  • The Border Force stop a man arriving from Miami on suspicion of faking documents, but an X-ray suggests he may also have been trying to smuggle drugs into the UK by swallowing the packages.
Border Force follows the work of the UK's Borders and Immigration Agency as its team of dedicated immigration officers work around-the-clock to fight illegal immigration and secure Britain's borders.

I earned £25 a week stacking shelves in a supermarket part time in the late 70's using the Mars Bar conversion rate that would have been 500 Mars Bars at 5p each. How much would 500 Mars cost today? £200? £300? So these people are earning only enough to buy only 350 Mars Bars a week. A lot less buying power than I had back then.

Though it is illegal, there is a deeper issue. Why you would not find British lads/gals working here? They don't mind running gangs in the city (not all). These jobs are unwanted, nobody likes to do. Even the prisoners who are locked up wouldn't do as they are looked after well.

@@SK-rr4qy The whole lot of officers appears to treat it like a fun trip to the beach rather than a serious investigation/check... One officer is playing with a fold-out club, another is just escalating and confrontational... A very simple situation turned into a mess by officers not trained in street work...
Also I don't really get how this would be legal, they just walk up to a random person who they think is foreign, that just has racial profiling screaming all over it which is and was back then too, very illegal in Europe and an easy way to get your officer career short-ended...
Seems like a little project from an over-enthusiastic customs and immigration office manager really, send out some untrained/undertrained officers and hope to catch a 'Bin Laden' and make headlines for being the officer who caught some major criminal...
I highly doubt any of this would be legal within Europe, I highly doubt this stop was legal in the UK either, though it appears at least in the UK, customs officers can enter a home without a warrant as long as they have permission from their supervisor so they do appear to have significantly more power than the standard police officer.

Usually it is an issue if you practice medicine using that lie. If you say "I am a doctor" and do not practice, or otherwise use it as part of a fraud (for example to claim a high income when applying to a loan) then it is not a big deal.

That's only if you are impersonating a doctor while trying to treat a patient or give medical advice or sell your services.
