What a great guy. Hope Noddy stays well. We love you.
Superb band and time , wish it was 1975 today . Slade and Sweet absolute legends.
@@MarkSpires-qn8dq Not in my world , sunny Australia in '75 was absolute gold 🌞
Got a Time Machine for sale do you want to buy it 😂
@@MarkSpires-qn8dq Where you live is between your ears buddy .
@@davidsnowdon7328 I live in a time machine ...
I did love Slade they where the best band of the 70's
What a band Slade were .
Absolutely brilliant 👍🏻👍🏻
Good to know Noddy and Dave are mates again
Love to hear more from Dave. He's so witty and such a great story teller. Deserved more time. Great band.
God bless Noddy & the lads, their music changed Britain.
Good to see Dave, wish that we could go back to those days, lvd their songs. Saw them live, and I walked up on the stage few steps at the side Dave just came towards me playing his guitar, and I then walked down the steps.😂no security. Prob about 52 years ago😂
👍
When England didn't look like Pakistan.
@@taichihead42What an odd comment
Thank you, Dave, for the brilliant guitar licks.
What a great band seriously ,and bloody fantastic voice .
Slade are a national treasure ♥️👏

Some people just don’t appreciate “Good” music nowdays…it is guys like this who helped make the music we have today…❤️🎶🇦🇺🇦🇺
Exactly.🇦🇺
Dave Hill, what a cool guy, and a great performer too!
Certainly had the most unforgettable hairstyle.😃

It's good to see that slade are still remembered after all these years thank god for Merry Christmas Everybody even if its once a year its great that they come out the lime light once a year and there not forgotten about..Slade sold more records than anyone else in the 70s they deserve more credit than they have..the best ever band there was absolutely loved them for over 50 years and always will 👌
Not the Bee Gees. The Bee Gees sold the most.
Loved "Slade", great comment, couldn't have put it better myself 😊 x
Sorry comment to @paulgoddard8😮
All the VERY, VERY BEST 👌 to Noddy for now and the future 👏 🙌 👌 ❤
Happy Memories. We always sang Slade songs on the school bus😍Always loved Mr H's outfits ❤
What a great Band, great musicians, fantastic tunes, Thanks for the video 🙏🏻
mega legend, love your authenticity and tunes mr H
Slade one of the very best bands of the 70s, I brought a car from john berry who plays in Slade now what a great guy he is.
You know John?? Agreed he's a great guy. Have known him for 30 years
You got to love Slade boys, they can all talk for England and have got a great yarn to tell.
Love Dave's answer at the end... lovely to see you.." yes i know "
Dave = superstar
Yes that song merry Christmas everybody is my number 1 favourite
No word of a lie, I dreamt of this band last night 💪🤩 mad to see Mr H here☺️🤠💯
The interview isn't long enough,,, GOD BLESS
NOBBY 🙏😇 💯
They've made so many
Christmas's for us all🎄⁉️🧐 I hope this year's GREAT FOR THEM ALL💪✌️💕🇬🇧
WE'RE ALL WELL SLADE 🏆💓🤩🔥😇
its noddy
OOOPPPSS 😅😂😁
its christmas lol@@garybrockwell2031
Shame they brought the interview to a close when Dave was talking about Noddy. Why invite a guest on and then allocate them two minutes? Just ridiculous.
Just shows how this morning have gone down hil so much That interview should have been a lot longer absolutely ridiculous
A really short slot, hardly worth Dave turning up.
I was quite disappointed. I was hoping to listen more anecdotes from Dave. The cut was brutal.
I agree 👏
I was hoping to see his fringe!!
Slade! I love them! You're right, they are underappreciated. My oh my, gudbuy TJane, mama weer all crazee now among my favorites! ❤
Cum on Feel the Noize , brilliant Band !
They literally predated text-speak.
MY LEGENDS!🇨🇦🍁🇨🇦
That was when music was great
Slade's "Merry Xmas" is a summertime anthem! I was in the crowd of thousands singing along with Noddy at the Reading Festival, in the heat of August 1980.
Loved Slade. Dave supplied the sound and Noddy came up with the voice
Jimmy Lea did more than Dave Hill to be honest
@@jerrysartain2539 Oh, Silly me, of course. I can't imagine Slade without all those trademark violin solo's.....
Jim Lea wrote most of the Music Noddy wrote most of the words, I think they would have been taken more seriously if Dave Hill hadn’t pranced about looking like a demented pixie.
dont care what anyone says as a metal guitarist the chord progression for Merry Xmas is a work of genius , the verse is just epic to play
Middle 8 is class too. They have beautifully created songs.
I served him twice when I worked in retail not too long ago 😂 Couldn't believe it
Great group, saw them at Slade's Christmas Party, Top Rank Reading, early eighties. Noddy wore a Santa outfit at the end & initially joked he wasn't going to perform Merry Christmas - nearly causing a riot! Then they played it and blew the doors down. I have NEVER been to a concert like a Slade concert.
Sweet memories. Take me bak 'ome, those days are far far away.
Dave deserved a lot more time here. He has a plethora of great stories to tell. They cut him short. I was 15 in 1973!
Love Slade
Love ya Dave! Seeing you guys live in 1974 was and still is a highlight of my life. Thank you.
Talking of aging gracefully. How much I love this guy, legend of my youth.
Marvelous! :) Love Dave :)
Dave,Noddy,Jim and Don are so iconic of that era.We all blanket it as Glam Rock but they were much more than that in particular from that part of the country along with the equally wonderful Roy Wood and all the other groups and stars of that time Sweet, Mud etc they were all such likeable genuine " ordinary" folk.Even now Daves natural charm shines thru.
Slade is not just for Christmas, it's for every day!
Good on ya Dave.
Slade are Magic. Dave Hill is magnificent.
Greatest ever band!
Great Band, my first true love in Music.
I love that song from the day when it was released!!
dave hill superb
They should give people like this more time, you could tell them two interviews were just going through the motions and thinking of time.
Slade Live... Supergroup! Legends.
Talking about Cancer, only found out ever so recently my Great Uncle Graham Swinnerton (He was the Tour Manager) he passed away from cancer, it's a shame how so many are catching it these days but good to hear Nod gotten past it!
I love Dave, he was and still is my favourite ❤❤❤❤ boy could he move on stage and always always had a smile on his face wearing those outrageous costumes 🥰
I would love nothing better than to chat with him for hours telling me all the stories of life with Slade ...
I'm available Dave if you are?????
Slade rocked. They really did rock hard. Thing is, they postured nearer to commercialism and show business rather than in the arena of the rock juggernauts such as Led Zeppelin, ACDC and the like where they could have so easily been a part of. They had the songs, check out the albums, and they were all accomplished musicians. They did well sure, they were never really taken seriously, but with a Peter Grant style management Slade could have so easily been one of the rock world's super giants.
‘Slade Alive!’ is one of my all time favourite albums.
@@taffyterrier yes. It's brilliant. It really is.
Cheers, cuppa soups all round!
Am besten gefiel mir Dave Hill mit den langen Haaren, dem abgeschnittenen Pony und den Glitzersternchen auf der Stirn. Das stand ihm sehr gut 👍.
You don't have to interview Dave you just let him chat away & he's fantastic value. What a shame these two wasted the opportunity.
Love Slade & always will ❤🎄
❤ slade 💯
Dave of course is 77 years old he’s a father to jade bibi and Sam from his marriage to his wife jan and he lives in Staffordshire
Dave thought me how to write songs when he thought music at my school in Wolverhampton PENN HALL SCHOOL, we wrote a song together called ‘
nobody knows’ (who we are) we recorded it as a class but I left school before the recording n cd’s came back with the final version 😢
Many respectable film critics call Slade in Flame the best music film ever made. It’s dark but says plenty about the music scene and it’s background at the time.
I like Dave. Slade were incredible in the 70's. Sometimes the hitparade was more or less a battle between Sweet and Slade.
Yes, especially in ‘73 - Blockbuster, Cum on feel the noize, Hell raiser, Skweeze me pleeze me, Ballroom blitz, My friend Stan & Merry xmas everybody. What a great year for glam rock (Mud, Suzi, Wizzard, Bowie, T.Rex, Elton, GG)! The musical backdrop to becoming a teenager could not have been better!
long live..............cheers........
Good luck & health especially for N.H0
The First Slade and Sweet,They Both The Bands of The Seventies,A Great Time
i'm yankee and fer the life of me i could never understand why them dudes weren't bigger in the states they damn sher shuda bin!
SLADE --- I Love from november 1972 !!!!!! ❤❤❤
SLADE --- Super Diamond all albums before 1982 !!!!!!! Listen FRIENDS .....very Loud volume 🎉🎉🎉
I liked that band, crazy beggars!
Übrigens die Glatze 1977 stand Dave Hill auch sehr gut 👍.
Daves super Yob guitar is now owned by Marco from the Ants.
It was featured in a Madness video in the 1980s.
Good old Dave Hill, looking very well I must say.
I have a little claim to fame connected to him as my uncle William (Billy) Pearsall, god rest his soul, used to be his gardener and sometimes he would call at our house (my uncle, not Dave Hill) with some of his old stage outfits that he had given him to give to us. I remember one in particular was a black waistcoat with little silver mirror discs sewn all over it, this one I managed to get hold of (having three brothers and two sisters it was sometimes a free for all) but I used to treasure it but down the years I have no clue where it has ended up.
Very good to see him in such good health.
What a great band. Too bad they didn't get the exposure in the States.
Stay Tune Noddy and Dave
The real question they need to ask is 'Dave, does it bother you that Noddy makes a million every Christmas and you make nothing because you chose not to be involved in the song writing process?'
Dave is a legend and the interviewers are useless
They didn't do him justice. I wonder if they understand Slade. Just thinking.
Hosts looked like they wanted to wrap it up as soon as the interview started?!!
They didn't know who he was
Yeah cos chunks was hungry hadn't eaten for 20 minutes
@@thetruthk5138What? She's just a host, she has no control over it. No need to insult her appearance.
Twelve/Thirteen Slade were my favourite Glam band, T.Rex also switched me on.....Then I discovered The NY Dolls, SAHB, and Iggy.
“It must be the gift that keeps giving…” only if you’re Noddy Holder & Jim Lea.
I worked with Daves daughter Bi bi in Debenhams.lovely girl.👍
The time Dave turned into a melted candle.
The original slade were wonderful - big noise and fun, but the new slade are only Dave Hill & Don Powell, dont know who the other members were. Have known Don since around 1966, he was my brother in laws mate.
Was he ever one of Ken Does diddly men
ItV hiring all the Ex-Wilko staff as prssenters it seems.
Does he still write to Rose West as he once did/does I wonder?
I'd love to know how much Dave picks up each year in royalties for the that Xmas classic song. A nice little little earner I suspect :)
Nothing - he didn’t write it.
When Toured ?🎉❤😂
He starting to like like ken dodd
dave looks like Britain’s answer to neil young crossed with ken dodd
I'm pretty surprised that Ian Huntley is presenting television shows these days.
The hat comes with the hair.
Noddy gets all the royalties for Xmas so g. He ought the others out
not true jim lea get the half
Loud loud loud woman
Been an avid Bake Off watçher for years, but this barndoor of a woman has really spoilt it for me. So loud and fake
Dermot O Dreary looks as if he needs a good nights sleep. Maybe cut back on the hours
So Dave, why did you fire Don Powell ?
Kipper tie? Yes,milk and two sugar.
Apparently Slade receive nearly £1 million in royalties for ‘Merrry Xmas’ every year.
Quite rude when the presenters were rushing the interview along you could tell they had no interest in Dave at all.
