Pat Metheny Inspired Synth Tones with the Line 6 Helix and HX Stomp

For a while I've been experimenting with using Jam Origin Midi Guitar to add some horn textures to my lead tone. I decided to try and coax something out of the Helix/HX Stomp using the Synth-o-Matic legacy synth. Might get you in the ballpark of this type of thing? I'm blending in my actual guitar tone too.
I think @AlexPriceMusician will have done something on this topic too - go check him out!

The key to my preset was figuring out the compressor settings ahead of the synth block, then boost the output a ridiculous amount to get more sustain out of it. The synth blocks have a limiter built in at the front end, which helps.

Really ingenious way of using the Legacy Synth- o -Matic Synth. Very smooth sounding flute like /sax like textures / tones.\m/

So I was noodling around on my korg minilogue xd creating an ambient soundscape kinda patch. For some reason I thought maybe run it through the helix. Mind officially blown! The legacy filter effects sound effin amazing with my synth. The helix just keeps giving more and more. I'm gonna end up divorced at this rate, just cannot turn this thing off.
Sorry for the tangent, I needed to share and it's either comment on here or walk into the street and tell a stranger 👍

Cool. I really like the Synth tone you got. You got it to be very smooth. Does it track well at fast speeds?
I just checked out the Alex Price Channel. He did make a video a couple years ago called "Recreating Pat Metheny's Synth Guitar Tone - Line 6 Helix."
On a total aside, have you heard of the JPTR-FX "Fernweh" pedal? It's a Multi Echo Module. I'm curious if you think that a Line 6/Helix Modeler could emulate those sounds, without having to get a Degree in Sound Engineering first. 🙅🤔
Thanks for going in depth with these sounds on the Stomp! Do you notice any latency when playing with the Stomp synth sounds (especially when used 100% without any actual guitar tone blended in)?
Hey John - how might you go about trying to get this tone out of the GX-100? I just got one and am learning the ropes but it looks like they don't have SY-1 or other synth specific effects onboard. For reference, the closest guitar I have to Matheny's 175 is an Epiphone ES-339 Pro.
