- "NCIS" has been a staple of the CBS primetime lineup for a stunning 20 seasons and counting. That's a very long time for a TV show to run, and over that time, several regulars and guest stars have sadly passed on.

Rest in peace to all these wonderful actors.
The list won't be getting any shorter; that's how life works. Annie Wersching's final appearance was on The Rookie where her character intentionally arranged to have herself killed. It seemed a little odd within the episode until shortly after she died of the cancer. She was friends with Nathan Fillion and probably wanted her character to have closure. She played a similar character on Castle with NF.
I lost my heart to Ducky years ago when he played in the Man from UNCLE. He was a handsome man when he was young and only got better with age. He will be missed.
Talk about a huge crush on him in Man from Uncle!
David was so cute in the man from uncle
Yes he was
I just learned that ducky left us. Yes, he had a wonderful financial life but we never, ever have enough time.
I liked him ever since I saw him as a kid in A Night to Remember
Are used to do catering at a private school in New York, David McCollum was always there. He seem like a very nice man. One day walking by with some drinks I saw him and said, Mr. Kuriakin(his name on the man from uncle) he laughed, and said nobody’s called me that and 50 years.
Ralph Waite had recurring roles in NCIS and Bones at the same time. Playing Gibbs' father and Booth's grandfather. It linked the 2 series for some of us, who are fans of both shows.
He was great as Booth's grandfather. Paps was great😃
Yep. I was going to mention that but you did so nicely! Love him on both shows. ❤❤❤
I liked Wesching as the young lady in 'Oasis' in "Enterprise", René was also in this episode too. Gregory Itzen was Sopek in 'Shadows of P'Gem'. T'Pol stood to protect Sopek from phaser fire and was injured. I think Bruce Gray was on "Enterprise" too. Nina Foch was great as Ducky's mother. Still, I'm going to miss David as Ducky the most as he was my favourite from his role in "A Night to Remember" and later as Illya Kuryakin on "MFU", etc.and as a musician and writer.
Mom's best friend in high school was Ralph Waite's older sister. He used to sit with them at lunch.
(Dad OTOH went to high school with Lou Gallo and Gavin McLeod, although the latter had a different name at the time).
Don't forget the Waltons
David did live until he was 90 years, so had a great life and career. Best role for me was in Man from Uncle. RIP Illya.
About that I'm NOT that old by 1979 Man From Uncle kind of never did re-runs of it.
I still get a kick out of Gibbs making the Illya Kuryakin reference in the first season of NCIS.
@@veghesther3204Seeing the way Guy Ritchie re-casted the chrs., I'm glad they didn't. "Magnum P.I.", "The Equalizer", "Lost In Space" characters were also re-casted and woke-rebooted as well so I'd rather watch the originals on my DVD sets or my Roku.
I'm old enough to remember watching him as Illya, and I absolutely adored him! The two greatest movie roles he had, in my opinion, were "The Great Escape" and "Sol Madrid".
Th
Ducky is gonna be missed dearly, this was the worst day of my life, ducky was one of my favorite actors on NCIS. Rest in peace
He was 90. He lived a good life. We all go in the end. It's not like his life was cut tragically short at an early age. Worst day of your life? Get a grip.
That's not nice! We loved Ducky!
Totally agree 💯%
I’ve always wondered why shows don’t film a goodbye scene or two in case an actor meets an untimely demise or just refuses to come back for another season.
I don’t think anyone can ever top McLean Stevenson’s departure from MASH…
Rest in Peace, David. I worshipped you when I was young and you were Illya. Loved the tribute Gibbs paid to you in one NCIS episode when Tony wondered what Ducky looked like when he was young. Gibbs answered, “Illya Kuryakin.” Loved it. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
😊😊😊
David McCallum may have been 90 but he was one of those people who aged slowly. At 90 he looks younger than may actors in their 60’s and seventies. That is how he could get the part of Dr Mallard when he was already 70. He looked like he was still in his 50’s. I found a movie with him in it about the titanic made sometime in the 1950’s. He looks like a young man and I guess he was in his 20’s. That when I figured out he was a lot older than he looked. I thought he was my age but that movie was made before I was born.
Watch Violent Playground, a noirish low budget film starring a young David.
He was a handsome man in his youth and clearly looked after himself.
A night to remember 1958
Also Hell Drivers with a lot of actors before they were famous including Stanley Baker, Sean Connery, Patrick Mcgoohan and Jill Ireland (ex wife).
Oh Ducky is gone! :( I hadn't heard. So many other great actors have past as well. They all will be really missed!!!
Just in the last couple of weeks. I'll miss seeing him appear in NCIS
You forgot to mention that Meridih Eaton also appeared on NCIS as Abby's friend Carol, an immunologist.
I don’t care what title was used, it’s a nice tribute to those who’ve passed on and nicely done video! Thanks!
Not to make light of anyone dying, but lists like this don’t really ever get shorter.
Oh, this is the first I heard that David McCallum died. Not a big shock, since he was 90, but still I'm sad. I remember him from Man From UNCLE. So many actors from old shows like that are gone. It makes me feel old, but I guess I am. :-)
Welcome to the club
David McCallum was a teenage heart throb back in the 60's when he played as Illya in the Man from U N C L E. He said he was amazed that beautiful teenage girls were soo crazy about him. ( he was HOT back then ). Great actor, great person.
Yes he was!!!!
As it happens, Illya was supposed to be secondary to Napoleon, but when all the fan letters started pouring in for DMcC, they moved him up to equal status.
I will always remember David best for his brilliant sci-fi work on The Outer Limits and Sapphire & Steel. R.I.P., David.
Ducky would always be the father role of NCIS and guide the team
All of these are sad.. but ducky really will be hard to get over😢
Loved David McCallum in The Man from Uncle and Sapphire & Steel. Didn’t know he had passed away.
One more reason why NCIS has a very long run. Excellent platform for some of the Hollywood's iconic actors and actresses. RIP talents. You will be missed...🙏🙏
Sad as it is to lose a fan favorite, but to make a big deal out of losing many actors from one show not fair - especially given how long NCIS has been on the air. RIP Ducky.
David's been on "NCIS" longer than he was
in "MFU", "Invisible Man", and "Sapphire&Steel" altogether. He has done more than many actors who get more media attention!
The Man from U.N.C.L.E. aired 1 day after I was born and ended when I was 4 years old and I know nothing about it. After reading that Ducky, my all time favorite NCIS character was the man, I'll search on Roku and hopefully be able to watch his show. He was quite the guy and easy to love.
Did anyone else catch the name of Ducky's dog in his memorial episode? SOLO! As in Napoleon Solo, Ilya's partner in "The Man from Uncle".
He was also in a show called "The Invisible Man", where he played the invisible man.
That was a truly enjoyable, thorough and moving chronology and testimonial all in one to so many, many talented people who have been part of our lives over the years. Thank you for putting it together for us. How sad about those who committed suicide.
David McCallum was also in the first episode of the original "Outer Limits" tv show.
He was not in the first episode of the outer limits...it was like the eighth episode the sixth finger
That was his second appearance. He was in the pilot which was used as the first episode where he played a scientist who was studying time travel. In the sixth finger, he was the subject (not the scientist)of the experiment which evolved him centuries ahead, I remember watching them when I was a kid.
Edited to correct typos.
@@joanwerthman4116 the pilot started cliff Robertson...the galaxy being. He appeared in the sixth finger, and the later episode the forms of things unknown, which was retooled into a pilot for a series called the unknown
Never mind that , he was steel in sapphire and steel ! Classic sci-fi.
Have any show on TV long enough with older actors, and there’s going to naturally be actors who die. It’s not a big mystery or conspiracy.
Nicely researched video. I remember almost everyone on this list, the only exception being Miguel Ferrer as I didnt really watch NCIS LA outside of a handful of episodes. Both Ralph Waite and David McCallum's passings had me in real tears, as did the episode where we learn of Jackson's death. The episode with Ernie Yost also tends to leave me teary-eyed, it just feels so tragic. I do not look forward to the day where we lose Mark Harmon 😢
I do want to point out that Sean Murray and Brian Dietzen both appeared in a bunch of episodes on season 1 (McGee first appearing in episode 7) so I disagree on McCallum being 'the last remember of the original cast'.
David McCallum was also in The Invisible Man.
You missed Mira Furlon. A famous former yougoslavian actor who played ambassador Delene on Babylon 5 and subsequently was on lost. She played an artist on NCIS that Gibbs and denozo had to rescue in Arizona on horse back.
I wondered why I recognised here but couldn't name her
@martyn6792 I'm a big Babylon 5 fan. Another of former sci-fi actors due guest star roles on NCIS.
I've been watching this wonderful actor David (Ducky) for over 60 years and enjoy all his acting roles. Sleep peacefully 😂 condolences to his family.
It is a given that lists of deaths always get longer, never ever shorter!
A professor in college told us students that as we got older, we'd be more exposed to death-especially our family and friends. It also happened to some of my favourite teachers and professors, mentors in my life as I grew up, even those I didn't know as well like David who advised me in '78 "Never give up!" I didn't.
I love how after Ralph passed Richard Thomas started doing NCIS. They got both John Walton Sr and Jr on the show
Mr Ilya Kuriyakin! RIP legend!
And also “Do not pity the dead, Harry. Pity the living, and, above all those who live without love.” 🖤
Sir Michael Gambon, legendary stage and screen actor best known for his role as Dumbledore in the 'Harry Potter' Movies, has passed away at age of 82. 🕊️
One of Charles Durning's last roles was the voice of Peter's dad on Family Guy. His character passed away when he did.
He was also great in the 1980 movie “The Final Countdown”.
About Family Guy Adam West voiced its Mayor and Carry Fisher (leia from Star wars) voiced Angela Peter Griffins boss and yes at least 1 episode of Family guy showed both characters funerals because of that.
you'll be missed but never forgotten RIP brother 😥😥
Omissions:
Hal Holbrook - 1 episode
[Died January 2021]
Ralph Waite
Same time he was giving NCIS "Jackson Gibbs"... he was stealing scenes on Bones portraying Special Agent Seely Booth's paternal grandfather.
From Gibbs to Booth in one connection.
Annie Wersching
Girlfriend/co-conspirator of a serial killer on Castle (ABC) before following Nathan Fillion to The Rookie
I have loved David McCallum since I first saw him in “The Greatest Story Ever Told” and I have tried to follow his career, I will truly miss seeing him, thank God for reruns
Rene Auberjonois was also a regular on Warehouse 13
Actually he was only in a couple episodes.
Liked him as Odo and in 'Oasis', but didn't know about his other roles. I'm mostly a David McCallum fan, so I know it was inevitable he would due one day, but not this soon. He meant alot to me as just seeing onbtv programmes, movies, documentaries, hearing his music or listening to him narrate stories for Caedmon, and later watching him on his podcasts and reading his book made my days better as I grew up-they still did seeing him in plays I went to and seeing him conduct music on a variety DVD I have! RIP, David.
Wow my heart is broken over Ducky! I loved him so! RIP Americans Duck! 💖
All will be deeply missed and none will ever be forgotten 🕯️ R.I.P 🕯️
love Ducky!! he was so great
Love all of these actors.. I’ve been watching all of them throughout my lifetime
… sadly I don’t think the list will ever get shorter.
Ducky rest in peace I do love you with Gibbs such a loss. RIP
Thank you for making us all feel old!
I first saw Nina Fosch in the episode of Combat, if I am not mistaken, it was titled The Casket. The thesis , a farm wife of trying to get a casket for her son killed by the Germans.
Sad list of great actors, but I guess it is kind of inevitable. NCIS has been on for 20 years and has always attracted or chose quality actors for it's shows. Some are bound to pass.
He was 90 so it’s not totally unexpected , RIP, I fed him in Man form UNCLE.
So many, all i can truly say is: Thank you all
Wow so many great actress and actor's that passed away R.I.P.🙏
May they all rest peacefully
I just watched Terry Rhoads in “Third Rock from the Sun”. He played used car salesman. One episode, but memorable he was hilarious!
Gregory Itzin i remember he was on the USA Network series
Covert Affairs as Henry Wilcox😢
I didn't know so many actors had died God bless all
Great video, they will all be missed. 😂
"The List Of NCIS Actor Deaths Keeps Getting Tragically Longer" true for any show as time passes, eventually everyone in any show will be dead
😞RIP,NCIS cast members who are gone.😞😲
That's NOT nice. Is that how you look at your future? 90 yrs old, that's a blessing. He was spunky and witty all the way to the end. Go with God to that BIG SCREEN in the sky.
Well, the list can't get shorter, only longer...
Always sad to see death in any context, especially those we know well. That said, if we wait long enough, everyone has to go sometime.
You forgot his role on Bones as well..
....and the number of people that have walked down 5th Ave in NYC and died keeps getting tragically longer.
Just watched Wersching on Season 1 of Bosch... died way too young!
I have loved David ( ducky) McCallum from i was about 6 years old. R.I.P. DUCKY.XX
RIP Illya Kuryakin
life is life, we live. we die, just part of life. for some amazing people, they get millions of mourners, that remember the greats that they did for our entrainment, they were truly the best. Life , but the loss of someone like him hurts like David Bowie dying, or Robbie Williams, always a shock, always a WHY?. But life is life, everyone has 1 life, so make the best of it
There is nothing more painful to hear than the word “suicide.”
Yes, it is.😞😢
Here’s a group of people. As time passes, more and more of them die. Shocking!
Rest in Peace. You will miss
I Knew David McCallum Death Was Coming Eventually But Im Still Sad And At Awww.
RIP Ducky.
I also lost my heart to David McCallum when he was in The Man From Uncle as a young girl. We were very fortunate to have been able to watch him develop an amazing unforgettable character, Dr. “Ducky” Mallard. It has been my privilege to have watched you, after he passed, I Binge watched all 20 seasons of NCIS!
Charles Durning was also unforgettable and even if you aren’t an NCIS fan, his role is something that any history lover should see.
Miguel Ferer was another amazing actor
Hard to see those amazing people getting old and die.
REST IN PEACE MY FRIENDS 🙏
Ducky RIP. Such a loss.
I missed Doctor Mallard/ Ducky rest in peace he is one of my favourite characters in NCIS, no one can replace him
Well, that makes sense, the list certainly won't get SHORTER.....
I used to watch the man from uncle in the sixties when I was a teenager and illya was my favourite of the two great times miss them RIP ducky😢🎉
Some of these comments are moronic and quite disrespectful. Rest in peace to everyone on this list
It was so good to see Michael Weatherly on the episode that honored Ducky. I'm just wondering why Mark Harmon didn't make an appearance?
Wasn't the pilot on Liar, Lair the guy from the Orbits ads?
"The List Of NCIS Actor Deaths Keeps Getting Tragically Longer" - I mean, it's not going to get shorter...
Only 2 were series regulars.
The others, with the exception of Ralph Waite and Nina Foch, had no impact on the show itself. Charles Durning did have a powerful character but if that episode never aired, no one would miss it since it had impact on the rest of the series.
Waite and Foch, playing parents of main characters, did have an impact since they were mentioned in more than a few episodes after their deaths. The rest never received even a nod.
Sad that they all passed away but only 4 of this list had any impact on the show.
True
Aww, Ducky was my favorite character!! 🦆
Mr Sapongs career took a sudden dive!
Greg Itizn was great on 24 Annie made every show she appeared in s little better and RIP David Mccallum From Man from Uncle to NCIS
12:21 *mark harmon
also his last episode was in 2021.
Will always remember Bruce Grey as the owner of "Shickles Pickles" on "Queer as Folk" on Showtime.
Wait! Ducky is dead?! 😢
@@ahmadmohammed4212 noooo! Ducky, Abby, and Gibbs was my favorite 3 characters!
Rip ducky
Did you even watch it lol
@@christofloodHe didn't know prior to watching.
@@christoflood tbh stopped watching the show after Abby left!
Michael's wife was on NCIS as Abby's college friend
I suppose it would be weirder if the list got shorter as time went on.
Wow ducky doesn’t look 90. but there was one episode his character has a heart attack. usually when they kill of characters their retirement or just quitting. it bugs me when kill off characters change the story line to point shows aren’t worth watching after that.
The Call of Silence is amongst my favorite episodes of NCIS.
So McCullum is the oldest to die....and I always suspected NCIS as being a huge fan of Star Trek... RIP to all on the list esp Ducky
The list can’t get shorter over time,100 years from now and they’ll all be dead.
All the good ones are leaving us too soon
Been watching ncis for years its loss alot characters over time david and the character ducky was 1 of my favorites he will be missed
Well, the list isn’t going to get shorter.
I noticed that alot of the actors on NCIS where on either any of or multiple Star Trek or Charmed
12:11 David McCallum , we have the same name but your a super star. r.i.p
Love Ducky..RIP. A GREAT ACTOR
Off course it's getting longer! That and FBI are the only shows on television anymore. Frankly, I get sick of turning on the TV and seeing little besides NCIS and FBI. Time for a new genre!
