Why use Bayek when he is running on sand? Have you ever tried to run on a loose surface, yeah doesn't really work as well as solid ground. Try it in Alexandria.

I always thought Connor's movement seemed a little different but cool. Other people in these comments have noted the same thing. I just realized that Connor essentially moves using the Nanba or Weck method. Meaning that he has a little extra shoulder movement to create a slight lean/counter-rotation so that every time his foot contacts the ground his head is balanced over that foot in a straight line, head to toe.
I'll be doing parkour and freerunning soon. This just one small part of what probably the biggest AC comparison I'll ever do. Thanks for watching!!!

EDIT: for the ones saying connor is stronger than Ezio, in my own perspective and gameplay, of the games. Ezio has by far the best strength capability, since every time he fights, he is able to throw and choke enemies with one hand. Moreover, he has a lot of armory and weapons.

I can't remember how to make someone "jog" in AC...it's always either walk or full-on sprint
Ac1 to ac revalations for keyboard you need to press right mouse button + space +w. in joystick you need to press r2+a+analog up. In ac 3 new running mechanics were introduced by pressing how much pressure you give to in rt button.
Bayek is the fastest. When he's 1) running on solid ground and 2) holding X gives him a small boost. Pressing it in short intervals turns him into a goddamn bulldozer.
Of course he was going to trump Ezio in speed. He's the godfather to these children... and he's black 🤷🏾♂️

As a rule of thumb, I measure an assassins top speed by the amount of pants shat by their target, in deciliters of course. That said, Eivør is sure to break some god damn records. Can't wait 🤞
Ezio was never a runner though, escpecially in brotherhood. In revelations he is thinner, thats how he runs %5 faster

I don't really see a difference and I don't think it's fare because they all had different mechanics and movements. So one might appear to be running faster than the others but it looks like they all run the same and the camera movement is different in some.
I actually did some math to calculate who actually was the fastest. I made a waypoint 100m across a flat area and bound a key on my keyboard to start and stop a stopwatch when I pressed W. Connor, Haythem, and Edward all run about the same speed and are the fastest at around 19 mph. Then Arno, Jacob and Evie at something like 16-17 mph. The slowest is between Ezio and Altair who both run insanely slow at something like 13-14 mph.
Danoofaz yah I figured Connor or Edward would run faster than the others. I initially thought they all ran around the same speed but I didn't think Ubisoft would change the speed too much as it's been working fine for years. I guess it's form, I mean look at the way ezio and Altair run compared to Edward or Connor. Maybe the pirate life or native Indian background makes them run faster.
I think it just has to do with the engine they built the games on. All the characters on Anvil 1 engine moved similar speeds and all characters on Anvil 3 moved similar speeds.

To be fair though London needed a zipline, because the buildings were too damn far apart from street to street. Having a gimmick is better than tediously going up and down all the time which breaks parkour via rooftop entirely.

Cool video, I liked seeing the comparison between all the assassins and the music was good too, I think you should redo this though, have a stopwatch/timer, set a marker 100 meters away in a straight, open area with little to no obstacles/npcs then have each Assassin walk, jog, and sprint it. I feel like that'll give us a more accurate measurement

Edward and Shay are the same, it's just the same game, in a more technical sense, reskined for slightly different gear, a different map, and a different story, Edward and Shay fight the EXACT same way, same moves and all, and then the blowpipe got replaced by the air rifle
Not really. It was more of the same, yes. But Edward and Shay sure had different fighting animations (except a couple finishers).

But that's just not true!
Sure, giving Shay dual blades so that they can reuse a couple animations from Black Flag was pretty lazy on Ubisoft's part. But you don't need to go further than the video above to see the difference in the walking animation of the two characters. The devs didn't go out of their way just to make it distinct, but you can easily see that Shay walks in a more collected and graceful manner, so to speak, compared to Edward's more brash walk. Running animations is different as well. Although a bit more subtle, it's enough to spot.

A detail I noticed is that ac 4 and ac origins have their characters off center when they walk and all the others dont

definitely between aveline, evie, and bayek.
but my money is on aveline. she is the smallest of the playable assassins (tied with evie) but her running animation makes her definitely move faster than evie.
Evie and Jacob are the same height, although in the sense of mass I would agree that Aveline and Evie both have the least (body) mass to move around with.

Sé que es tarde pero igual contesto, solo mueve ligeramente la palanca para adelante (No lo tires del todo para adelante, hazlo como si fueras hacer que el personaje camine lentamente) y pulsa R1 y listo, el personaje solo trotara si mantienes la palanca un poco hacia adelante.

every new ac make the parkour worse since unity, seriously, ac3 and 4 parkour was beautifull and realistic, you just needed balls to do that irl but it was physically possible, now next gen parkour is like assassins can fly, instead of normally climbing, they jump 3m higher, skipping like 2-3 grips to take a grip 3m higher. ac origins is probably the worse, you jump from 15m walls like if it's normal, it's not because u made a mistake no, just bayek programmed to get down of walls like that plus You can climb every walls from every positions,you don't have to think about where u should start climbing from, even the walls that have no apparent grips are climbed by bayek with bs animations.
They should bring us back ac3-4 parkour animation and rework the controls, add some cool parkour animation from unity to get down of a wall and it will be find, i am rly disapointed by origins for those animations.

at 0.19 ( in the video of the link) stop the video, think what would you do in this situation and then press play and look how bs it is, it's not realistic to jump 5 meters from standing position like that, max 2.20m if u are a fkn well trained beast but why would you do that if there is another way to climb the wall easily and in a more safty (and conventionnal)way.

That kind of shit never happened in ac3 or black flag, if the next grip was too high, u had to find another way to climb
leap of faith is a way to get down of a really really high building pretty quickly, a particular thing, implemented in the game to get down of a too high building that u already took 2 minutes to climb, but maybe you do prefer a loading screen and being teleported down? the problem is that ubisoft already made fine parkour animations. So why the fuck fucking up on purpose the parkour and even combat animations on a game supposed to save the serie???

Just to address everyone saying to use a waypoint to see how quick they move in meters, there’s an issue with that because they didn’t make the ac games in 1 to 1 scale until unity so I don’t think it would properly reflect the characters speeds after that point
Nah each meter in the game is as long as the one in real life actually older games feels bigger than what the game tells you.
But yeah they’re heavily compressed in size.
