie's and Maisie's friendship
Sophie saying "When I was young" at 23 makes me feel like a old guy and I am 19
Looking at this, their friendship seems like the real deal and I love that.
This was so enjoyable to watch. I could watch like an hour of this.
THIS WAS ONE OF THE MOST ENTERTAINING AND AUTHENTIC THINGS I'VE SEEN IN THIS CHANNEL! loved it
This is the girl talk we didn’t know we need... love them 😍😍
This is the friendship I never knew I needed but always wanted ❤️
I LOVE the vibe of these vogue videos. There’s something about the cinematography that just captures the essence of the restaurant and the intimacy of the conversation. It’s beautiful
I need a Jessica Chastain in my life.
Jessica is that protective, strong, supportive and sincere friend as for Sophie she's so shy yet fun and crazy. They both complement each other, hope their friendships lasts forever ♥️♥️♥️ and that's the tea
Listening to Sophie Turner talk about Maisie Williams is SO sweet. I don't even watch Game of Thrones but it gave me chills
This relationship is just so beautiful. I didn't know I needed this in my life.
my eyes are literally misty now. it's so amazing and sweet how they are having this connection. Jessica is so supportive and so smart and Sophie sounds so opened and honest and also letting herself learn as much as she can. I mean, you can see it was a quite joyful night

When Sophie talked about her friendship being almost like soulmates and almost destructive towards one another I felt really impacted because I can most definitely relate. I feel that there’s certain friendships that are much deeper than any others.
I love that parts of Jessica’s audition advice can be transferred to any sort of job interview.
Just when I think my adoration for Ms Chastain could not grow more, I see this video and it does exponentially! The way supportive, protective, and understanding way she was with Ms Turner made me appreciate Ms. Chastain not only as an artist, but as a human being! Kudos to both lovely and talented actresses. I look forward to seeing their future projects.
I’ve watched this 4 times already! I love their connection and how casual it is. Jessica has some great advice for Sophie, almost like a big sister

This is great. Love these two and I think you got them pretty comfortable and “real”.
I love jessica❤️ she’s so supportive and empowering towards other women! Like how she looked like she was abt to cut that director when sophie was talking abt the fake period story, and how encouraging she was to sophie abt writing her own screenplay.
