I decided to play an impromptu three day game of Napoleonics using Black Powder rules on my 12x4 foot table. I just grabbed fairly even forces of Prussian, Swedes, French and Germans for a game set around 1813 somewhere in Germany! It's long, but it was fun!

Thanks very much for doing this, I am only part way through but enjoying it and just wanted to give a shout.

Interesting game Dom. Your scenery is coming on from those days in the garage. Getting organised in the bunker is obviously suiting you and your collection making it easier to fine things.

I actually thought the French would walk it mate. But in the end the power of the Old Guard never got going and that was the key

The French cavalry needed to take a break test for having had casualties from closing fire of the horse guns. a -2 modifier to the test, hit by artillery and disordered.
French columns do not get the -2 saving modifier on artillery casualties.
    You cannot rally disordered troops.

Can you not rally off casualties & there by regain moral for shaken troops, example French cavalry shaken and sitting on the table edge waiting to be attacked again and broken ? It doesn't seem like the rally rule is used nearly as often as it could be to maintain units & therefore brigades longer on the table. Did love seeing the Swedish & Wurtenburgers . Am aching to put Perry's Danish on the painting desk. Cheers.

Yes you can recover a unit from shake by moving the commander to the unit and a successful command role. But if the brigade is broken you can’t. The Danish would be great to see!
