I have one of those 50cc scooters and I bought it broken. I tried to figure out why wasn't getting fuel but I noticed after I saw the video that the vacuum line wasn't connected to the T system and it wouldn't give gas to the carburetor because the T was missing. I'll try fix it when I get home see if it helps. Thanks for sharing this !
Great Video, I can use your thoughts getting my brand new Roketa 250 54 B running. Right out of the freight. I added fuel hooked up the battery. Checked all the fluids and all seemed right. Cranked it over never even kicked. Gas was in the filter. Checked the vac to the pump and it wasn't there. I found a complete tree of tees and lines and one open on one tee.. Zip on the vacumm. No diagrams to be had on my new scooter for Vac routing. Liquid cooled semed the way to go but with very little info coming form the supplier. A simple diagram of the Vac system and where everything should be would go a long way to solving my problem. Like I said you video will at least help me locate where some of the tubing should go. when you have a brand new scooter from the factory like that you have to crank and crank the motor to get the fuel down into the carburetor. It may just be a matter of that. Might try squirting some starter fluid in the carb.

I have found those diaphragm carbs to be so unstable in holding an idle , that I will not work on them anymore. I wish they built them more stable. Great vid, buy the way and no disrespect. RH DS

i put on a new carb new intake manifold auto choke fuel filter and fuel diaphragm.went to start it today and now there is no gas going to through the diaphragm the vacuum lines r good replaced them to,but when i turned the fuel filter to a vertical position fuel went tin tho the carb and started ran for a few seconds and shut off.obviously there is no fuel going through the diaphragm,do they go bad fast?thats the only thing standing in my way of getting this thing running.i dont wanna hafta
I couldnt help but notice your question. I recommend anything 90 unleaded gas or higher. regular gas will kill the engine much more quicklier. I use the highest quality gas because it helps your engine in a long run and... its only 2-4 dollars for a gallon

There is a line that comes down to the rear of my Dong Fang 50cc scooter and there was a little metal screw, somehow that screw came loose now my scooter won't start. What size is this screw and where can I get one?
Serious question because the guy working on my bike did this. He ran the tube from the gas tank and conected to the fuel filter and conected the fuel filter to the carb. Then he just pluged up the vacume line with a screw. Is this advisable and is it safe for my scooter?
Besides the vacuum hoses that you explained, there are two other thicker black hoses on my Evo 150cc Taotao scooter. They start off at the right-hand side of the scooter. One of those hoses goes to the front of the scooter's where it is connected to the engine. The other thicker black hose is connected to what looks like a black canister at the right-hand side of the scooter's frame. It is located on the frame between the fuel tank and the ignition high-performance coil box. However, at its end, this thicker black hose (about double the size of the other vacuum lines) is not connected to anything on my scooter and is just hanging by itself. I am suspecting that it is the reason why the scooter is not starting. Also, on the left-hand side of the scooter's frame, there is what looks like another black canister which has two hose connections, one small another one bigger, but then there are no hoses connected to it. I suspect that the lose thicker black hose that is dangling in the middle of the scooter fell off from that. May that be the case? However, I don't want to connect that hose to the black canister on the left side of the scooter because I am not sure that it is supposed to be connected there. So far, I have searched in vain and have not found a CZcams video with an explanation of the purpose for those thicker black hoses on the scooter. Are they part of the scooter 's vacuum system? Please advise. I look forward to hearing from you. Your explanation will be highly appreciated.
my scooter was running fine until it started "dumping" gas into the carb. In order to get it back running i have to pull the gas line aloose. when i do have it running then i have to pull the vac line off the petcock otherwise it just floods out again. please help
Thank you for the video. Bought a basket case with lots of lines unplugged, etc. Was finally able to start it once I watched this. Though I have a long way to go to see it running stable, I at least can start. Any videos on tank removal?
@suecarman Hi my scooter leaks gasoline but i always find a puddle of gasoline beneath the carbeurator i do not find any leakage on hoses. my scooter has 1600miles i purchased it Used as a third owner at 500miles. its been leaking for 1100miles
Thank you for such a helpful video! I just bought a Chinese scooter and though it is almost new, there is a hose hanging out of the scooter that has a plastic nipple. It has a little liquid on the nipple that smells like gas. But I can't find where it plugs in. The scooter seems to run fine. Any idea what this is for? How could it be a vacuum hose and have a little liquid gas on it?
John I think your scooter is idled to low. Take s butter knife or screwdriver and crank the idle screw on the carburetor clockwise. Once you have a good idle speed sound from the motor, keep it their- if it holds to powerful turn it back down- but not to much where it stops at lights or other places when you let go of the throttle. Another thing it never starts back on time - idle was never turned up.

Or do it the easy way like I did connect the fuel line directly to the carb and by pass the petcock silver disc that is a complete piece of garbage for fuel. Leave the vac line hooked up to the silver disc.
Hey man I have a problem with my scooter. It starts fine and runs fine but after 10 or 15 if you stop in a light (example) when you hit the gas it shuts off and wont turn on again. If you wait about 30 minutes for the engine to cool off it will start again. The engine chokes when you hit the gas it make a sound like pou pou. its a joneway 150 cc 2011 Any Idea????
I am having problems with the under side fuel tank were do they go one is the fuel line the small one beside the fuel line is it a vacuum pipe which goes on the bottom of the carb then there is two out let's side by side were do the pipes go please.
Viewed your video. My icebear mojo 150cc. Keep shut off at dangerous spots. So after the views I looked at my hoses. Must appear fine maybe have to move fuel filter it on front side of pee cock not on line right off tank. But as I was looking at lines, just in front of the manifold on nose of engine there was a line that was crimped. So I fixed it, but it runs from to nose of engine to a splitter one line goes to the air filter and then another line goes to the backside of of motor housing I guess that would be wear the belt is located? . Wish I could send photographs and video to explain better. On my bike I have a foam air fitter. So the hose from above is just tucked under a top layer. Hope you can understand me.

Some scooter re-seller is not going through the trouble to replace the hoses or upgrade it (with out charging you). China scooter QC issues as super bad are rumors. Likely all those vacuum hoses were correctly installed and adequate quality. If it does not run or run's poorly then investigate. I have bought two China made scooters. Both ran out the box with the normal oil change after about 30 min (before the 150 miles they recommend). I also adjusted valves early as people warn, at about 100 miles, I found they were pretty close. I'm fairly impressed with the quality you get for under $1000.
I have one line I cannot seem to find where it goes. I have attached a picture. It comes off the bottom of the plastic pan that is right under the fuel filter. … Seeing each year model of scooter is slightly different, and have different vacuum lines, other than what is seen here, It would be good to make a video on each and every model of Vino scooter, as the service manual, doesn't cover the hose hookups properly (if at all). So-far, going through the service manual for a 2004 150cc, scooter, I haven't found any explanation regarding both either fuel line hookup's, or where each vacuum line is to be connected to the carb. Except for the fuel system (like the one shown here), other vacuum lines are present on a 2004 Vino, that should be covered, for proper connection. Yamaha should have made a diagram, showing each and ever vacuum, and fuel line hookup in it's manuals (after all, the service manual is for the Yamaha servicemen to refer to, when needed). It's very disappointing, that not all the required facts are supplied in it's service manual, that a serviceman, or customer, require to have on hand written in the manual. I sure would like to watch a video, showing all the hose hookups on a 150cc., 2004 Vino, otherwise, most of the vacuum hookups are a guessing game, hoping you made the right choice, on where to hook them all up. I contacted a Yamaha service dealer about this matter, and they had no clue either, on which hose is attached where. They had the same service manual I have here ( and again, hose connections are not shown anywhere in the manual. Any chance of having a video made concerning this full issue?

On the gy6 Carb I found a false vacuum port cap on my carb that runs to that infamous t-line.

if you run the fuel line straight to the carb will that affect the vacuum line from the intake?
If you remove the stupid vacuum petcock with a simple on off switch you can block off all the vacuum lines and never have an issue

With the exception of the fuel vacuum lines, rip everything else out, you don't need them. 🤪

I contacted a Yamaha service dealer about this matter, and they had no clue either, on which hose is attached where. They had the same service manual I have here ( and again, hose connections are not shown anywhere in the manual. Any chance of having a video made concerning this full issue?
