Whelen WPS 2809 Siren Test After Repairs

- Here’s a brief test of one our Whelen WPS 2809 sirens after minor repairs the local control keypad. This siren was actually malfunctioning about 30 minutes prior this video being taken. I was called, and told that this siren was sounding in Hi-Lo by itself without activation from the EMA. This siren experienced the same problem about 2 weeks prior to this repair. The cause of this siren malfunctioning is actually a common problem with the Whelen keypad ribbon cable design on controllers prior to the WPS 2900 series controllers. As of now, the majority of our 2800 series siren’s local control keypads are actually disconnected. Disconnecting the keypad was ultimately the “remedy” fix to this siren.

Does this rotate or stay In place?
Don't take all the hate seriously! I don't know why some people are so rude sometimes... BUT That's a genuinely good question! This siren is an OmniDirectinal, which means it stays in one spot and emits sound in all directions. the WPS-2700, 7800, and 2900 are all OmniDirectional sirens, as well as the Federal Signal Modulator series. Thanks for the question!
@iamdxpe jeez why so rude? Not everyone knows about these sirens.
iamdxpe rude
